I was excited to eat cuban food at a food truck event near my home. I didn’t even look at any other menus and went straight to No Jodas. Ordered the pork, rice & beans bowl. If I could give this a negative star review I would. I am from Florida and know what Cuban food should taste like. The pork was just grizzle, I was able to only eat about 2 small pieces, the rice was overcooked and flavorless and the beans were blah. I will not be eating at this truck again.

Total disappointment. During the whole day I was just craving lechon and tostones. I was just so excited to eat Cuban food. When I get there, I ordered the Lechon Bowl and a side of Tostones. This is the answer I received —-«sorry we don’t have lechon nor tostones, we only have those occasionally». I wanted to die. WTF? Their online menu doesn’t state anywhere that they only serve their main dishes on occasions. No JODAS! I was so upset that I told the lady that the reason I went there was just because of the tostones. COMEON! Anyways, I ended up buying the Beef bowl and it was delicious, it just needed a little bit of salt. Im never ever buying food here again.

I tried this at a recent Street Food Cinema event. I got a medianoche which I had been craving ever since watching the movie Chef. The sandwich was really tasty and was a decent price. The cheese was melted onto the meat deliciously and the pickles were perfect with it. Very delicious. The only downside was that the wait time was a bit long. A couple people who had ordered after me got their food before me so I was becoming concerned. However, it was worth the wait. I would definitely try this truck again to see what else they have. Yum!

I stopped by this food truck at a recent event and I’ll just say I was not impressed at all. From the wait time for the food to how bland it was(I got a steak bowl), I’m not sure how No Jodas hopes to stay in the competitive food truck game with such weak cards at the table. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing — was debating between the Cuban sandwich, but overall I wish I’d ordered somewhere else instead! Oh well, better luck next time.

I could eat their Cuban sandwich everyday, 3 times a day!!! No exaggerations here! This is the only thing I tried and I almost died of happiness. It’s perfect in every way. Crispy, melty and perfect. I’m assuming everything else on their menu is as BOMB as their Cuban sandwich. I will find out soon enough and update my review.

No Jodas! catered a Unilocal Elite event at La Descarga a million years ago, and it always bothered me that I ate a whole meal there and couldn’t really Unilocal it. I didn’t like the truck enough to want to track it down via Twitter or whatever, but when I saw it sitting in a line of trucks at the L.A. Times Festival of Books, I knew it was finally our time. There was a bit of a line, as there were a lot of people in search of food, and I spent my time debating whether to get a sandwich or a rice bowl – always a tough choice. Once I got to the front, service was friendly and efficient enough. I waited a while for my food, but not an unreasonable amount of time, considering how busy they were. I went back again later to get some sriracha and a lid for my leftovers, both of which turned out to be quite necessary. I remembered getting some kind of bowl my first time at No Jodas! I think it had rice and black beans and plantains and sauce, and I liked it well enough. This vague recollection pushed me toward getting a chicken rice bowl this time around. The cashier girl assured me this was one of the best things on their menu. It was not bad, I guess. The portion was giant, a huge container stuffed with white rice, black beans, garlic sauce, grilled onions, and large chunks of grilled, marinated chicken. I ate my fill and probably could’ve stretched it out to another lunch if I’d been anywhere near a refrigerator. Everything in the bowl was fine, and it mixed together in a way that was reasonably appetizing. It was nothing special, though, definitely a little bit bland overall. I expected the chicken at least to have more flavor. A generous slathering of sriracha spiced things up okay, but I just wasn’t that thrilled to be eating this bowl. No Jodas! is the kind of place I’d forget about in my lunch rotation even if it were right outside my office building. I’d go once in a while and it’d all be fine, but I would never get excited about it. It’s not terrible by any means, but not worth seeking out. I’m glad I ran into it and closed that loop.

I’m mad… I was all excited for nothing! Papas rellenas sold out after 1 hour. While I’m sure they’re tasty, they didn’t sell out because of that. Solely based on how slow the orders were coming out that means they were unprepared.(Make more potato balls so they won’t sell out at least until the end of the day) No tostones either… really?! I didn’t get anything because they didn’t have anything I actually wanted. I wouldn’t normally rate without trying the food but I had to, since they let me waste 20 minutes of my life waiting in line. Most food trucks cross out what items they no longer have available! Get it together people.

This catering truck food was very bland and over priced, definitely not authentic Cuban food.

This was terrible. It tasted like a meal somebody’s uncle would make for sustenance rather than for enjoyment. A flavorless, dry, uninspired, boring, overpriced, soulless laugh at the expense of Cuban chefs and families everywhere.

Very pleasantly surprised by their Cuban sandwich. The bread was solid and the pork was nicely marinated. They put a garlic sauce on it rather than mustard, but it works well. I’d put this up there with Portos as my favorite cubano in the city. It doesn’t hold a candle to South Florida versions, but beggers can’t be choosers.

Been waiting for 45 minutes and my food is still not ready. They’ve been calling people that have ordered way after and when I went to ask she said«maybe you’ll be next»

I understand high volume restaurants/food trucks are difficult to manage, especially family run businesses; however it is still no excuses to skip orders. Ticket systems are made to keep track of orders based on first come first serve basis. So I stand here waiting and watching those behind me serviced ahead of me. In the meantime I remind the workers I have been skipped. Twice reminded! The fool is me! And both times I am told I was next. I like the movie«chef» but not enough to wait 45 min just for OK Cuban sandwiches. Would have been one star. I gave an extra star because the young girl was working up a sweat. But minus the 4 stars for not having an honest system in place Ciao

First of all, nobody in the foodtruck is Cuban nor knows how to cook cuban meals. Second, I tried their pulled pork rice bowl, it was flavorless, gave me heartburn. Third, its a harsh feeling when you pay an overpriced plate of non-flavored food. Worst food truck meal I have ever ate. I think Cubans would feel offended by the name and food that this people serve. Step it up people! Have higher standards! If you are selling Cuban food, at least learn how to cook their meals, and stop the rip off with crappy food! Thanks!

For some reason I wasn’t able to check in here, even though the truck was on Pico during Third Thursdays on Pico. Nevertheless, I wanted to add a review because I enjoyed the food very much. The truck had no lines as opposed to the other trucks at the event, but perhaps people deviate towards what they know best, which is comfort food, and this is Cuban food. The food took a little while after ordering it, but well worth the wait. I didn’t eat at the spot, but brought it home. The volcano fries were not soggy and perfectly cooked, crispy, and not greasy. The chicken was garlicky and full of flavor. The sauce was delicious, and tomatoes with cilantro added the freshness. The portion was large and I couldn’t finish the whole thing, but I wanted to. The empanadas were awesome too. I had the beef and the chicken. Both were excellent. Full of flavor. Not greasy. Delicious! Would definitely eat at this truck again!

EHHHH, it was okay. Pretty much sums it up. I got the No Jodas bowl with pulled pork and I added the veggie option: cilantro, avocado, and tomato. I love Cuban food and I love the sour-ness of their meats, but this truck didn’t really do it justice. I’ll give you that the portion size was pretty good, but it was just SOBLAND. Definitely not enough of the garlic sauce and the meat was a bit dry. If you’re going to pack a good sized bowl with food and put very little seasoning? Ehh… it’s going to make the entire meal a bit on the bland side. For $ 10, I was a bit disappointed. If they just put more sauce and made the meat a bit more tender, I’d be satisfied. But it really was just mediocre :(

SHUTTHISTRUCKDOWNALREADY… put it out of it’s misery. 2÷7÷14 Tonight was the last time I give them a hard earned cent out of my pockets. first off, the guy that took the order was rude, I asked him if they had a certain item thats a cuban staple and he replied with a rude comment. So I held my anger and was patient, I really was hungry and was hoping it was going to taste better this time around… Well, 15 minutes later I finally got my order, a Chicken sandwich and sweet plantains. Now I’ve ordered this twice before from them and they never could compare to the quality and flavor of an other Cuban Food Truck called Café Con Leche thats no longer with us, it’s a long story… but anyways they were also on The Great Food Truck Race on The Food Network. They were the best Cuban I ever had, it’s sad they don’t get over their differences, but I’ll leave it at that. back to No Hodas! which translates: Don’t bother me! which fits well with their sense of business ethics. So back to the food… it sucked!!!, no flavor what so ever, very bland and heartless. barely any garlic spread was used, the onions tasted like they had been sitting all day then just warmed up, the tomato was uncooked, same with the chicken, no grill marks, nada! and the plantains were also just warmed up and tasted like they also had been sitting somewhere all day, maybe 2 days. I really was disgusted. Having graduated from cooking school myself, not saying I’m a great chef, but I at least know flavors and how to cook or heat up a simple piece of chicken and build a delicious sandwich. This place should have taken advantage a long time ago, that there is no other cuban Food Truck out there to compete with and should be delivering the best cuban sandwiches, plantains, rice, beans etc. but it’s the opposite for these guys, they just don’t care about their customers and the quality of their food… it’s time for these guys to say Adiós! …I pray one day that«CAFECONLECHE» will resurrect from their grave and pleasure our palates once again.

Every Wednesday and Thursdays outside of work there are food trucks. Well No Jodas happened to be one of those trucks, so hey I decided to give it a shot. The Cuban Sandwiches did look good, but I wasn’t in the mood so I went with the Loaded Fries with Beef. You can choose either Chicken or Beef but I was feeling like eating cow. Now this was the last thing on the menu, and it was $ 8 so I was kind of worried cause: A) From my experience anytime you order the last item on the menu at a food truck it’s just cause they ran out of ideas and threw a bunch of stuff together. B) The Line wasn’t that long. You know what, I am sort of correct in that they threw stuff together. But the fries turned out to be pretty good. It didn’t look like a lot but with all those heavy ingredients I was fairly stuffed after eating it. There were fries(duh), topped with this spicy sauce, tomatoes, cilantro, and beef. The sauce I can’t really pinpoint but it was tangy and had a very nice spiciness to it. The tomatoes and cilantro made me feel healthy, and the beef was very good(not dry). Would I get this again? Perhaps, and yes I would get the Loaded Fries again. I’d say give it a shot if you want, they A-OK.

Much disappointment. I’ve gotten food from this truck in the past and I don’t remember it being this bad, maybe a bit overpriced for what you’re getting but something has to be said for what I got today. I decided on the chicken bowl, and it was not on point. Rice was severely undercooked — it’s a rice bowl, so it was the majority of the dish! Couldn’t even eat it with the beans, which is much of the enjoyment of having Cuban rice and beans :(Onions and beans were ok, decent flavor with the garlic. White meat chicken was pretty dry, and not much of it. 8 bucks(8.70 with tax) I’m bummed and won’t be back.

the food truck was parking near Cedars Sinai one Friday, so i decided to try it. i got the cubano: ham, roasted pork, pickles, swiss with mayo all pressed together on the griddle like a panini(minus the grill marks). the bread was toasty, the pork was tender and not tough, i tasted a hint of garlic in the buttery mayo? i do wish that my cheese was melty. my coworkers all got rice bowls: chicken and beef. they all thought it was so bland. it even looked bland and boring: chopped chicken breast mixed with white rice and beans. it looked so dry, but i didn’t eat it so i can’t comment. i do recall other Unilocalers mentioning how dry and bland the chicken was. so stick to the cubano sandwich.

3.5 stars! Our work started having food trucks every Wednesday and Friday and my co-worker ordered some Cuban Potato Balls and their Cuban Sandwich. Each come 2/order. Surprisingly, the portions were pretty generous for a food truck. It was too much food for her, so she gave me 1 potato ball and ½ of her sandwich. I was going to save them before the gym, but it SMELLEDSODAMNGOOD sitting at my desk I devoured potato ball after«taking one bite», and ate ½ of the sandwich after«taking 1 bite», hahah. The meat inside the potato ball was super flavorful and you can tell it was handmade! Loved the crispy fried outside. I want to say they’re better than Porto’s.(Gasp I know!) Not sure what else is on their menu, but if I ever see this food truck, I’ll def be willing to try out the food.
