They have a buffet style or a la carte. Food taste pretty basic. My fam could probably make it better. They got lechon tho. And it’s hard to get the food u want when there are other people trying to order

I remember when my family used to bring me to this place back when I was a kid. Even then I never thought of their food as being exceptional, because honestly, we all developed a certain taste of the food we grew up eating cooked by our family. Fast forward a decade or so, even still I don’t think the food here is of any exceptional quality. Just a run of the mill, mediocre filipino food that just happened to be sitting in the middle of a plaza located in the filipino side of Eagle Rock. This is my second time eating here in the last decade, and for good reason. The food here just isn’t that good. Period. I will start with the appearance of the place. The front façade already has the public health rating to a big, bold, B rating. If that doesnt deter you from stepping in, once your inside you’ll immediately smell how the place has a certain«funk» if you will. And while their food selection is large, and looks appetizing, it is anything but. It was lunch time my Kuya and I, drove to Eagle Rock to have lunch. He was craving filipino food so we actually went to Lutong Bahay first which is located next door. However we immediately saw how busy it was inside. I can understand because they actually cook decent food there. In fact their Seafood Mix(my favorite) is exceptional. Anyways, let’s get back to the topic at hand which is Nanay Gloria’s. Upon seeing the mega cluster of people inside Lutong Bahay waiting for decently cooked filipino food, and even though I warned my Kuya that he might regret it if he decides to eat at Nanay Gloria’s(based on my past experience of course) he went in there anyway. So here’s out it transpired: As we approached the counter one of the lady was just staring at me like deer on headlights, if you saw us staring at each other you would of probably thought we were playing a game of staring contest. Then I asked and pointed at one item asking what it was… no reply, I asked again this time in tagalog… still no reply. So I ended up with what looked like an omelette type food, and a giniling(ground beef stew), and rice. Now it was my Kuya’s turn to order. He ordered caldereta(goat stew) another older lady helped him. While she was scooping up some of the caldereta he asked kindly that if it was ok to not be served any of the fat only the meat please, and she gave an audible«ugh!» maybe because she thought my Kuya was being picky while the truth is its due to high blood pressure. They wont win any friendly service award anytime soon. Now on to the food. Eating here today with this mediocre food only reminded me how mediocre their food really is. While I only tasted two of their items, how bland it tasted I’m not exactly looking forward or even making an attempt to try the others. Oh and about Kuya’s caldereta you ask? Fat, Bones, and soup. Yeah you get the picture. The price? Expensive. This place doesn’t compare, or hold a candle to the Vegas Nanay Gloria’s. The difference is night, and day. So if you happened to be in Eagle Rock, and just so happened to be craving filipino food. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere where the food actually taste decent, and it’s actually worth the asking price. There are plenty of choices in Eagle Rock like Kusina Filipina(located just a few blocks down), or Lutong Bahay(located immediatey next door) etc. You’ve been warned.

Ok first of all I’ve heard about Nanay Gloria’s from mutual friends and they highly recommended if. Of course being Filipino myself I was excited, since my mom lives a bit far from me so I’m always craving it. I got there and it looked promising, a lot to choose from served in a Cafeteria style. The lady that served me was nice although she had a stoic facial expression. I got the 2 item combo to go and ordered the Chicken Adobo and Beef steak. Here is why it’s only 1 star. THEFOODISSOSALTY that it was literally impossible for me to eat(pictures as proof). It felt like I was taking a bite of a piece of meat dipped in salt. I had high hopes for Nanay Gloria’s and this was a let down. And I’m not some«Americanized Filipino» either. I was born in the Philippines eating Filipino Food growing up. And this was really over the top not edible. I really hope they change the cook or something because the food here is really bad.

ladies are nice, but food was not good. I just bought food to go at 6pm today(3÷6÷16) — so it wasn’t too late for dinner — and the tilapia was cold and stale. The Kare Kare meat was half fat. The other beef thing I bought was too oily and the beef was dry, which is surprising considering everything is stewed and braised on that heating table thing… Right next door, there’s another Filipino fast food place inside the Seafood Ranch Market, and although I didn’t try it, the food looked fresher. Back to the Tilapia… it tasted like it was re-cooked and old because it had that strong ocean taste, the skin was soft and not crunchy like normal freshly fried food, and parts of it were peeling off in weird patterns — which is what led me to believe it was cooked, refrigerated, and then cooked again… fn disgusting… If I wasn’t preggers, I might have eaten it or tolerated it better; however, because I am, I couldn’t risk possibly poisoning myself/baby. AND, they charged $ 7 for this old, soggy fish… I should have just went right next door and had the meat dept fry fresh tilapia. Lastly, the menu prices on the pictures on Unilocal are not current… 2 meal combo is $ 9…

I wanted to eat buffet and my girlfriend wanted to eat a combo meal. They would not allow the transaction. They said it’s either we both eat buffet or we both eat a combo meal. Poor customer service. The place is even not clean and the staff not so nice. This place should close. If I could give no stars in Unilocal I would.

I have mixed feelings about Nanay Gloria’s Fast Food, come here early and the food line-up looks amazing, fresh and delectable — they are actually yummy I give them that but come here after lunch or after dinner and the food trays looks abysmal — a lump of food in a puddle of grease… it’s not a pretty sight. The dessert trays are always a welcome sight !!! The«Turon»(deep fried sweet banana wraps), «The Carioca» I honestly don’t know what the heck this sweet sugar coated deep fried ball of sticky rice? is but it’s really yummy and chewy!, Banana-Q(deep fried banana on a stick coated in caramelized sugar), «Kamote-Q»(Sweet yams on a stick coated in caramelized sugar); Deep fried goodies + Caramelized sugar = I’m sold!!! These treats are something I grew-up with and taste familiar and I have to say they do a very good job preparing them(especially when they are pipping hot!) I highly recommend trying them! The restaurant is okay, has a good enough space to accommodate quite a few people, a television showing TFC(The Filipino Channel) hangs by the corner, the staff personality vary — sometimes they’re perky and cheery but sometimes it seems they woke up from the very bad side of the bed(borderline rude) Overall, this Filipino restaurant is not bad, it’s not great but totally acceptable. The Food is good especially if you come here at the right time(before lunch — before dinner), service could use improvement as well as the staff attitude. I would come again — especially for those yummy Turon.

My family always pass by this place and always wanted to try the buffet but never had a chance. So this week end we tried it. The servers were really rude and unwelcoming. When I was there the server immidiately said rudely in tagalog«what, are you ready? faster». We havent even gone around to see what they had. Another server accomidated my uncle and basically had the same tone of voice and unwelcoming aura. We went here for the buffet but you cant really enjoy it because they put a lot of rice on your plate. You won’t really notice this especially when your hungry. Until your done with your first plate and realize your full. You cant even exchange the pancit or palabok with the rice. You easily get full after one plate. Their palabok was dry and had too many pepper. The rest of their food I notice was very oily. You also have to pay for drinks separrtly and the desserts. Pass on this restaurant… If you want a buffet just go to Leelins bakery in the morning. You kust have to wake up a little early but I think it’s worth it. Servers are much nicer and it comes with dessert and drinks. They are not heavy on the rice as well. Youll be able to go back and forth.

I’ve been coming to this particular Nanay Gloria location for many years now. I’ve always enjoyed the variety of their food offerings for the turo turo style of Filipino dining. Dishes are always kept warm and looks so appetizing making it difficult to decide on your either one or two items for your combo plate meal. Prices vary in that a one item is $ 4.50 to $ 4.75 depending in the ingredients of your selection with beef being on the higher scale. A two item plate goes for $ 7.00 to $ 8.00. I’ve usually ordered one items because they give you a nice size portion and one seems to fill me up pretty well. You also get the customary side of tangy soup or «sabao» to accompany your meal. I’ve also tried the chicken empanada which was tasty but a little expensive at $ 1.50 I feel but it is what it is. You can order large platters for private parties and have seen someone picking up a whole roasted pig before(see pic). Every time the older matron serves me who is probably either«nanay» herself or one of the lola’s(grandmothers) she’s always treated me like a son. One time she said«one item is good enough because it’s a lot of food!» Thanks for watching out for my weight nanay, lol! You do have to come pretty early in the morning if you want a traditional Filipino breakfast on the weekends though because they run out of the longanisa, tapas and tosino very quickly which happened to me recently so I was forced to have lunch for breakfast. Not complaining, it was very satisfying. For sure I’ll be back again.

It’s a good thing that I came to eat here. It’s one of the places I can check as a place of «where NOT to eat». Food is expensive price-wise. Serving is small. Food is sour. Won’t be coming back. Would not recommend this place.

I just tried this out and amidst all the regular food options, I went straight for the dessert items. I decided to get the carioca and turon. The carioca is HUGE! At $ 2 a pop, you definitely get your money’s worth. I should’ve bought more of these because they were so damn good! On the other hand, the turon was a let down. I consider myself a turon expert because I LOVETURON and get turon wherever possible These were $.50 a piece and I was excited to get 8 pieces for myself. The inside had the plantain and jackfruit as you would expect in any great turon. Although the outside was crispy and coated with brown sugar, the inside was pretty mushy. I don’t know if they made it earlier in the day and it just sat out, but I was very disappointed by it. Since the wrapper was mushy in the middle, it just overpowered the taste of the plantain and jackfruit. Would I get turon again here? Probably not. I would just buy more carioca. The service was really friendly and personable. The older lady at the register was having a nice little conversation with me. I appreciate places like that.

I didn’t choose to eat here, this is my moms go to spot for some weird reason. I like filipino food, i’m picky with it though because well, nothing is better than homemade. I’m used to my mom, aunts, and other homemade filipino food and it’s hard to find a restaurant with good decent filipino food. But Nanay Gloria’s isn’t one of them. I’ve had Nanay Gloria’s in Las Vegas and remembered it being greasy, but she assured me that it was perfectly fine and i agreed. When we first got there, there were no labels so we had to guess. There was something that looked like chicken in pink sauce? I was wondering why the sauce was pink. Maybe it was a dish that i wasn’t familiar with but when I asked there was no explanation. I got a combo plate with bistek and pancit. I asked if the pancit had chicken and she just said yeah it’s good! My husband had adobo and the fried chicken. When we went to pay, I asked for a bottle of water and this lady was so against me buying a bottle of freaking water, she kept pointing at the machine behind me and it was a kind gesture that there was free water but that time I wanted a bottled water and she just kept saying no we have water there get that water. I wasn’t trying to be snobby I just wanted bottled water to save for later. Anyways, the pancit was hard and smelled like seafood, then i see theres scallops in there not chicken –____-. Ruined my appetite and I was a little peeved she didn’t tell me the truth. The bistek was good, it was chewy but overall my food and my husbands food were super greasy, like swimming in grease greasy. I didn’t even really finish mine. My husband and brother ended up getting the bubblies in their stomach later. My mom has a strong stomach because I can’t come back here. If you want good filipino food, go to kusina or Lutong Bahay, those places are close to the type of filipino food i like, homemade. I got a Sarsi before I left and that was probably the only thing I really enjoyed.

We were trying to enjoy a nice authentic family lunch. The crispy Pata was very hard not crispy at all. Crispy Pata should be crispy not rubbery like a rubber shoe. The food was cold. The bathroom disgusting. Shall I go on. Service was rude. We aren’t foodies, or Food critics we just want the owner to know what our personal thoughts are. However the Sinigang was delish. Sorry nanay Gloria who ever you may be this is just our honest opinion.

Horrible service. Went to eat«buffet» but the lady giving plates and rice gave me dirty looks when I asked for more plates. I asked rice for my friend and she said the rice she gave me(1 plate) was for both of us. I don’t know why she was arguing coz it’s ALLYOUCANFREAKINEAT. The good thing about buffets is the convenience of getting any food anytime you want however many you want. She ruined that experience. We were hesitant to get seconds. My friend asked for a napkin and she just tossed the big bag of napkins in front of him without saying anything. Very rude it’s worthy of this Unilocal. The food was being heated by dirty water. Looks like it’s been there for weeks since it’s turning color brown because of the food that’s been dripping in it. Wouldn’t recommend to anybody.

After marrying into a Filipino Family, this place became our go to place for breakfast on the weekends. It’s a lot of food so my husband and I used to share a plate of garlic rice, pancit, longanisa and maybe a squid or kare kare.(My favorite here is the kare kare) Now we order our own plate plus more because we want more variety. They only have the garlic rice if you go really early in the morning before 9am. There is also a breakfast buffet so the buffet people eat all the garlic rice. I feel like we always have to fight the buffet rush to get the last bits of it lol Not so sure why this place has a 2.5 rating because my filipino husband and I love this place! It’s always a treat to come here on a Sunday morning before football starts!

This review is not meant to put this business down. Im just going to be blunt about my experience here. Make sure to ask about their MSG usage… The 2 time experience I had in this restaurant, I had symptoms of «MSG allergy reaction.» It’s the worst feeling you can ask for(migraine headache, chest pain, swelling on the face, flushing)… Overall, food quality is ok…

I wouldn’t say this place is great, but it’s not horrible. I’ve been here a couple times but only to get the melon juice.(Good, but definitely more ice than the actual drink) so I went in the other day to try their buffet cause my boyfriend and I were craving Filipino food. The layout isn’t great for a buffet only cause you have to reach across the food to get the items on the other side. And not everything was part of the buffet! There were at least 5 items that were not included in the«all you eat» menu. And they were the ones that looked good to me.(The eggplant with egg is one of my favorite Filipino dishes so I guess I was more mad about that cause I couldn’t get it). The service isn’t as great as well. The lady behind the counter seemed like she couldn’t wait to get our order out of the way. She was somewhat rude and I told her we were paying separate but she charged for both even though I repeated at least three times. And she gave us one plate of rice(you’re suppose to get one each — there were two of us!) and when we asked for another plate, she said«I’ll give it to you after you finish that» what are we 5? we’re not kids! Just give me the plate of rice! She gave us bowls instead. What the heck, how is that any help? Anyways, food was okay, kinda greasy but it was ok. You can’t eat a lot cause the greasiness fills you up fast! Great trick guys, great trick. Haha! And dang! Their tax is high. Sign says $ 6.99 per person, we paid $ 11 for our plate. But whatever still okay, I’ll still come for the melon juice though haha.

If you want DECENT Filipino Fast Food? Priced right this is your spot. Nanay Gloria has been in Eagle Rock for a while and she Can COOK… The foods good, for the price and the service is not Bad. They usually make this Baked Fish Salmon dish which is really good. Their Cinigang, Beef Steak, and Beef Caldereta is really good also. Also their BBQ Pork sticks are good.
