5 stars for the Latina sales girl with the great nails and long, black hair who was spirited and funny. I went in again months later to get my Moroccan lantern since I couldn’t afford it the first time I went. I bought it plus a few other things from someone else. One star for the store for selling me over priced items that I could have bought across street. Same stuff-half off. Buyer Beware! Rude owners.

Buyer Beware! The owner is not a nice human and is selling the same items they sell down the street for 20% more. Save your money and buy something authentic not an over priced replication sold as «authentic». Lying to customers about where you buy your products from won’t help your terrible reputation, maybe 2% of their items are actually vintage or antique.

Mix is a very clean and fun place to explore. I was looking for a specific bench and the owner Mark went out of his way to help me find exactly what I was looking for. He even went to the trouble of having it stained for me at no additional cost. The store is pricey but they were very willing to work with me. Excellent customer service with my purchase.

Definitely«Buyer Beware» The most over priced place. I wanted 2 Standing Buddha Statue Fountains for a swimming pool. The owner absolutely refused to sell the statues without the water bases and pump mechanisms at $ 1300 each. Mark the owner offered to order 2 statues at $ 900 each but said it would take time. The owner then offered to discount the water fountains with a 20% Designer discount if I would buy 2. I agreed and figured I could use the bases and pumps else where if I ever wanted. Mark also quoted shipping to be 300 to 400 but was confident it would come in at 300. Of course several days later the shipping came in at $ 400. The statues arrive weeks later and without water bases and without pump mechanisms. I contacted Mark and he said that’s because he discounted them. ?? There was no miscommunication, there was greed on Marks part. I purchased 4 high end sitting chairs from Macys on sale and the salesman offered an extra 10% designer discount because I bought 4 when most people buy 1 or 2. When the chairs arrived the legs came with them. Luckily Macys didn’t keep the legs because of giving me a discount for buying more then the usual shopper. So now I have paid $ 1,040 per statue an extra $ 140 each then the price he offered to order them for and with no bases. The statues are listed as stone but was later told they are not carved stone as other places sell, they are poured concrete. Mark explained no one could afford carved stone. I found his items were more expensive then any of his competitors. If you feel your savvy and willing to risk sleazy used car sales tactics, then take your chances. I read the review about out of Asia up the street and I wish I would have purchased from there. They were not pushy and had a beautiful shop. They also had the identical statue, but theirs was carved stone for $ 850 without the base and pump. My regret was they only had one statue in stock and I needed 2, so I decided to look around and ended up at the sleazy used car dealer tactics, Mark at Mix Furniture. My final gut feeling was, I was in for disappointment, because of the pressure by Mark to close the deal and hand over my credit card. IE where I keep referring to Used Car Sales Tactics. «When you cheat people, they don’t come back and they don’t refer people and so I guess it all perpetuates itself and you feel the need to keep on cheating future buyers in order to survive paying the bills, is all I can figure.»

Bought a beautiful outdoor dining tile table and metal base, but when the base came home it was too high for our chairs. Mix –Alyssa in particular, who was absolutely wonderful to work with-took back the base, made a new base to our exact specifications and did it quickly. Had to pay for double delivery, but that was all-definitely the greatest customer service! And the tile table is absolutely beautiful. We expect to be sharing it with friends for many years to come, and will certainly return to Mix whenever we need furnishings.

Rude lady owns this store, really not nice. I asked someone the price of a chair and she gave me a price(nothing priced!) The owner gave me a totally different price, more of course. I shop as a set decorator and will pay the price for what I need but this place really takes the cake. Talk about over priced. Its stuff from India, none of it old(they claim it is) and really 3xs what you would pay anywhere else 5 times what you would give at a fleamarket. Not inventive and as I said rude.

This Design Mix is the Home & Garden sister store to the one a block away at 442 S. La Brea. The staff was beyond friendly. Olivia approached me and could tell that something was wrong as my pup was just attacked at a similar home décor store down the street(Out of Asia — stay away!!!) and I guess it still showed on my face. I was rattled and trying to walk it off. She could not be nicer. Her co-worker Rose even brought my puppy some water. LOVETHEM! Anyway, back to the store. Lovely, lovely items however their prices and my wallet do not see eye to eye what-so-ever and that is the only reason for the lack of 5 stars. I can’t seem to buy anything in this neighborhood :(But everything was lovely especially THISSTORE’S staff. Oh, and this store has it’s own parking lot. We like that :)
