Cute! I enjoyed it even with people sprawled out totally unmindful of others trying to walk by. Easy to find and I disagree with others– my calves felt it!

Saw these steps from the patio at Alfred. Recognized them from an episode of Love on Netflix. Decided to walk up them and I have no regrets. Cool view and another reason why I love Silverlake

This is a nice little place I’m glad I got to see. This was my first visit to Silverlake and I was pleased to find that there’s such a nice place close to DTLA that’s greener, not as crazy and noisy. I was also surprised to see that parking was way cheaper and plenty of parking meters were available on a Saturday afternoon/evening,

I’ve seen these stairs featured in various LA magazines. I never knew where they were and I happened to be walking along Sunset in Los Feliz and saw them. They make me happy… I love the hearts and colors. Facing Muddy Paws coffee shop, they are to your right.

I went to Micheltorena School, which is at the bottom of these stairs, just across Sunset Blvd; I did these stairs from the top, at Winslow Drive, every school day, and also going to Scout meetings at the school, going out to shop and catch the bus, sixty seven years ago. The easy way, going down, is to slide down the steel railing you can see in the pictures. My sister always wondered how the seat of my Jeans kept wearing out. For a number of years, people living next to the stairs commandeered the steps by blocking them with potted plants; you couldn’t go up and down. The pictures of the painted stairs are interesting, makes them look more fun.

Hidden off to the side between buildings, you can definitely drive pass these steps if you don’t look for them! Like many other Unilocalers have noted, it is DIRECTLY across the street from the Café so it’s probably easier to find the café and then look across the street(haha). Fed the parking meter(don’t waste your quarters for more than 15 mins top if you don’t plan to walk up and down a couple times to get your workout) and just walked all the way to the top. Sadly, we noticed that graffiti littered the colored in hearts which kind of sucks for others to enjoy. But starting at the bottom looking up, the flight of stairs looks higher, but we were able to get to the top fairly quick even with stopping and pausing every so often to read the notes other people have tagged on the steps or on the fences. Once you get to the top, look up across the street and the stairs actually continue upward all the way to the top of the closed off street above. You can definitely walk up these flight of steps in 10 minutes and it doesn’t even look or feel like 250 steps(which i didn’t even bother to count). So we went up and down a couple more times to work out our legs before heading to breakfast. Just something nice to check out to see what it looks like but definitely not a workout unless you work really hard to make it one.

sure you can probably walk up and down these steps in 10 mins BUT it will totally KICKYOURBUTT!!! Don’t let the rainbow colored steps with stencil painted hearts fool you! Although super cute :) and great photo op! I could only tackle three rotations. My legs were feeling like noodles at the end. Its a great free workout and you can find these stairs along sunset blvd and micheltorena st, across the street from Alfred’s Coffee. The best parking and free is on Golden Gate Ave, along side the elementary school. so if you happen to pass by, give it a shot! step, step, step in the name of love.

You’ll stumble upon this hidden staircase across the street from Alfred Coffee. Stairs are painted with bright colors and cute hearts, I call it the Stairway to Love. Perfect to snap a few photos! Drive one block past and park on Golden Gate Ave, there’s plenty of free parking.

Hidden gem right across from Alfred coffee shop. Get a coffee at Alfred’s and hit 200 steps at micheltorena. It’s great for taking some cute photos and also for enjoying the view from the top.

A flight of stairs that’ll work your legs! 250 graffitied steps wedged between buildings, this secret staircase offers a quick 10-minute workout. Stretch your workout to half an hour and run up and down to kills your legs. Difficulty level is probably 2(only while going up the steps). I fed the parking meter a few quarters because I thought it would take me long to conquer these steps. But I was bummed out when I got to the top of the stairs in just 10 minutes. Lucky guy parking in my spot later got free parking for an hour.

A set of 205 steps from top to bottom in the heart of Silverlake area between Silverlake Blvd & Winslow Drive. My friends & I decided to climb these set of stairs a few days ago. If you haven’t worked out in awhile(like me), you will be huffing & puffing while you’re climbing these steps. Your shins & calves muscles will be burning & sore. Don’t worry, it’s only temporary. Walk it off & you’ll be alright. Bring water to hydrate yourself while climbing these steps. Parking can be a hassle especially on the weekends.
