Mariscos Los Kabo’s Sport Bar

I’ve been on hiatus but have returned bearing inebriated gifts! I have found a hidden gem in the outskirts of Koreatown. Located on the Southeast corner intersection of Beverly Blvd and Normandie resides Los Kabo’s Sports Bar. This is a bonafide sports bar cantina:
Patrons: Loud older Latino Men, most of them jaded but harmless and very respectful if you walk in with a lady friend.
Décor: Black walls with purple lighting. This location was previously a gentlemen’s club and if you look up you will notice where the stripper pole mount was ripped apart.
Drink selection: Currently, this is a beer bar only. The owner, very friendly hard working gentlemen, is working on expanding the bar from within and earning a full liquor license.
Los Kabos has a flagship Michelada that’s the best I’ve ever had. I know I’ve said this before but I kid you not, this place prepares the best Michelada mix from scratch and it’s to die for. I highly recommend the Michelada.
Music: Digital Jukebox with both English and Spanish. Hint: As far as English music is concerned, the locals love Rod Stewart. Anything else, your asking for trouble so if your the unruly type the armed Security will kick you out.
Security: Armed Security from 6pm to 12am.
Hours: 12:00PM — 12:00AM, last call for alcohol runs about 11:30PM.
Ambience: Loud but chill. Everyone keeps to themselves and their clicks. When i first walked in I got the up and down and you could hear a bottle cap fall to the floor. After a few visits I was accepted with welcoming arms.
Hospitality: Great customer service. The bar is an all female staff who are very friendly. Celeste is my favorite bartender. She makes all new customers feel very comfortable. Angie is also a favorite, she is very polite and always serves you with a smile.
Parking: Parking is a nightmare. I highly recommend riding Über and this bar is a great early bar crawl bar.
Transactions: Takes cash and debit/​credit card. American Express even I think…
Entertainment: Besides all the funny older drunks, this is a sports bar with 5 large television flat screens. NBA, NFL, NHL, EURO SOCCER.
