I’ve been coming to Mona for ages. My hair is super thin and delicate but she’s worked with me to get it strong and long. She’s done special events and Brazilian blowouts on my hair and has never disappointed me! I would recommend Mona to my closest family and friends.

Vary bad people they are not polite at all and they don’t respect there customer. I took appointment at 4:30pm with «AZAT» I was the first customer and I wait for 1h than the barber told me sorry you have to wait because there is other person waiting before you. After that I left the shop. Never go back again.

If I wanted a pixie haircut, I would have asked for one. But I didn’t.
I had a photo of exactly the style I wanted and kept showing it to Mona while she was cutting my hair, but she still cut it half as short as I wanted it. When I expressed my displeasure at the length, she commented that my hair would stay short for longer. Apparently the customer is not always right. Plus I have a wedding to attend in a week, so thanks for that.

Great location, service and prices! Just recently I decided to do something to my long and dry hair after waiting over a year to do so. Mom recommended Mona’s Salon on Venice Blvd and good thing I listened to her advice. I walked in thinking that getting a hair cut and dyeing would solve my problem, but what I needed was more than that. Mona told me to keep my natural hair color because it’s beautiful, and that I needed to treat my hair so it can grow long and healthy. She shampooed, trimmed my dead ends, styled my hair, blow dried, and treated it for all a reasonable price!!! Ever since I got my hair done at Mona’s, people would compliment me and want the same results…
Honestly, Mona was looking out for my best interest and took care of me. I am definitely going back and I recommend any one to give it a shot. I am positive you will be happy with the end result like I am. The shop was remodeled, looks clean and organized.

Sooo… I was in the area and needed my brows threaded. This was the nearest place.
Place was empty, clean, but empty.
Didn’t get asked what I wanted, hurt like hell. I’m use to getting threaded quick and almost painless. She was slow and painful. Aaaannnnddd… she took too much off!!! Luckily my brows already have a nice shape, but she could’ve shaped them a lot more, and a lot thicker.
I guess you get what you pay for, but definitely not going back.
I’m giving the place two stars:
1-​the ladies were nice
2-​even though she took off too much, she did clean them up and complimented me.

I always go to Mona when I am in town for a flat iron and brow threading no complaints always does a wonderful job, my hair always lasts for a while, leaves my eyebrows looking fantastic. Very reasonable prices and she recently updated the salon.

About six or seven months ago I needed a last minute haircut. I drove down the street looking for a place that was open AND could squeeze me in right away. Mona’s was my third stop and after a moment of looking confused/​annoyed at my urgency she assured me that she would finish up with her current client in 10 minutes and could cut my hair before her next one.
She delivered and I was happy to tip her 7 $ of the decent price of $ 18 (if I recall correctly, it has been a long time). The cut itself eventually revealed a stray hair or two around the sideburns that were missed, nothing that I couldn’t fix with a quick pluck.
All around a decent haircut and good service.
Update: Went there again and had decent service again. I noted that the place could use a good cleaning as it looks like it has been around for some time and needs a make-​over of its own.

Waxing:
F@#*ing painful, and definitely no modesty allowed. But for a very thorough $ 35 Brazillian, it can’t be beat. They use an Egyptian style soft wax, no muslin strips. Not for the faint.
