Narbeh Gharakhanian DDS, MD

I visited Dr. Gharakhanian for a consultation regarding an implant. He was very professional, had great chairside manner and took the time to make sure I fully understood everything. This was one of the few times that I felt that I was given full attention without feeling that typical «I’m a busy Dr.» rush, even though the waiting room was full of patients. He earned my trust with his expertise and I could tell he is very knowledgeable. Due to my positive experience at the office and with Dr. Gharakhanian I give my highest recommendation.

I was obviously not in the greatest state when my dentist told me that I have to get my wisdom teeth removed. I have pretty healthy teeth and in the past did not have to do anything major. There was not enough space for my wisdom teeth though and they pushed the teeth in front of them and started building up cavities — I have to admit it was very hard to keep them clean.
I was referred to the Southern California Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Arts. I went in the morning and was told to get a consultation and could right away have the extraction if wished. Dr. Narbeh Gharakhanian was from the beginning very nice and patient with me and my husband and answered us all the questions. I was planning on getting a local anesthesia only but after talking extensively to him and two assistants that went through the whole process already I agreed to get a full anesthesia. Everyone did everything to make me comfortable and my husband was allowed to stay until the surgery started. I woke up not feeling anything (obviously ;-)). The doctor and his assistant explained when to take which medicine and what to drink/​eat all in detail to my husband and then we could leave right away. I only started feeling some pain in the evening and did not experience much swelling — which is for sure thanks to all the cooling I did. The doctor warned me that usually the second and third day are the worst in regards to pain/​swelling — which did not really happen either. I only had to take mild pain killers for a couple of days and am really happy with the result. Dr. Narbeh Gharakhanian even called me the first night to make sure that everything was alright and if I had further questions. The surgery is now six days ago and I still experience a little pain but it is no comparison to what I have heard from friends and family…
