So, where do I start with this place… 1. As I was getting a pedicure I sat & watched the man & lady that run the shop deny quite a few people service because of their race or appearance while giving the customer a stupid excuse such as being busy or closing soon when I was the only person in the place. 2. I never go to anyone other than my regular lady for their over priced acrylics but I decided to give them a try since they did a decent job with my pedicure. BIGGESTMISTAKEEVER. this might sound crazy but as she glued the nail onto mine MYNAILSTARTEDSMOKING and it burned my skin so bad my eyes watered. 3. I bought my mother and grandmother gift certificates as a Christmas gift and when they decided to use them the man said they were expired. How does my cash expire in a hole in the wall nail shop with two workers? RIDICULOUS. they basically made $ 100 off me for writing on a piece of paper & handing it to me. Second time trying to get a pedi here. Place looks a bit sketchers but it’s literally right around the corner from my place so I can’t help but try. The first time the guy told me no because he was closing 5 hours early. Today he first said I had to wait 2 hours for a pedi then said«No, I leave early.» What? It’s 1:00 Friday afternoon. How? So basically there is no service here. Might as well report this place closed.

I went there today and had a great experience! I was received by a nice couple who are about to have their first son. The experience was great and the price: a steal. $ 12 for a pedicure which included foot massage and leg massage. Couldn’t be happier!

okay seriously worst manicure i have ever received in my life. and all those stories about the women talking about you behind your back at nail salons — well ive never actually experienced it until today. i usually get my nails done at grace’s or lena’s on fairfax. the ladies there are so sweet, so friendly and NEVER make you feel uncomfortable, even when they converse in their own language. the women at model nails were downright RUDE. they didnt even bother to hide that they were talking about me. they’d say something, giggle, then stare pointedly. uh, what the feezy. the manicure itself is sloppy, poorly filed, each nail is a different shape, and i have paint all over my hands. i got a french tip done and the lines are squiggly and i look like i painted white out all over my finger tips. the white part of the paint is already cracking and chipping. i can’t wait to go back to my usual salon to fix this mess. i’m so annoyed. i’d be even more annoyed if it didnt cost me a measly $ 8. you get what you pay for, i guess. the one thing i did think was interesting was that she rubbed lime/lemon all over my fingernails to clean them. i only stopped by because they are right next to rozinas, but honestly, i will never ever go back. and i urge everyone else to stay away. go somewhere where they don’t make you feel awkward and uncomfortable.

I walked to Model Nails once when I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi and didn’t feel like driving anywhere. I came on a Friday morning and the place was empty. I always drive by it and it always looks empty. A mani-pedi costs $ 20, which I think is a good price for the area. I know it costs less on Santa Monica Blvd, but they have a nail shop on every block. Plus, at Model Nails, they give you bottled water! I didn’t get anything fancy painted on my nails, just a regular paint. Overall, I think they did an adequate job with my mani-pedi. I was a shame I consumed a lot of alcohol that weekend and messed it up. I would go back go Model Nails again.
