I agree w. BrittO. I walked by last week. This location is closed and empty. I was surprised.

This is definitely one of the most expensive less than mediocre pizzas in Hollywood. My 19 inch pizza with 3 normal toppings came to $ 29! When the delivery guy arrived he had no change for $ 40 bucks. What delivery guy leaves the restaurant with no change at all? I ended up having to call the restaurant and give them my credit card info. The pizza, besides being tough and overcooked was very bland had about a handful of cheap tasting cheese on it. I had read some of the previous reviews about the lack of cheese and somehow I thought those people were exaggerating. I was wrong. I STRONGLY suggest not wasting your time and money at this restaurant. The food is indisputably subpar.

Don’t be surprised if this place ends up on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. Do yourself a favor and just walk a block further to Ralphs and buy a microwavable or a pre-made meal for the oven. It’d be cheaper too.

My husband and I have been going here for several years now. We love this place! The food is always great and the owner is awesome! The pizza is the best in the area and we love the salads, highly recommend this place!

I parked my car in the lot and as we entered the guy working at the front was very rude. Granted, they were closing soon. He said«take out only». We were deciding if we wanted to order and he interrupted us again and was very snippy. I was considering taking the food to-go but we felt like we were being ushered out! Not pleasant at all!

The negative reviews here are obviously from people who have never been to NYP&P because they are hateful and inaccurate. A dead giveaway is a one who claimed one of the menu items was awful, when in fact this restaurant doesn’t sell that item. Busted. This place is not a red-carpet Beverly Hills restaurant, it’s a pizza joint. It’s not a nation-wide franchise, it’s a two-owner pizza joint. You don’t get seated by a hostess and wait for«Brandon, your waiter,» it’s a sit-where-you-like, grab a menu off the counter if you feel like it kind of pizza joint. And I’ve been dining there for more than 10 years and never has it taken 45 minutes to get two slices served, or anything else. And those saying the pizza, chicken parm, etc., here suck wouldn’t know good pizza if they were slapped in the face with one. I’ve noticed native Angelinos have no clue what good pizza is. For me, this is the only place I order chicken parm, lasagna, and spaghetti, because this is the only place without a maître d’ and an Italian chef that makes these dishes correctly.

I went there with my family and had an amazing experience at NY pizza and pasta. The waiters were all very friendly and the service was spectacular. The food is freshly made and tastes so authentic. The pizza I ate was one of the best pizzas I ever had. My family really enjoyed their experience with the food and great service as well. I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone!!!

I recently moved to LA from NYC. I’d like to say I know a thing or two about«New York» pizza. That being said, yes it may be a little overrated, the whole«New York» pizza deal. However, this place had a slice that was pretty darn close to the pizza I’ve had in NY. Since I was hoping for a little«slice» of home, I was pleased. Taste, texture, it was all very familiar, so it does live up to its name, unlike those other«NY» pizza places on Hollywood. Flavor wise, it was pretty good. I’d have to disagree with reviewers who felt it was worse than frozen pizza. Then again, I’m accustomed to typical«NYC» pizza — maybe it all tastes like frozen crap to anyone else. But, if NY style pizza is wrong, I don’t want to be right. As other reviewers have said, the gentleman who took care of me left a little to be desired in the friendly smile department, but I can’t imagine that anyone leaves the house for a $ 2.50 slice, expecting to be wined and dined. I wanted greasy«NY» pizza and I came pretty close at New York Pizza and Pasta.

I always seem to forget about NYP&P and then end up slapping myself in the face when I remember. It’s just up the street from me, has really good thin crust pizza, AND sells cream soda! What else is there to know? Oh yeah, friendly service, good prices, and great Mozzarella sticks! Give them a shot!

It’s a kitchen nightmare, you have to make food better than what I can get at the grocery store and put in the oven. Nothing is freshly made, everything was obviously frozen then fried, and not even well. The fry was so overdone and the breading was thick like a canister around what ever was fried underneath . The pizza was terrible, it was worse than walmart pizza that is pre-made, and that stuff is awful. It’s clear from the fact that they use corn meal under the dough that they have no pride or skill for what they do. Fact is that in NY the good places never use corn meal, instead they know how to properly handle the dough to prevent it from sticking to the peel. The chicken wings were clearly probably fried then refrigerated and then fried again to reheat prior to serving. I have made chicken wings before, the meat cannot possibly be that dry and cold due to delivery time.

Their about as pleasant as a car crash, but the pizza is good. 8 out of 10 on the zah scale. If you want healthy trendy dickhead pizza, go to pitfire or cheebo, but if you’re looking for a get fat, stay home, feel bad for yourself kind of night, this is the zah for you.

Tried this place again last night after a little over a month and the Chicken Parmigiana was just as a I had remembered it and my oldest son loved it too! We also had the cheese pizza again and tried the spaghetti with meat sauce… both were excellent!

Just OK — large order of mozzarella sticks, about half overcooked so no cheese inside but were delivered hot, which was quite an accomplishment considering it was delivery. Pizza is made with cornmeal on the crust, which is not something I’m a fan of — also tastes like the cheese is cheap. Veggie toppings were good, cut a bit large for my preference, but tasted good. Definitely not as good as Joe’s, or even as good as Village. PS the only thing«New York» about this pizza is that the place is named«NY Pizza»

Where I grew up, I lived up the street from this little«mom & pops» teriyaki joint. That place sufficiently ruined me for EVERYOTHER teriyaki restaurant. Why do I bring this up? Because it has set the standard for which I gauge ALL hole-in-the-wall restaurants. New York Pizza & Pasta is very much a HitW… But as far as my understanding of Italian food… Their lasagna effing blows. It is bland… Runny. Soggy pasta… Blecht! I will not write the off yet, as I have high hopes for their pizza. Now if their pizza lets me down as well… Then that is the review you will want to read. 2 stars… For now.

Nice food, fast but I think a bit expensive for what they serve. The menu showed one price but I end up paying more not much more but still. Besides that I would recom. this place for their food.

Lunch price was $ 7.95 for two slices, a salad and a soft drink. It came to something like $ 9.73 when I got one topping on each slice. Good cut of mushrooms on one, stingy cut of diced tomatoes on the other. But it really just tastes like pizza out of a Hurt Locker, err, I mean, Frozen Locker. The pizza dough is stubby like fiberboard.

I ordered a 16in pepperoni, meatball, mushroom pizza for delivery for a total of $ 21. The guy on the phone was nice, as was the delivery driver. They have a website that apparently allows internet orders, but I was a little skeptical so I ordered by phone instead. The pizza arrived at an average temperature, and was slightly soggy in the middle. To me this isn’t a bad thing usually, but the type of crust they use(which was cooked fine on bottom), was too white on the edges for my liking. The toppings were well portioned and the sauce they use was delicious. Overall, it was a very average pizza experience, and I look forward to how the leftover slices cook up in the oven later this week. ***FYI Leftover Pizza Tip: Wrap it in aluminum foil, portioned out in 2 – 3 slices per wrap job. When you go to reheat, simply open the foil, spread out the slices, and place directly into the oven. I even use my bare hands when I retrieve it as the aluminum dissipates heat extremely quickly. And Voila!
