I’ve passed this street a million times… wasn’t until a few weeks ago… my cousin takes me to this quaint little French bakery. We ordered lunch… yummy and filling. We sat in a dining room. that was hidden. they were getting ready for Valentines Day! Cute… sweet and the perfect date place or for just dining with the girls… dessert many many nice delish choices .I’m simple at times and I love a great good buttery cookie. the short bread cookie… had me dreaming about it. I went back and bought a dozen… I’ll be back again and again. open 7 days a week…

Yummy macaroons. Delicious food and coffee. I’ll definitely be back. The only thing I don’t like about this place is that it was so expensive. Everything costed an arm and a leg. Lunch was about $ 20. Each individual macaroon was $ 2 each.

At first I liked this place it’s close to where I work so it became convenient but today was definitely the last time I EVER go there. The staff is NOT welcoming at all; they kind of make you feel uncomfortable. They’re speaking spanish standing around while you wait. Don’t get me wrong I’m Mexcian American and I know the language but I can see how rude it might seem to others. Body language says ALOT! They also raised their prices and for what they have it’s really not worth me spending $ 20 for lunch and not even feel like I enjoyed it. I basically ate it(1) I had already bought it and(2) I was staving. Sorry Normandie you just lost a customer! Maybe you should get better employees who ACT like they’re happy to be there!

This bakery rocks! I picked up a hot pastrami sandwich to go and it was very tasty. My friends recommended the bakery and I will be back!

Nothing is worst than bad service at a Resturant. Especially if your the only one there. Shame on you!!! If you order fresh onion soup. That was tasty. But shouldn’t you broil the cheese in the top? I think your staff is LAZY! I love your Resturant. But your staff sucks balls And not in a good way! Doesn’t a salad nicoise come with a mustard Vinaigrette or a lemon Vinaigrette. Not a balsamic vinaigrette that taste like its from a bottle. SHAMEONYOU!

I’ve driven by this place a few times and always felt like it stood out and so I wanted to see what it was all about. Croque Monsieur — 5 stars Service — 4 stars Ambiance –1 star Ever feel like a place needs either a remodel or a good steam cleaning? Yup this is that place. It feels semi abandoned, definitely neglected and used other purposes than just the restaurant and store front. The place feels dated, dingy and almost like the décor has been fully depreciated with no sign of a much needed facelift in sight. It’s unfortunate because this place good be one heck of a neighborhood gem.

So I was planning my coworker, who was leaving our company to move back to France, a going away party and really wanted to find a great bakery to get a fruit tart from. This place was the perfect choice. I ended up going with a quarter-sheet fruit tart which the owner, who insisted on giving me some free gelato since it was my first time there, recommended. She was very sweet and very charismatic. When I picked up the fruit tart, I actually gasped when they opened the box, it was that beautiful. The fruit looked absolutely stunning and tasted unbelievable. The whole office loved it, and my coworker, who had high hopes for an authentic French fruit tart, was not disappointed. Looking forward to trying more things!

really like this place. took my family(home from Kenya for a few months) for a nice breakfast with friends. Outdoor seating, attentive staff, delicious plentiful food. I will be back many times. Planned to buy some maroons before I left but forgot — next time. I’m sure they will be yummy, their pastries and baked goods look divine!

Worst experience ever. This place run by a hateful racist cunt. Like some previous reviews pointed out, the French owner’s heard yelling at the employees, all being Hispanic. No respect, reason why all her employees look unhappy. Avoid this place. there are better French bakeries in la

6÷12÷15 update: Again I tried to order the same breakfast sandwiches I’ve been ordering for 12 – 15 years over the phone. But it was hard, I tell them, they try to repeat it back to me, I tell them again and again they ask me. So again I said«it’s fine» and did not place the order. I guess they don’t want my $ 35 today. I get the same thing every time, at least 5 – 6 times a month, it used to be 3 – 4 times a week. Now I can’t even get the baguettes the I needed for a party, because I could not place my food order. So I guess it was more like $ 45 order… and it’s the same girls working there for the last 10 years!!! It’s just egg, sausage, cheese. love the food, buts it’s hard to order it. I hate to be obligated to go to La Maison Du Pain on Pico, but at least there it’s easier to order… 11÷5÷15 update: I’m giving back another star because my last 2 orders have not been a mess, I hope to keep giving them back more stars…

Happened to be driving by when the owner of the business was going off on construction workers who were helping expand the place. I purposely parked and heard her continuously go off on them. I think she assumed I didn’t understand what she was saying but lucky for her, I’m bilingual. Stopped coming here after I saw her go off on my people the way she did. Have no respect for those who belittle others for the color of their skin… Don’t care if the workers asked for it or not.

I had the eggs benedict this morning with smoked salmon, which is served with fried potatoes and a salad. My boyfriend ordered the Croque Madame, which is a ham and cheese sandwich with a fried egg on top. It was served with salad and fruit. This was mostly good except the eggs on my plate were incorrectly cooked. I’m used to runny centers on a poached egg, not that in-between state you get when you didn’t quite finish hard boiling your eggs. It was still pretty good, though. I appreciated the hollandaise, which is a tough sauce to make. Theirs was very good and very rich. I can’t figure out why so many places that serve bread and butter will give you ICECOLD, unspreadable butter. This makes no sense. So I have to squish the bread with my fingers to get it spreadable. And it’s not just this place – Cheesecake Factory does the same thing. Anyhow, the service was a little slow and she forgot to bring my boyfriend’s fruit, but overall not too bad. I want to return and try some of the fancy pastries they sell and some of the other menu items.

Just because you are French, it doesn’t mean that you know how to make French onion soup. I dropped by for a cup of soup and I can’t express how disappointed I was at how watery and bland it was. At the end of my meal the waitress finally checked on me and asked me how everything was. I gave her a politely honest reply and she said that she would tel the chef. The waitress then returned with without a word and delivered me my full priced check. This place was a big let down.

Their croissants are amazing but sell out quickly so go early. They make a crushed apple puff pastry half moon shaped thing that isn’t very sweet — lovely for breakfast. If you love a good tea sandwich they make brioche pullman loaves. Yes, they are pricey but also quite delicious. Call ahead because if I get in there before you I will have bought all of them. For the uninitiated a pullman loaf is a square loaf of bread with a fine texture that makes a heck’a cucumber sandwich. Make sure you get thin, not thick, sliced. i don’t love the tarts and cakes but that’s really not my favorite so I try not to judge.

This Bakery definitely isn’t French”. One if the three items I got my there yes was some custars-filked concoction that had the taste and texture of Central American pastries– coarse and less-than-flavorful. I suspect Josette has given over her kitchen to the help. The next item was a ham and cheese croissant. Meh. If this was served in Paris, the baker would be run out of town on a rail. It was neither flaky nor flavorful. The last item were the«mini cro-nuts». Really? Instead of having a flaky, almost crispy exterior they were soggy and tasted like grease. 0⁄3. I only gave it two stars because of the distant memories I have of the Normandie Bakery the way it used to be before the owner gave up control.

Recently, I saw this bakery at the Santa Barbara French Festival. I was excited to try their macarons because I am always looking out for a good macaron! However, the macarons were not good :(. Very artificial tasting! I tried both the strawberry and raspberry and both tasted identical. However, the worst part is that they had several menus posted — and on each of them, macaron was spelled incorrectly. They spelled it as both«macaroon» and«macarron.» Call me crazy, but you might try to post your menu items spelled correctly — or maybe pick one way and stick with it instead of multiple versions.

OMG, today I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Josette. She has a wonderful energy. Her birthday is august 7th and she will be 70. She looks awesome and her personality is very vibrant. I love her already. She totally made my day. As always the food is great. This is my little touch of France in Los Angeles.
