I have been to the Fairfax location and when trying to decide where to meet for tea/dessert, this seemed like a good location to try. There is street parking and on a Wednesday night it wasn’t too bad — the trick is waiting for all the cars to pass to try and parallel park into one of these spots! Got here early and decided to try a few samples(the sign says you’re limited to two), so I tried the thai ice tea and the red velvet cake — both were really good. The thai tea tasted exactly like the drink and the red velvet had little fluffy pieces of cake. My friend got there and he tried to lemon sorbet, which made me see the orange blood sorbet. I pushed the limit and asked for another sample — this was good but didn’t quite have the punch that the red velvet had, so I had to go with that on a sugar cone. My friend ended up sampling the strawberry sorbet and getting that. I feel like everytime I come here, I want to try their cookie sandwiches and other items but I almost always just go with the ice cream. Maybe I’ll be more adventurous one of these days. Great dessert place with lots of options and friendly customer service.

The red velvet macaron and Thai tea macaron sandwiches are really good, but very very sweet! The macaron is super sweet. The ice cream is very good tho! I would want to try the grasshopper next time.

While on vacation around SoCal, this was on our must go to list. Glad we came because my Fruity Pebbles Macaron Ice Cream Sandwhich was the bomb! Absolutely loved it even though I was already so full from dinner. 5 stars for my sandwich but subtracting a star because my sister’s macaron tasted crumbly and old and so did a couple of my cousins’. Should replace older sandwiches with fresher ones more often. Also the girl who took our order was pretty rude and seemed uninterested when we asked what was popular. Really? The quality of service is very important in a business and if you’re working at a place like Milk you need to match the environment and be more chipper darling! Don’t ruin someone’s sweet time even if you didn’t have a good day!

YUM! Parking’s a bit difficult near here so sometimes I park near the lake/rec center and walk the several blocks over. It’s ok cuz I justify getting dessert bc I walk off the calories. ;) Smaller than the midcity location. When it’s busy I don’t mind the wait bc staff service is great and upbeat. My first time there they tried to slice me off a piece of this decadent choco cake and it was so thick it didn’t release the knife! lol Staff was apologetic and cut me off a bigger slice bc the thin one they originally cut didn’t want to come out. It was rich but surprisingly mild and went well with a milkshake. Glad they opened up another location in the east side!

It’s a little crowded going inside since it’s so small. I made my own ice cream sandwich and it was delicious and the cookies were pretty big. The ice cream was really good and creamy! The people were helpful being that it was our first time there.

While visiting LA for the week, MILK was one of my must go to places to try and im so glad that it was. Luckily I came with two people, so we got three macaron icecream sandwhichs. We got thai iced tea, mint choco chip, and fruity pebble(listed from favorite to least). The fruity pebble was my least favorite because the actually macaron tasted like bumble gum which i dont really like. Would definitely recommend trying this place atleast once.

Loved my macaron ice cream sandwich! My boyfriends was a little too sweet. It is silver lake so as many people know parking sucks but I was lucky enough to find parking on the street not too far.

Location, location, location ! Loveeee that it’s within Silverlake & I no longer have to go all the way to the even busier Melrose spot. Parking is best within the neighborhood or even by the reservoir in order to walk off that sweet treat you just had. I suggest you try their ice creams before jumping right into an ‘exotic’ macaron sandwich such as their blueberry crumble pie or Thai tea. The tastes are very close to the real deal, it all depends if you really want it in an ice cream form. I recommend trying the sweet, refreshing watermelon flavored macaron sandwich. If it’s available(different menu/available flavors almost all the time). Oh, definitely go for their coffee crumble or coffee macaron sandwich! To all the coffee lovers, this is a MUST! It’s delish!

Looking for AMAZING Desserts??? MiLK is the Spot! I walked in on a Friday night and lucky I had just beat the crowd, a few minutes after me the line was starting to pile up. Being it was my first time there of course I had to ask the staff what they would recommend, and they said it all lol. The staff was very young, cool, and friendly. I got a macaroon ice cream to enjoy here and a slice of the famous blue velvet cake, I took a seat and enjoyed the ice cream in the shop and saved the cake for another day. The taste and quality of everything here is worth every single penny spent, I can not wait to return for more or to even try something new :) The location is very trendy and updated. Parking here is a little tough(Residential) and you might have to walk a little bit nothing bad at all.

It is right next door to L&E, so post brunch we figured ice cream for dessert would surely hit the spot. Their ice cream looks cool and fun and especially pleasing in pictures, but that’s as special as it gets. I tried 4 different flavors but none of them were to my liking, they all tasted extremely artificially flavored… I got my fill after just a few bites. The one thing I did like about this place is that they have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, and the glass freezer case upon walking in was a nice display.

I love Milk! I don’t live in LA, but I like to make a point to always stop by for one of their Macron Ice Cream Sandwiches. The Thai tea one is by far my favorite(though I love trying their new flavors!). Their cereal themed ones were actually pretty yummy, but were a bit too sweet for me. They do taste EXACTLY like the cereal that coasts the outside, it’s amazeballs. Definitely stop by for a sweet bite if you’re in the area, totally worth the price.

I was so thrilled to finally come to MILK. I’ve heard so many good things about this place from my Cali friends. This was the closest location surrounded by neighborhood and small cute restaurants. This location was in a tiny corner and it can be easily missed. Parking is horrendous if you don’t live around the area. This tiny ice cream dessert place is very functional. They offer coffee, tea, flavored drinks in a bottle I’ve never heard of. And of course, their famous macaron ice cream sandwiches with lots of flavors to choose from! I went straight to the freezer where all the pre made goodies are ready to grab and go. I was feeling a little nutty and chocolatey that day and chose rocky road. I’ve baked macarons before and like other reviews, I did find this macaron too sweet for me. The texture and the thickness to me were perfect! The quality of the ice cream was not there at all. The cocoa from the chocolate was a bit bland but creamy. I love how the rest of the nuts and marshmallow were not too chunky. I ordered the cookies and cream with snickerdoodle cookies over the counter. Oh boy! The combination was overwhelmingly too sweet for my taste buds. I found myself drinking almost 2 cups of water. Thank goodness water is complimentary! They have other desserts such as pudding, cakes, and brownies. After having enough sugar in my system, I could not even dare do a take-out treat before heading back home. Macaron ice-cream sandwiches are so popular nowadays and I find myself seeing them in odd places. Now, I can say I’ve tried MILK in LA but nothing to rave about. The concept of ice cream between overpriced french macarons is definitely an ingenious idea that took the dessert world to a whole new level.

— Locale Destination — It’s on Silverlake Blvd and Effie St in LA. Atmosphere: Small, simple, in white. Menu: ice cream, cookies are like $ 2. Macaron ice cream, very artificial coloring blue cake etc. A bit overpriced for not so high end«quality». From the menu and the toppings and the way they decorates, it reminded me of very«Asian» ice cream place like«Afters» type ones(they all decorate and taste similar with the same toppings). Seen it and done that, so nothing special to me. No uniqueness /originality — that’s what I meant. Service: Normal. You can taste only 2 flavors. Parking: It’s very hard… Don’t risk yourself by parking at 7⁄11 next door. *** Ice Cream Summary *** Texture: Due to the super high sugar content, the texture was soft. I prefer the harder one. I don’t think the base milk(heavy cream) was high quality one. I don’t like it. Sweetness: Way too sweet. You need water — that badly sweetened. Flavors: Kinda reminded me of «Asian» ice cream shops like«Afters». Typical American flavors to «Thai tea». Nothing peculiar nor interesting ones. Not so many varieties, which is good. Taste: Hit & miss. It’s not«sophisticated» like«Bi-rite» and«Neuveux». More like«Mitchell’s» in SF league(bold and pop & mom type. Strong yet not that«high quality» with sophistication). I see some high notes, yet overall quality isn’t that satisfactory. I don’t categorize here as «gourmet» ice cream. Size: One scoop is big. It’s very sweet, so too much for me. — Gluttony Expedition — Coconut: You do taste coconut milk and full flavor of coconut. You can get the coconut bits, too. I wish it were not that sweet. Too sweet, though good flavor. Rocky road: very good and bold chocolate flavor. They must use good quality cocoa powder. But as a whole, it was bleh. Thai tea: A bit too sweet but good & bold flavor. — Conqueror’s Deduction — Good coconut and chocolate flavors, yet as a whole, I’m not satisfied. It was way too sweet and the texture was awful. This isn’t the top league for quality ice cream in LA. Overhyped for what it is. They could improve it if they cut the amount of sugar and use better milk. It has a potential. However, for now, it’s not a good ice cream that I wanna come back. I don’t understand what’s the fuss about it.

I always loved the ice cream at Milk, and I never like to deviate from my choices once I settle on a favorite. But on my last visit, I tried their macaron ice cream sandwich. I can’t believe I had been cheating myself out of this joy for so long~~~ The anger that burns against my own stubborn heart… Whether it’s the coffee, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, or whatever else this place has to offer, I highly recommend a stop if you just need a break… …or a reward for yourself… …or it’s a day of the week that ends with«day»…

Stopped by in LA for a short visit of fam, saw posts from friends about this place. Had to give it a shot. So many different varieties of macaron ice cream sandwiches. Whoever came up with this concept is a genius. I got the red velvet ice cream sandwich. Took my first bite, and it was pretty glorious. The initial crunch of the macaron, to the softer/chewy inside of the macaron, and then to the soft smooth ice cream center. It was a transition of textures that was pretty amazing. Will definitely be coming back whenever I’m in LA

Great ice cream. A little pricey but I guess is the area. They have a variety of not too common ice cream flavors. We tried the strawberry short cake & banana dulce de leche bar and thai tea shake. Both delicious but preferred the banana one I found it more flavorful and better texture. The thai tea shake was very tasty. Can’t wait to go back and try the macaroon ice cream sandwiches.

Unilocal100 review challenge 23⁄100 Milk ice cream had been bookmarked for the longest time. Finally, one off the Unilocal bucket list. Mmm. The mint ice cream was so soft, and perfect texture, great flavor… not overpowering. It tasted so good with a scoop of chocolate. The chocolate tasted like fudge Popsicles. Which I love love loved since I was a kid. Really did hit the spot! No joke!!! I couldn’t pass up all the green treats. Especially since my bestie and I visited on St. Patrick’s day! We indulged in the mini green velvet cupcakes. They were slightly bigger than a size of a quarter. Definitely one bite and gone. But so delicious, that you’ll want another and another and another. The environment was quite charming. A fridge with the frozen macaron sandwiches. The ice cream freezers with so many choices. The fridge on side with various cake slices that were so hard to pass up. Next time must come in for some cake and just milk. There was a bathroom towards back for customers. And huge freezers in back with whole cakes. Where to sit? There were two big benches. I sat Criss cross enjoying my sweet treats with Nubia. After finishing. I sat there waiting for bestie. I heard a voice that was familiar. I looked up and saw his backside. And then he turned and… I was in pure Awww as I was starring at thee RENOWILSON!!! My heart started racing and I quickly asked my girlie if she could take selfies. As he was heading towards the exit I blurted out: «Mr. Wilson can I please get a selfie with you… I’m a huge fan.» Sure enough he was so sweet. He took photos with me and complimented my Echo Park tee. While he was walking out the door I go: «I knew that lucky penny in my shoe I found would be good luck.» Mr. Wilson laughed and joked about lucky pennies. Or perhaps it was my St. Patrick’s day treat. Either way such a great and memorable green day. Will be back. Loved loved the ice cream. And the frequent customers definitely are eye candy. –Parking is a bit of a pain in the bun. Street meter parking or neighborhood parking. Be prepared to walk. –Next to 7eleven. –Corner of Effie and Silverlake.

FOOD — Coffee Toffee Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwich: My first bite of the macaroon was unpleasant. It was so hard! The following bites were chewy. The ice cream was delicious! It had large chunks of toffee. I wish the first bite didn’t throw me off like that. lol. Good but overpriced($ 6). 4⁄5 SERVICE They only allow 2 free samples which is kinda ridiculous. What if I didn’t like either of the samples I tried? The young lady who let me sample the ice cream was not friendly. The young man who took my order was much more welcoming. 3⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS I would come back and try their other baked goods and ice cream.

This Milk location is smaller and has a shorter line than the Fairfax location. Street parking and kind of in an unexpected area. Best macaron ice cream sandwiches I’ve tried so far. They serve some baked goods, ice cream, macaron ice cream sandwiches, plenty of drinks – basically anything to satisfy your sweet tooth. Highlights: + blue velvet cake +fruity pebbles macaron ice cream sandwich + banana dulce macaron ice cream sandwich + caramel latte There are so many other sweets I want to try here(like the tres leches cake!) but I can never stay away from the macaron ice cream sandwiches here. I love how consistent the macarons are and how perfectly fit to flavor both the macaron and the ice cream taste. Any time I’m in the area, Milk is simply a must.
