Excellent Italian food! Perfect lunch portions! Their pesto pasta is delicious! The owner is also very nice and helpful. He makes everything sound delicious.

Best food I have had off any truck so far. I had the Combo — Chicken Panini and the Arugula Salad. Everything was excellent. I thought the value was good($ 13) as the amount of food was generous. It also appeared to me that they were meticulous in the preparation. Nice job Mealano.

Pro: super friendly italian guy with great customer service. Food ingredients are fresh. Cons: taste are just alright, gnocchi seems abit underseasoned, sandwich get a little soggy Maybe it’s just this time around, I might give is another try next time if I’m hungry enough and there’s nothing better around

Really solid. Had the bolognese — perfect al dente, fresh sauce, fresh basil on top. Substantial portion. Plus the staff was super friendly. Please come back to the neighborhood soon!

Small menu, but totally focused. Result is a FANTASTIC lunch! So many food trucks have fancy graphic wraps and hipster vibe, but just meh overpriced food. This truck is genuinely fantastic Italian, with quality, fresh ingredients, expertly made with detailed care. I had two paninis — the chicken and the beef. Both were on fresh, perfectly matched bread, and came with such details as caramelized onions, pesto on the chicken, roasted tomatoes on the beef… Yum. Was it cheap? No, they were $ 10 and $ 11. But it’s quality ingredients and that’s what you pay for.

A refreshing change from all the other food trucks in L. A!!! Being Italian myself, I am a harsh critic when Italian restaurants claim to be «authentic» but I can tell you that Mealano Food Truck is as authentic, delicious, fresh and 100% Italian as it gets! They have GLUTENFREEPASTA which is a nothing short of a miracle and also VEGAN options that cater to the needs of many Angelenos. If you want a slice of heaven, try the Spinach Ricotta Ravioli with Genovan Pesto sauce or the Sicilian Sautéed Calamari & Shrimp. The Artisan Bread used for the assortment of panini’s practically melts in your mouth. I had to have a taste of everything my friends ordered. We all asked Lorenzo(the owner & head chef) when the restaurant would be opening because we want Mealano Food to expand it’s menu. It can only get better from here. Great start. I will follow you @Mealanofood to see where you’ll be on a daily basis. A+!

Drey had the lasagne and I had the gluten free calamari and grilled chicken salad, both were divine and let me just say that the pesto dressing is to die for and Drey loved the lasagne along with the fresh olive bread… You must try, it was excellent and I was raised in a big Italian family where everything was made from scratch, doesn’t get any better than this, I promise you!!!

Recommend for when you want some authentic italian pasta. Had the sciliano, perfectly al dente pasta, and sauce made using fresh tomatoes. Portion was a bit small, but expected considering the style of food they’re serving.

Ignore the bad review for the Caprese salad. I’m here just after the review with my family of five. Organic food casts more and it’s worth it. Freshly made Italian by an Italian chef? Fresh pasta from a food truck? Excellent convivial service. Well worth seeking out, delicious food! I hate misleading bad Unilocal reviews! Trust me this is great Italian. Try the panini — fresh focaccia my daughter destroyed! I had the fresh spaghetti with eggplant. Reminded me of eating in Tuscany!

Just got food from here — looks like they recently launched and I really hate to be the first to leave a review and it be bad, but I feel like this is warranted. First let me say, ups for offering something different. A ton of food trucks come near my office daily and all the food is more or less the same taco, Thai, burger selection. While I really like their concept(Italian!) and the food was good, I hope they revisit their pricing and/or portions. I ordered a caprese salad, which I already thought was a bit pricey at $ 10 but figured it would be an entrée size since it was listed as a salad and not an app. I was so incredibly wrong. What I received was three small slices of mozzarella(yes, three), five tomato slices, and three basil leaves. Let me repeat, I paid $ 10 for this. Like okay fine organic ingredients, buffalo mozz, blah blah blah. And yeah sure restaurants are constantly overcharging for caprese salads, but you are a food truck. As Drake would say: know yourself.
