I’ve been going to Millie’s regularly for over a year and it’s high time I leave them a review. My absolute favorite breakfast place in LA. I used to come every week but sadly I moved a little farther away. Even when it’s a crowded Sunday they always seat you super fast. Literally everything is going on the menu. I love you Millie’s!

I went to Millie’s on my birthday for brunch, and I was not disappointed. I went with a pretty large group — about 10 people — and since they don’t take reservations I was a little concerned. However, especially on a nice day, the area is great to walk around in while you wait to be seated, and the staff is SO efficient to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. They have infused water outside to sip on while you wait, and we didn’t even wait longer than fifteen minutes on a busy Saturday morning to be seated! Their menu can be a bit overwhelming, so as an avid Unilocal-er I did my pre-reading. They’ve got a board of specials outside as well that some of my friends ordered from. I got the Eleanor, which had eggs, potatoes and guacamole on top of hearty potatoes. This also came with a biscuit on the side which is a huge plus. I thought it was very tasty and filling, but I did have some food envy of my friends who ordered California omelets or the burrito. The omelets come with a side of tortillas and they looked SO good. Highly recommend Millie’s for a good breakfast. They were able to split the checks for us among TEN, and the wait staff was efficient and so responsive.

Found this place on Unilocal because my mom and I were heading out towards the area to pick up her husband. Saw the pictures and I usually Unilocal to look at food pictures and reviews that grab my attention and this place did so we decided to try it out. Got here super early around the time it opened. So there wasn’t a lot of people yet. My mom and I got to sit inside and it was surprisingly so clean and organized. The servers here were so great. We had amazing service. My mom ordered their breakfast burrito and I got the Irish Benedict. Our food came out and they looked so beautiful. The true test was their food. The potato that came with my Irish Benedict was soft and flavorful. It was so good! My corn beef hash Benedict was amazing also. My mother loved her breakfast burrito. She complains to me all the time about her food when it’s not one of the restaurants she chooses for us to go to. This totally sealed her mouth because it was delicious and the portion was big. Parking was not hard to find. The only con to this place is that the place was too small. That’s it. It was really nice of one of the servers to chase me down to give me my wallet that I forgot. I’m very forgetful. This place absolutely cares about their customers. Really impressed by this place. Keep it up you guys :)

Yes Millie’s!!! Thank you for being open for breakfast on New Years Day! Parking in this area is a bit difficult, but we managed to grab a spot right in front. It was a total sign that this brunch was meant to be. The line was long because this was one of the few places open New Years Day, but they promised to get us seated in 10 minutes. And they miraculously kept that promise. Service was on point for such a busy day and we were met with nothing but smiling faces and constantly filled water glasses. It was soooo hard to decide what to order and I am usually an Eggs Benny girl, but this was the first day of the new year and I was going to get something different! I went for the Veggie Usual, which is scrambled eggs with sauteed veggies, and chose the french toast and bacon to accompany my potatoes. The eggs and veggies were cooked to perfection, but the french toast stole the show! I believe it was a brioche french toast and it was thick and flaky and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar. It was nothing short of a masterpiece. Everything on my plate was finished, but if I could do it over again, I would get the italian hot-link or soy chorizo instead of the bacon. It seemed boring on my plate compared to everything else. My boyfriend got the Machaca, and what he allowed me to taste of it was heavenly. My sister shared bites of her Vegetarian Benedict and chocolate chip pancakes and I would absolutely order both of those dishes. Her boyfriend got the Spanish omelet and I didn’t even get to try a bite of it. Everyone cleaned their plates. I can’t wait to come back and try the Chilaquiles, the Devil’s Mess and probaby every single one of the Benedicts.

I finally came back after a former owner, Magenta, kicked us all out when my smart-ass friend tried to order a «Polynesian fur burger». Yeah, we deserved that, and my fear kept me away for 25 years! It’s still magic, the food is great and the service is also great; if you don’t like brushing past people or young guys with beards, you should stay away. The eavesdropping was better in the early 1990s, but that goes with the territory.

I really enjoyed the crab Benedict. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I thought the coffee was not very good, lowest level of acceptable in my opinion and we waited quite a while for the food to come out(however they were very busy).

Fantastic food. Great service. Couldn’t be happier with a local café. The California Benedict was super fresh and was made really nicely. Food came out fast and the prices were good.

Recently moved to the Echo Park area and after a 530AM run was craving some breakfast. Since nothing I be area opened until 8AM(that wasn’t a coffee shop) I ended up at Millie’s and am glad I did. Sat at the small bar inside and enjoyed watching the cook prepare one breakfast after another. The food is great and their menu offers a great variety of options from healthy to indulgent

While driving through here almost everyday, I finally decided to try this place out with a friend. We each ordered something different, but she seemed to enjoy her food! I ordered«the usual-with chocolate chip pancakes» it was good! Most definitely coming back. The only downside of this place for me was probably the outside seating, I felt so awkward being seated so close to random strangers while I ate. Haha!

I was most impressed by the size of the menu! A whole section for eggs benedict?! Count me in. Also, I like this place because the vegetarian/vegan options are great. I don’t think the food was incredible; just good. But I would certainly recommend it to a friend:)

WOw! why didn’t i find this place sooner?! Thanks to our friend for showing us this place! This place is very pet friendly as people bring their pets to eat with them and service is good with great food! They also have a huge menu with different options! We came on a Saturday morning with a group of friends, the 5 of us around 11am. When me and the BF got there there was already a line but good thing our other friends got there early and got seats outside. There is a line of tables outside with umbrellas as shade. But it was pretty hot that Saturday afternoon and the sun was shinning on my back which made it uncomfortable trying not to get burn. Parking is horrible. There is only street parking. LA is known for bad parking. We had to park residential area up on a hill. That was quite a workout after a nice brunch to walk up the hill. Service was good. Food came fast. Refill our coffee and water without asking. FOod was GREAT! I got the american eggs benedict with bacon and avocado. The bacon was grilled just perfectly crispy. I felt that the egg was overly cooked as the yolk was not runny. But everything else was good. Half of order of the devils scramble that comes with homemade cornbread or toast. He opted for homemade cornbread. It was pretty good and not too dry. The scramble was very flavorful with all the meats mixed in together. I didn’t get the try my other friend’s dishes but they all said it was very good and the pictures can tell for itself. Definitely a place to try when your are in LA and we will be coming back to this place!

Millie’s is a staple for hipsters looking for brunch, but it has only a few vegan options, and none of them taste any good. We got the tofu benedict($ 9), though the hollandaise sauce is not vegan, so we substituted it for green salsa. This dish was bland and consisted of a giant slab of tofu atop a vegan sausage patty atop an english muffin. We also got the chips and homemade guacamole($ 4). I’m not sure how you can mess up guacamole, but it was under-salted, had no citrus and didn’t have tomatoes, onions or cilantro. In short, it was bland. The gluten-free vegan waffle($ 4) was passable but not great. It was spongy in texture and served with cheap maple syrup. The vegan items on the menu aren’t labeled, so make sure to ask lots of questions. The homemade veggie burger, for example, is made with eggs and cheese. The service is fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Bottomless cups of coffee, but for tea you only get lame, low-grade bagged varieties. If you’re looking for good vegan brunch options on the Eastside, there aren’t many. Flore is your best bet.

I’ve been driving by Millie’s Café for years and I’ve always noticed lots and lots of people eating on the cramped outdoor patio area which is very«New York“with only a few inches in between each seat. This small eatery is only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 4pm each day, so if you want to give it a try, be prepared to show up early! The restaurants up and down Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake are infamous for not having valet or private parking. Slowly by little the surrounding streets are implementing«permit parking only» restrictions, so open meters are a rare sight. Luckily, we pulled up to Millie’s for breakfast around 10am and we got the meter right in front of the entrance! We should have bought a lottery ticket… When we got there, it was a humid and overcast June morning, so we hoped to find a spot inside. Again, luckily, we got the last table inside, tucked in the corner. The menu has tons of breakfast favorites with tons of omelettes, pancakes, waffles, and anything else your heart could desire in the morning. After spending far too much time reading each item, I finally landed on the Eleanore R. Special(two eggs over-easy, cheddar cheese, rosemary potatoes, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and a biscuit). The foundation of nicely seasoned potatoes were great and the eggs were a perfect over-easy with the yolk slowly becoming a nice sauce to dip each bite in. The salsa and guac were fresh, and the biscuit was delicious and served warm. This dish was so monstrous I had to bring some home to save for breakfast the next day! The front patio has some amazing people watching but the traffic noise can get a little loud for some. Inside there’s a long counter that still has the classic 50’s diner vibe, and a handful of tables near the kitchen — all of which are close together like the patio — so be prepared to meet your neighbors in this intimate breakfast spot while chowing down on some great food!

I freaking love brunch. I take brunch very seriously. I brunch so damn hard that I’ve probably consumed every variation of cooked egg that one can have during the hours of 10 — 3pm. Really. It’s a wonder how I’ve maintained a decent cholesterol level all these years. So does Millie’s Café make the cut? Here’s the breakdown: 1. Bacon? Check. 2. Vegan-friendly, health conscious alternatives, and quality ingredients? Check. 3. Outdoor seating? Check. Vitamin D doesn’t pierce through walls. Sitting outside is half the fun of brunch! 4. Stellar customer service? Check. Party of 6 was seated in 5 minutes, the staff was really attentive, my glass was never empty, & the water was INFUSED with fruits. Yes, more please… 5. Parking?. not the greatest. Kind of a bummer, actually. 6. Price? Average. ~$ 10 — 15. 7. Food. Neptune’s Mess was so damn delicious I finished the entire thing. It was huge. Smoked salmon scramble with cream cheese and paired with rosemary potatoes cooked to perfection. Sooo coming back for more.

I’m not a morning person at all. But something inspired me to wake up early, drive to Silverlake, and meet a friend at Mille’s Café for breakfast. For the record, the opportunity to catch up with a good friend was the main priority here. But the secondary motivating factor happened when I took a glance at the online menu and saw the word«Chilaquiles.» Then after a brief description of the dish, I saw the best three words that can ever be on a menu: «vegan upon request!!» Score!!! :) Black beans, tofu, guacamole, and pico de gallo was all good but what really kept me addicted was the tortilla chips. They were slightly thicker without being heavy and had this awesome crunch to it. Definitely some of the better tortilla chips I’ve had. One tiny gripe I had was that when I ordered the Chilaquiles and requested it to be vegan, the waitress asked me if I wanted the soy cheese. When I asked what brand they use, she didn’t know. Usually that’s forgivable but she also didn’t offer to check. I just wanted to make sure it was casein-free. With the dish in front of me, my best guess is that it’s Follow Your Heart.(Does anyone know?) My friend ordered the Tofu Scramble which came with a mix of veggies in sesame ginger sauce. I personally love the the pops of green color in that dish. She wasn’t too crazy about it but I thought it had good flavor. One more tiny gripe, my friend ordered a side of pico de gallo for her dish. My dish includes pico de gallo which also came on the side.(I’m not sure why it didn’t just come on top of the dish). They charged us for two sides of pico de gallo. If I remember correctly, that was an extra $ 2 on our bill. They fixed it without hesitation but it took a long time to flag down our waitress after she handed us our bill. She was very attentive before and during the meal but went MIA for a while afterwards. Other than my two tiny gripes, I enjoyed breakfast. Service was good for the most part and I got my chilaquiles fix. It was a good day in Silverlake to eat outdoors in the morning sunshine :) …also, joke’s on me. I didn’t have to wake up so early because they serve breakfast all day ;P
