I’m not sure what the lower star reviews are about. The food here has always been fantastic. The salsas are great and the queso fundido is incredible. Can’t go wrong here… Enjoy!

If you want tacos delivered you better specify HARDSHELL. Otherwise you’ll just get meat in a box and a tiny side of onions. So basically not a taco.

Two words: food poisoning. I’ve been coming here pretty regularly, but after last night I never will again. I’ve felt sick other times after picking up food here, but I’ve always attributed it to over-eating or maybe something I’d eaten earlier. Now, I’m MAJORLY questioning the food safety at this place. It’s been many many years since I’d experienced food poisoning this bad. I’m talking stomach cramps that felt like a knife was swirling deep inside me and nausea causing some pretty graphic things. Gross. Yeah… Sadly, I read through some other reviews, and I’m not the only one to get food poisoning here. I’m still fairly new to the neighborhood, and I had no idea of the reputation. I’ve eaten here many times, but getting sick THIS bad once is enough to make me never want to risk it again. I used to love the enchiladas here, but I don’t love paying $ 14 for a sleepless night of vommiting and stomach churning. Avoid this place if you love yourself.

This has the worst mexican food. Waiting was more than 40 mins. Chicken fajitas was salty. This place is way over priced… Please avoid this

Ordered a carne asada plate with an enchilada. Asada was ok, nothing amazing. But the cheese in the enchilada was amazing! Each bite it got better. Also ordered their house margarita which wasnt too shabby either. Complimentary chips with two salsas. Prices are a bit high considering you can find mexican food everywhere in L.A. Prompt seating and service. Very dim lighting so if you go during the evening it will be extremely dim. Very small parking lot in rear. Not in a rush to return.

A very cool little diner atmosphere Mexican restaurant. Nice diner style booth seating. Good for kids. The in house made chips are awesome, just wished they would have been warm. You get 2 flavors of salsa w your chips, they were both pretty tasty, I liked the red best. The house margarita on the rocks is very good. The guacamole is really good and comes in a little boat. Chicken burrito was standard nothing special. Very expensive for what you get. A bit overpriced. One person, one house margarita, one burrito, ½ guacamole $ 34. A bit high I’d say.

Was looking for a quick place to stop for something to eat after a hike in Griffith Park and noticed this place. Grabbed a seat at the bar(the bar area is way cuter than the restaurant part) and took the waiter’s recommendation of trying the chicken mole enchiladas. And wow was I in for a surprise! That was some excellent mole! Smoky with a hint of sweetness. The house margarita was okay – a little pricier than I expected in such a dive-y looking place.

Vegetarian refried beans!!! Need I say more??? I like the mole. The margaritas are better than many and handmade even during happy hour. The guacamole could use some fixing… But the happy hour menu can’t be beat. What really gets me about this place are the vegetarian options!!!

I absolutely love this place. I could pig out on the chips and salsa for hours!!! Seriously, so authentic! I love the margaritas here, they can make you just about any margarita you could think of! *there aren’t many options for vegetarians but you can tweak a few of the dishes they have and ask them to make it meat free! Service is great, always so friendly and attentive! Try the margarita pitchers!

Excellent Tacos al pastor. My food was prepared relatively quickly. The service was a bit on the slow side though, and the meal cost more than it probably should have. Still four stars for the quality of the food.

My family and I have been going here for years. We have a lil love hate relationship with this place. The chicken chili relleno, pibil, mole, nopales, margaritas and salsa are great. The service is moderate mostly because they are understaffed. Friday night feels like having drinks at preschool cuz of the many kids. The ceviche is gross with pre-cooked fish in ketchup and mayo. After 10 plus years of frequenting here and seeing the owners many times, I have little love for the ownership of this place. Any complaint to the owner in the past was dismissed with arrogance. We have boycotted the restaurant in the past but still find ourselves coming back when craving some of the best Mexican food in LA.

My second or third time here. It was fairly busy for 19:30 but were seated promptly. Chips and salsas arrived quickly as did menus. Very bad lighting to read and eat by especially if not seated near a window. Neither of us drink so ordered nearly straight away. The menu is hipster Mexican and I ordered the special which was a rellano filled with chicken, topped with a cream sauce with finely ground walnuts. It was delicious. I ordered a side of mole which surprised the waiter. I give it only a three because of the FREEZINGAIRCONDITIONING and the rather dim lighting. Not a pleasant environment to linger in. Wear jeans!!!

Was in neighborhood and recommended to go here. Easy parking and fantastic service– upbeat friendly waiter. I had queso fundido– one my favorites, despite its apparent lack of health benefits. It was very good, as well as the chips and salsa. What is the real test off Mexican restaurants is the margaritas– and this one was good, but nothing memorable. Overall, a good local place, if lived in area would go frequently — but I don’t.

Ok… so it’s been a while since we’ve been here. The last time was about 6 months or so ago and felt the service has declined back then. To my dismay the same thing happened again today! The restaurant was probably about 5 – 6 tables full, which is only about a quarter of the restaurant. I saw 1 server and I think the other 2 were bus boys and maybe a food runner? Well anyways, it wasn’t crowded at all so they should have been able to manage the 5 – 6 tables(3 – 4 people per table except for 1 with 6 I think). I asked for refills on salsa for our food. The waiter said ok… then he proceeds to move to another table to take their order before getting our salsa and took FOREVER to get their order placed bc they were just lame and didn’t know wth to order! And after that, the waiter then started helping another customer and getting his refill 1st! WTF? Well, after over what seems like about 15 minutes I had to finally start waving my hands several times to try to get their attention, and then having yell out«excuse me» several times to probably each person on the floor to be ignored and unnoticed(being seated in the middle of these tables fyi) to NO response at all! I finally had to get up and walk over to the serving area and ask for our salsa before we finished our meal. FINALLY it came out after all that. Then, as our chip dish was empty they didn’t even ask us or assume we needed a refill, and finally got that as well. BUT, if you took a look at our empty glasses you would assume someone would come and refill it with water or ice tea. After about 20 mins of not being able to get their attention again, we had to demand for refills. Omg, really… One of my biggest pet peaves is bad service! ! As for the food, I always like their thick chips, green salsa was ok, and the red salsa was pretty good, and the $ 3.00 habanero salsa they made us pay for was not that spicy at all. What happened? It used to be super spicy! And the food… was just ok. Idk if it’s under new ownership/management but I feel the overall quality of food and service has majorly declined. To no offense to anyone, but when you don’t see any or many«ethnic» people eating here… well I guess that is a sign. Will I eat here again? .Maybe…but I will have to give it a rest for a long while. I give you one more chance Mexico City and I hope I can change my review, then. But for now, sorry… from a 3 star to now a 2 is pretty bad.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to have dinner and so happy with the find! Complimentary chips and salsa was really good! We ate 2 baskets! My only concern is that they refill the salsa bowls instead of bringing us new bowls. I’m a bit of a germaphobe. It was Tuesday night so I enjoyed 2 enchiladas with rice and beans for $ 10. The mole verde and mole poblano was so good! Service was at an appropriate pace and I never had to ask for refills. Our server was friendly. My friends all enjoyed their food. It was a bonus to watch the game on the TV. If I’m in the area again, I’ll be back.

Nope. Just nope. 50 dollars for 2 chicken enchiladas that tasted pre-frozen with rice and beans, 2 carnitas tacos with rice and beans, and 3 sub-par margaritas… during happy hour. The first margarita I ordered was weak and flavor-less and I had to send it back. The others were better, but I had to down it due to the gross food and needed the alcoholic effect. I was warned that it was bad, but I always insisted on coming. So we went. Worst Cinco de Mayo ever. Now to go to Albertsons to buy Bud Light’s Straw-ber-ritas that taste better for a fraction of the price.

I would come here even before I moved to LA. Momz introduced me when I was still a sweet lil teenager. Just kidding, I was never sweet. Their salsas they bring out are bomb af. I go back and forth between the red and green trying to decide which one is better. Then I am stuffed on chips and salsa and still haven’t picked the winner. I usually get the chicken enchiladas with mole. I f*cking love mole. Like so much… so much. They have a pretty good margarita too, they’re not green. Just FYI margaritas shouldn’t be green. Those mixers are gross. Be a respectable human and never use those nasty mixers. Waiters are good.

The 3-star rating is accurate: it’s A-OK. Nothing terribly bad about it, but nothing stellarly great about it either. The salsa is refreshing, the drinks feel fresh. Our waiter was attentive. I think the price of this place is high considering the food, though. The food was average with a more-than-average price point. I didn’t see a price for chips and salsa, like another review had! Maybe they didn’t order anything else? I don’t know, that’s weird. I think in a city that offers SOMANYMEXICANOPTIONS and better ones for cheaper, I’m not sure I’d go back.
