A pleasant place to stop by on the way to work in the morning. Around 8 or 9 the smells of fresh baked is soooo much nicer than the smell of a donut shop. Ask the friendly guy which are still warm, back in your car spread a handy towel on your lap and the rest of the drive becomes pretty mellow. The bun with chestnuts is a little hardy for some, but it is very tasty. The white bread with cream spread is like a sandwich of butter cream frosting but lighter and less sweet. or, for the less adventurous, there are some very pleasant slightly sweet yeast breads… The various bean buns are tasty altho an acquired taste, truly a taste worth acquiring.

Easily my favorite bakery in Koreatown. The best boba bread you can get!

This place is right next to Chunju so we stopped by before heading over for dinner. It was after 7:30pm so all the breads for 50% off. The guy cleaning up was so helpful, ushering us over to the freshest baked bread they had that day. I picked up 3 different Korean buns — one had red bean, another had a crispy pineapple crust, and a third was a mix of red bean and mochi. He even gave me and my friends a free bread for good measure! That was nice of him. My 3 buns cost me less than $ 2, what a steal! The breads here were soft, but nothing outstanding that I haven’t had before. I’d definitely come here again if I were in the area, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get bakery goods here.

I guess its a korean thing or a work thing to bring a round of korean pastries upon returning from vacation. I have been informerly introduced to this idea as everyone that has gone on vacation seems to bring pastries from here. They have all the typical korean pastries ranging from red bean, green tea, sweet cream, and pumpkin filled ones to fried ones with mixed fillings, or other sweet or savoury pastries. I think I saw one that looked like a pizza and one that had a hot dog in it. One of my favs is gombo bbang(in my own spelling). It has no filling and is round with a sweet crust on top. I guess next year when I can take actually go on vacation I shall be making a stop here on my return to work.
