Does not work here anymore. Hasn’t worked here in over a year :/

I went to Melissa when I was in college at UCLA. To this day, she is the only person who has been able to cut my hair exactly the way I wanted! I tried to go to other stylists who were cheaper, but sorely have regretted my decision. Now I live up in the bay area, and am still on the hunt for a great stylist. I saw online that she’s in San Jose! Does anyone know where she is?!

Melissa is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. She does great work every time and always seems to know exactly what I want after giving her a couple rough ideas. She’s cut my hair twice now after I asked for some more dramatic, choppy layers and they’re excellent. I recently got highlights from her as well which I’m always nervous about, but they’re beautiful and so well blended, not streaky at all.
Almost as important as the exceptional work she does is how amiable and cheerful she is! She’s such a fun person to be around and she makes getting my hair cut very enjoyable. I’ll continue to see her to get my hair cut and colored for as long as she’s in the business!

Melissa is great when you want a funky haircut. I have gone twice for a pretty drastic change and have been very happy with how it looks immediately after as well as how it grows through time. I love being able to get up and go and Melissa understands that having a fun hair style does not mean you need tons of hair products.
She’s also very nice and gives great massages when she washes your hair!

After seeing you on sunday, you did a consultation and that made me even more confident than after already reading the reviews.
I came with my awfull damaged color hair and get out with a great color hair cut ! It;s to bad I cannot show my before /​after pictures to see how you work!
You are professionnal, explain everything you will do and when you are doing it. I’m normally nervous to go to hairdresser, mine is in France where I come from but I won’t go for a while.
I had a good time during the 2 hours, I loved speaking with you.

People ask, «Are you good at managing your hair or do you just have a really good haircut?»
The fact is: My hair is very hard to manage and shows every mistake.
Melissa listens to what you want… and if you aren’t sure what you want, you can trust her to do things right anyway! She’s a fantastic stylist and gives me cuts that allow my stick-​straight hair to move. As a colorist, she’s awesome — can’t be beat for natural looking color and great highlights! I get compliments on my hair color and cut frequently.
Best of all, because of who Melissa is – kind, upbeat, gentle, fun, and simply a beautiful person — when you leave you’ll not only look great, but you’ll feel confident and serene.

I love Melissa! I travel almost 80 miles all together for her!
She listens to what i want to do with my hair-​i hate getting hair cuts and she is very respectful of not taking off too much in length but takes off just enough it keep my hair healthy! She also does an amazing job highlighting my hair – always looks natural!

Melissa is amazing! I read the reviews on here, made an appointment, and in a brave moment told Melissa to do whatever she wanted to my hair… that she had complete artistic license to do as she wished.
What I received was the best haircut ever. She is a phenomenal artist and now I can understand why her clients fly in to see her. She’s truly irreplaceable.
There used to be a review on here that said the woman was flying into LA to get her haircut from Melissa (apparently older reviews fall off the wall). That review is what sold me in the first place. If I ever move from LA, I will be flying in to see her as well.

Melissa is amazing. I have been looking for a good stylist in LA for years, and I am so thankful I found her. I went to her with a horrendous haircut, not knowing what to do with it and she did an amazing job with it. I’ve been going to her every since and every time I walk out of there I couldn’t be happier.

I am sort of hesitant about putting this review up because I don’t want it to be any more difficult to get an appointment with Melissa! Well, here goes. This is HANDS DOWN the BEST haircut I have ever had in my life! Not only that, her color is superb. This woman knows what she is doing. I love her. Yes, I said it! I love Melissa!

I did the unthinkable … leave my hairdresser of seven years … GASP! I was so terrified to go to someone else, but after a chain of lackluster haircuts, I had to make the change. It was a week before I had to be in a wedding and I put all my trust into Melissa. The haircut was superb and the color was natural but phenomenal. On top of that, what used to take hours in the salon sitting with you hair in those terrible heat helmets, took only an hour! Melissa appreciates every one of her clients. She appreciate our time, money and our desire to look the best. I can’t emphasize everyone’s review of her personality. One of the most genuine, kind and easy going people I’ve met in long while. Just a pleasure to spend time with. Five stars, Melissa B is «as good as it gets!»
