Motor Photo Studios

Motor Photo Studios was exactly what we needed for a recent shoot for some online branded videos. It’s a clean, nice studio with a convenient parking lot behind the building and right down the street from downtown Culver City. The owner, Sean, was incredibly nice and helpful. The rate and size were perfect for our projects (our crew ranged from 5 to 10 people). We will definitely be coming back and recommending to others!

Summary:
I am not a photographer but I have been to this location since I was hoping to setup meetings with some friends for brainstorming on a start up idea that we had. We were able to meet and we could see that the location has useful for photography as well as thought growth. It is very close to food so we had no problems having a long meeting and picking up some food for sustenance. It works for my needs and I plan to work with Sean in the future if I have more meetings.

I wish there were negative stars.
I am the founder of a women’s empowerment non profit organization and we hold quarterly group discussions to discuss social issues that we face in Los Angeles.
I like to hold them at different venues as I like to give new spaces exposure and I thought that this one was perfect!
From the pictures I viewed on Unilocal,I thought that this was the best location for us to hold our upcoming group discussion but unfortunately, I couldn’t have been more wrong as the professionalism from the owner (I believe) was less than pleasant.
I have been in contact with this studio and gave them all of the info about the discussion, from the hours to the subject being discussed and I was quoted the same price time and time again.
Upon arriving at the location to give them the deposit and secure the date, I was met with a large kind group that had rented out the venue for the entire day so I wasn’t able to view the venue in person, according to owner (Sean). He wouldn’t even let me peek in there when the person in charge had no problems with it.
Ok, fine, I get it. From first glance, the space looked a bit small so I wanted to at least view more images from the owner. I asked if we could go into his office so that I could view the images and his answer was «no»… ok, some people can be paranoid or for whatever reason, I was understanding.
He suggested that he could email them to me from his office and to give him a call as soon as I receive them. I still thought it was a bit weird but I agreed and waited outside for the email to view the images. Along with the images I received, he raised the price by a few hundred along with a cleaning fee. I responded back with what was quoted to me twice and then called him to talk about what was going on, as I had drove about 30 miles (he was aware of this) to get there because of the verified price and wanted to figure out what was going on.
I called him twice, no answer, texted him, nothing. Now why tell me to call you when I receive the email and you’re not going to respond, knowing I’m outside? lol
…By then I was done… The last thing LA needs is another venue/​event space ripping people off and I honestly thought that we had found a gem. Huge inconvenience and Sean couldn’t have cared less how far I drove to give him the deposit that was requested. I highly recommend that you NOT use this space.

This is a great space! We needed a place to shoot some interviews with a white background as well as room for a green screen. This place was perfect! It had more than enough room for our small group of 12, parking, bathroom, wifi and an area for our peeps to work. Sasan was super helpful and no issue or request was ever too much. I highly recommend this studio for rental on the westside for photo or video shoots.

Very grateful to have found the Motor Photo Studio. Was looking for a studio location on the westside and found this place on Unilocal.Not a ton of reviews but it seems that they only recently opened. Good open layout and sic wall for shooting. The studio has a great setup for almost any type of shoot.
Sean the owner was a pleasure to work with. He was very accommodating and helped us get situated when we got there. I would recommend this Photo Studio to any photographer or film production crew looking for a reasonably priced space that has all the amenities of a larger studio space. I’m looking forward to using the studio again soon.

My company frequently needs space to have photoshoots for both apparel and products marketing. Motor Photos is the perfect location for us, being that they are always accommodating, professional, and offer great rates. The location of the studio is very accessible as well, I highly recommend stopping in and checking out what they have to offer.

I was looking for a space to hold a workshop for my business. I’m so happy to have found this place. They weren’t advertising anywhere so I’m happy there is at least a Unilocal page now. The room was easy to load into and setup. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Everything went smoothly from booking to checking out. This place is on my list for all future workshops!
Tips: Very centrally located, Great Westside find, huge private parking lot.

We needed a place to shoot our marketing campaign for our clothing line. It was a last min reservations and Sean was very helpful in making it all happen for us. He made the whole experience very easy and smooth. We were very surprised to see how much open space and parking there was. Great little gem on the westside, cant wait to use it again sometime soon!

I’ve been using this studio for the last 2 years on various photo shoots ranging from fashion and lifestyle to product. As far as studios are concerned this is a hidden gem in west LA. Very conveniently located for my clients, ample, secure parking behind the building, easy entry for loading and unloading gear, large 10’x10’ two walled cyc, and friendly and helpful management. I highly recommend it (although I wouldn’t mind keeping this one a secret all to myself)

I needed an awesome location to rent out a space for a portfolio shoot. Not only does this place have a convenient location with large ground floor parking lot, it also has friendly staff who are beyond helpful. Definitely going to use this spot again!

I booked this studio to film 10 beauty tutorials and it went very smoothly.
The studio is clean, the management is super friendly and knowledgeable and they even helped us find a great place to cater our shoot.
The location was close to the 405 and 10 freeways, and the best part of all is that they have their own lot for parking, so we was super convenient and easy to move all of our equipment from our cars to the shoot.
I will be using them again for all of our future shoots.
