Have a craving for a hot dog with the works or a special type of hot dog? Well, you gotta check out this place! Creative hot dogs with a fluffy and crispy bread. The corn dog is also a must try.

I’m a huge hot dog fan so I truly wanted to love Meea’s but I’m sad to say it was very disappointing. Initially my visit to Meea’s was promising… I noticed the nice outdoor dining area and when we entered Meea’s we were warmly greeted by the young man at the counter. After ordering our food/drinks(service was pleasant and courteous), we sat at a table in the tranquil outdoor dining area. A few minutes later, our order was delivered. Let me start with the positive… the tater tots were terrific! Fried to perfection with a light sprinkling of salt. But unfortunately execution of our four hot dogs(chili, mushroom, southland and chicago) was ok at best. First, the hot dogs… yes, they are Hoffy’s but not all Hoffy’s are alike. Know there are many different types of Hoffy dogs you could be serving, and of course a snappy dog is my personal preferences but I can’t imagine anyone wanting one of your tasteless, limp dogs. Clearly you are serving a «run of the mill» product. Two, with the exception of the Chicago dog, the bread was a brioche-type sweet bread. perhaps a sweet bread might work with dogs with certain toppings, it was awful on our dogs with the exception of the mushroom dog. Similar to a great deli, don’t be lazy and serve all your dogs one one type of bread(with the exception of the Chicago Dog which was appropriately served on a poppy seed bun) but select a bread type that complements the meat and toppings. Three, although our hot dogs looked great when they were delivered, my 13 y.o. son summed it up best… the toppings seemed to be sitting on top of the hot dog and really didn’t combine with the meat and bread. As with a good deli, it’s important to understand how to «stack» your meat and other condiments on a sandwich and the same applies to hot dog toppings. For instance, execution of your southland dog would be significantly improved if the bacon was not sprinkled on top but wrapped around the hot dog as any good«L.A.» dog… it completely changes the flavor experience/profile. Many new quasi-hipster eateries have this insatiable need to always attempt to «kick it up» on some classic dishes and they too often fail which unfortunately is the case with Meea’s. At the end of the day, a great hot dog is a bun and meat. When you think about the some of the great hot dogs throughout the country, that’s all it is, and they’ve been doing it for years! When I consider some of the great hot dogs joints I’ve been to(Hot Doug’s & Super Dawg(Chicago), Top Dog(Berkeley), Fab’s(Reseda), Monster Dog’s(Seattle), Lafayette Coney island(Detroit), Crif Dog’s(New York)) it all starts and ends with terrific bread and a great hot dog, no matter what you add to it. Please re-evaluate because I so want to love Meea’s.

we made our own dog with bacon, pico de gallo, guac, jalepeno with a side of chili since everyone was raving about how good it was one, the service was friendly but extremely slow our dog sat on the counter for awhile before it was picked up and the toppings were added second, the pico and guac were terrible — bland and a little old tasting the dog itself was fine, but nothing special the bun was also boring the bacon and jalepeno did nothing to save the dog overall, i’ve definitely have had better

Extremely delicious hot dogs, with several great styles to choose from. I enjoyed eating on their patio… nicely landscaped.

I tried this quaint little spot on a Friday evening with my 8 year old daughter. She had the kid’s meal(they were able to accommodate her request of adding chili to her hot dog) and I tried the Southland. My hot dog was good, the jalapenos gave it a little extra pop… maybe a little too much mayo, but I didn’t indicate I wanted light mayo, so my fault. We ate outside in their cute patio area. I didn’t see the parking lot at first so I parked in the Taco Bell lot and asked about parking. Kevin, the cashier who helped us was so nice, he walked me outside to show me exactly how to enter the parking lot(it’s before the building itself, but looks like it could belong to the adjacent building). He was so courteous and helpful too. Before I could throw our trash away, he was already there, insisting he do it for me. He’s a keeper of an employee. :)

Hotdogs and Fries 4 or 5 star. But let me explain the one star. I wanted to try a rootbeer float. I had taken my family for dogs. After I tasted the float, I could tell it was made from diet-rootbeer, which gives me a headache. And pretty yuky. I just never have been able to drink diet type drinks. I went inside and asked if it was made from diet, and they said yes. I told them neither me nor my family like diet rootbeer. Seemed odd to serve that as the default. I was told that they could remake it, but I would have to pay extra… I had already paid $ 4.00 for a pretty small glass. I said that maybe they should have a sign or something so people will know, why assume everyone drinks diet by default? I mean… its a float! Anyway. i refused to pay the extra fee and I did not finish the float. That said, I won’t be going back. Too bad. I like a good dog once in a while The co-owner I think it was… well…I asked him if HE liked diet soda. He said its not his preference. DUH…just really quite unbelievable any business would operate like that these days. How much was it going to cost him to give me a real float…25 cents? One star.

This place has become my favorite spot for interesting hot dogs. Definitely try the Eagle Rock, which has avocado, kimchi, and pork rinds, and their take on the standard LA dog(bacon-wrapped with grilled onions and jalapeños) is maybe the best I’ve ever had.

Delicious. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Mushroom and Southern California with Arnold Palmers and fries. Sat in the shade and munched away. Clean plate rangers. Staff accommodating and friendly, brought food to our outside table. No seating indoors, but a lovely outdoor space sheltered from the street that feels like a private garden.

Extremely Tasty. Today, my brother and I ate lunch here. The dogs are superior to other hot-dog places. Slightly costly, but it’s a *lot* to eat, so you’ll be full when you leave – so it’s a good ROI. For some reason, I *love* me a chili dog and tater tots :-) Round it out with a cool cup of cole slaw; how can it get better than that? While eating, I talked to a couple at the next table; they got THREE hot dogs because they wanted to try various choices. She told me of a dog with Siracha sauce – she made it sound so good, I can’t wait to try that one.

Great selection and all fresh ingredients. We tried a few different dogs and chili fries. the dogs were all good, Slaw, Mexicana and Seattle. The cole slaw is some of the best I have had, could use a bit of a kick but super fresh and creamy. The buns appear to be all homemade light fluffy and hold up to the other ingredients on the dogs. The outside dining was fabulous with lots of seats and a beautiful So Cal day to enjoy it. The ONLY downfalls were parking was hard to find on the street and the signage out front need to be clearer. The chili cheese fries were a disappointment. they use very thin shoestring potatoes so not much potato, they were on the dry side and cheese was skimped on. Next time we get the tater tots for sure Definitely worth the trip for the dogs

I have many reviews in my queue, however I want to write this review as it surprised me. First, I rarely to never eat hot dogs. It’s not that I don’t like hot dogs, it’s just I was never a big fan of them. Probably since I was a fat kid growing up… Anyways, I stumbled on Meea’s hot dog by accident while driving to my friends place. Meea’s is a small shop but there is ample outside seating. Basically, you order from the counter and they will bring the food to you outside. There are many pre-made hot dogs to select from. From the Chicago, New York to the Eagle Rock. If you don’t find one you like, you can DIY. I ordered the Chicago and sweet potato fries. The Chicago dog was amazing. The mixture of ingredients simply go well in your mouth. The sweet potato fries are served with honey… yum! I met the co-owner Edgar who is a really cool chap. The wait time and service here is fast and excellent. There is a private parking lot or find parking on the street. I will definitely return to try another dog.

I went here with great expectations and came out satisfied but not impressed. I figured if im going to pay for a hotdog i would like for it to be better than what i can make in kitchen in under 5 min. Place has a really nice patio, so if youre with the family and want a nice outdoor area to eat this establishment will suffice.

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I have been here 4x in the past few weeks. When I brought my husband here(Who LOVED it), he posted pics on Facebook and now I’ve had to come back with other friends who saw the pics. I still have only had the Chicago Dog, My Favorite! However, I’ve now tried the chili cheese tator tots. Awesome. And the funnel cake. So Good. They sprinkle powdered sugar and you can add chocolate drizzle or strawberry(its syrupy and I wouldn’t recommend the strawberry). This food reminds me of the fairs in the Midwest. Other hits with my friends have been the Seattle Dog.

Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock is home to a growing number of restaurants and bars and Meea’s has added themselves to the list. Their specialty… hot dogs! One of the great, and under utilized perks of this establishment is the umbrella’d seating area outside. Pick up a Chi-town or Seattle dog from one of the super friendly servers and sit outside with a few friends(I would add«a beer» but alas no liquor license. Prices are what I would consider a little above reasonable. $ 5.25 for a Chicago, $ 5.75 for a chili dog, but the location was cool and it was a break from the other places in the area. Located next to Taco Bell. Parking: I heard they have a small, private lot. Theres plenty of street parking in the neighborhood though.

Came up on this place totally by accident. I happened to park right in front of it while going to another business in the area. I saw their sign and told my friend we would check it out on our way back. This is the best find I’ve made in a while. I was totally impressed with this place. This is the BEST dog place I’ve ever encountered. Yup, I said, it, the BEST. You can’t even compare it to something like Pinks, which is also great. Mea’s is more of a deluxe version. The ingredients are top notch and the presentation is spectacular. See pics! These guys bake their own buns on the premises. I think it really adds to how great these dog gone dogs are! I had the Chicago dog. It was plenty filling and it tasted as good as it looked. My friend had the New York dog. She loved it. They have a great selection of dogs, even a kiddie dog, a corn dog, and a breakfast dog. They also have a veggie dog that they make on the premises. We split one order of tater tots between three people, and it was plenty. We took our food to go, so tater tots travel much better than fries… and dogs travel better than burgers. I met the co-owner Edgar. Great guy. I always feel great about supporting a small business when the people who run it are so cool! Huge bonus: They have a really nice patio area. I mean really nice. The kind where you could meet a group of people there and you’d feel great about being there. Want another bonus? Ok here it is: When I checked in on Unilocal,I received a 10% off instant coupon! How’s that for a bonus!

I HATEHOTDOGS!!! Having said that, I LOVE Meea’s! Amazing kareoke by the staff, always a smile and great service. «Love the Seattle street dog» as per my 12 year old son. I like the Eagle Rock(anytime papaya and pork rinds, crazy!) my husband likes the dog that is so unforgettable he forgot the name. But he swears it’s his favorite. We’ve been coming here since it opened. The food never disappoints. The best hotdog ever! Good tots. The best thing that Meea’s has going for it is the amazing sauce patio. I want to host a bar b q here with a DJ! Hmmmmm

Why waste my time? I came to Meea’s excited to try a new hot dog place, but to my chagrine, found they decided to close early. So much for being professional. I left the warmth of my house on a rainy night for this? Thanks for nothing! Dog Haus in Pasadena may be a bit further, but at least they’re open when they say they are. Hope this is just bad employees making poor choices, because if it’s the owner deciding to leave his customers hanging, he/she won’t be doing it for long.

OK, so you have«The World’s Best Hot Dogs» at various locations across this city, and across the country. In L.A. we’ve got Tommy’s, Larry’s, Cupids, and of course, Pinks. But if the hot dog elite, and those that write about hot dogs, just took a short drive slightly northeast, they would realize right away that they’ve been wrong. Very wrong. In a nondescript little building(with a very big patio) on Colorado between Eagle Rock and Pasadena sits Meea’s and inside are the best damn hot dogs you, or I, have ever tasted. On this, our first visit, we chose two very different dogs and shared. The first, Seattle’s Street, was a crisp dog on a homemade bun with cream cheese, sauerkraut, grilled onions and brown mustard. Yes, cream cheese. The second, and my vote for best dog ever, was the Early Bird, with tater tots, bacon, a little bit of cheese, and, wait for it… A fried egg. Absolutely, positively, incredible. Along with a side of tater tots and two drinks, the total tab was about 18 bucks. We wanted to, but just couldn’t eat another bite. And the next time I get a craving for a hot dog, I won’t have to drive to Melrose or the Westside. Just minutes from me in Eagle Rock is the newly crowned Best Hot Dog in the World.

Woah mamma these dogs are hot! They are not to be taken for granted. The staff will bring your new best friend out to the patio. The patio is a huge perk as you can bring your own beer outside. Say whaaaaat? Yeah. So. There. Beer and dogs, I’m sold. The dogs pack a punch and the options are pretty creative. I got the Eagle Rock Dog which comes with pickled papaya, avocado, Sriracha, and pork rinds. I skipped the last part, but it was a fantastic bite. I’ve also tried the Chicago Dog and the Corn Dog, both respectable, yet a little pricey. They have to pick up the pace though, these are still hot dogs. Every time I’ve been here it’s taken over ten minutes to get my dawwwwwg, and no one is even in line. A few more mustard options would be cool huh? Check it out. You’ll find this place adjacent to Taco Bell.

Location Located in the heart of Eagle Rock. Meea’s is right on Colorado and is located right next to Taco Bell and the Italian Bakery while sitting directly across the street from Domino’s Pizza. There isn’t much seating inside and I would advise others to venture out into their outdoor seating area. There are numerous tables outside which are conveniently shaded with«hoffy» umbrellas making eating outdoors that much nicer. There is also an area without chairs and with grass where I suppose one could lay out a blanket and have a picnic. Food Their menu isn’t big but it isn’t quite small either. I tried their Chi-town dog which was sweet and salty. The relish was deliciously accompanied by sea salted tomato wedges which toned down the hardiness of the Hoffy hot dog. I really liked that they sliced that dog into two. It made a world of difference when eating it. My boyfriend got their Sunrise dog and seems to REALLY enjoy it. We opted to share chili cheese tots which was smart on our part because the serving size is shareable. Staff Super friendly Overall A lovely addition to Eagle Rock. The food is good, the staff is nice, the prices are reasonable, and its local; what more could you ask for?
