Wow have been eating here for years, I can’t believe the level of rudeness I just experienced. I ordered 20 pc fried chicken drummettes and was using my check card. The man who answered the phone was explains they don’t «TAKETHAT». Okay I said when did you stop taking check cards, he ignores the question and says my card is going to be declined. «Wow» before you even enter it into the system. Okay I said, I still tried to give the benefit of the doubt to them. After getting my card info, I notice he doesn’t ask me for my security code, I think nothing of it. He responds 30 seconds later and says your card is declined. I immediately called the bank and was told he entered a random security code, «Really» Mr. Angelo’s. Shady business in the hood, is the worst. We are trying so hard to upgrade, it sucks when you can’t trust the local businesses in the community. Unfortunately after about 20 yrs of eating with you guys I can’t support this. I want my kids to know no matter how you want something, sometimes the cost just isn’t worth it.

Terrible terrible terrible! Order chili cheese fries, small pizza, onion rings and a root beer and the food was so tragic! Onion rings were beyond burnt, I’m guessing the chef didn’t want to make another batch because I ordered for delivery service near closing time. Pineapples on pizza seemed as though they baked the pizza then through cold canned pineapples on, what the hell??? Chill cheese fries were soggy and the chili taste dreadful! I have been calling several times to at least get some editable onion rings but no one is answering, they are dead wrong for this! They don’t give a crap about the food they are serving and should be a shame.

The pizza here is good and always fresh. Wait times are anywhere from 20 — 45 minutes but they usually call it correctly up front. The employees are friendly. I’ve tried the pepperoni pizza with sausage, chicken wings, and fries. There is always street parking.

I don’t get the positive reviews, especially one calling it the«best hood pizza» because that’s not even true! We wanted something different from the regular Dominos and Unilocalers let me down here. Delivery took almost an hour longer than the 45 minutes they told us for one pie. The driver got lost on top of it when we gave him clear instructions on how to get to our apartment. The crust was soft and the sauce was sweet. Nothing like they advertise. We got an Extra Large and it was still not that filling. I wouldn’t get pizza here again, even in LA. Not worth your time or money, especially since it’s not even that cheap given what you get.

First time I ordered from this place after they left an advertisement on my front door a few weeks back. I figured since they offered delivery, to give them a try on one of those lazy Saturday afternoons this past Summer. Even though they’re a Pizza place, their menu offers various other non-Pizza options. I didn’t feel like Pizza, thus I ordered a half-chicken dinner, an order of Chili Cheese fries, and a Double Cheeseburger. I figured to try various different menu items to get a fair assessment of the place. Fried Chicken — The half fried chicken combo was pretty good. The chicken was hot and extra crispy, just like I like my fried chicken. The seasoning used gave it a good taste. The fries were your typical fare mom/pop fries, golden crispy and good taste to them. They included a big dinner roll, which I set aside and never touched. Great deal at $ 8 for a half-chicken combo. Chili Cheese Fries — Perhaps I’m just used to different chili cheese fries. I was expecting a lot of cheese and meaty chili. What I got was what appeared their own chili recipe with cheese on top. I didn’t notice any meat within the chili at all. It was a huge serving of fries, which justifies the $ 6 price tag, but given I didn’t like the taste, I left it mostly untouched. Double Cheeseburger — This definitely was one of the worse tasting and most dryest cheeseburgers I’ve ever tasted. Nothing fancy here. Your typical Aramark/Sysco provided thin burger patties with absolutely no juiciness and completely dry. Where they splurged with cheese on the Chili Cheese fries, they were very frugal with the cheese on this double cheeseburger. I guess I’m just used to having a slice of cheese on each patty within a double cheeseburger, rather than one slice tucked in between both patties. A weird thing I thought was that instead of placing the ingredients(pickles, lettuce, tomato) in the middle of the burger like most places do, they threw that all at the bottom of the burger with the bottom patty covering it all, so at glancing, all you could see was 2 pieces of bread and 2 meat patties, similiar to what you’d get with an AM/PM cheeseburger. I was quoted a 40 minute delivery time, which ended up being a 1 hour, 20 minute wait. After one hour I called, and the Latin gentleman who quoted me the 40 minute delivery window said«Oh, it still hasn’t left. We’re waiting for another order to be done so the driver can take both orders with her». I asked why he had quoted me 40 mins, instead of saying sorry, he simply said, we’re busy, and hung up the phone. I’d give this place a 2-star review were it not for it’s only saving grace, the Fried Chicken combo. I understand it’s a Pizza place, but if they’re offering other dining options, they should effort to make sure that those offerings are up to par. I will be giving them a second chance, next time ordering what their forte is, a pizza. I’ll update my review at that time.

The best hood pizza for over 15 years or more for sure. That is how long I have been going here. There are risks though, like the guy asking me where I’m from. You kidding me? Anyway, it is worth the risk of getting shot, but be careful. I like the pepparoni pizza, the fried chicken and french fries are delicious. Back in the day the personal pizza was my favorite.

«Special 15» .X large pizza w/one topping ½ fried chicken French Fries Lasagna Garlic Bread 2 Salads… ALLFOR $ 21.99 And you would rather go to little Cesars! Moving on to my 90’s Mr Angelo favorite, The«Philly Cheese Steak» okay okay its not like the one I had in Philly but its good! the mushrooms, cheese, and onions! They switch up on their fries every now and then but the food is still good. Oh and the Carne Asada tacos are good too!

LOL im surprised this is on Unilocal.the pastrami sandwich with jack cheese pickles hot peppers & tomatoes is the best thing on the menu!!! get that some fries & a coke, and feel fat. the chicken is pretty crunchy and good sometimes too. this is in the hood though and on this particular avenue you might get a few extra«EXTRA» friendly girls approaching you, and with some good propositioning you may be in the hotel down the street with her in no time!(in my advertising voice)

I moved to L.A. from San Francisco and was totally spoiled by all the delivery places there. Pizza and Sushi 24 hours a day right to your door. While I like living in South L.A., it unfortunately has very few delivery places besides your standard pizza chains. That’s why I say Yay for Mr Angelo’s. Mr. Angelo’s is a pizza place, but they deliver much more than that. I’ve had the Mussolinni Grinder and the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Sandwiches before. They’ve got pasta, seafood, chicken and burgers but I haven’t tried those yet. I’ve gotten the onion rings, which were tasty, but there wasn’t that many of them. If I do order pizza here I order the deluxe pizza. You can get an x-large 16″ pizza with everything on it for $ 15.50. That’s a pretty good deal. You’ve got the option to get anchovies on the deluxe(no added charge). I tried it once and I was not a big fan. I was expecting little bits of anchovies but these were whole fishes. Very very salty. Without the anchovies it’s yummy. Overall the food’s good, not amazing but good. The food is about 3 – 3.5 stars. They get an extra star because they deliver in South L.A. something besides pizza. I found a menu of theirs online here:
