Excellent truck food. Made in front of the client with natural and healthy ingredients.

An unique style to shrimp tacos. The fried shimp taco is one to try. Don’t come expecting the frills of a restaurant.

These idiots cheated me off one taco. A big pet peeve of mine is when a food place gets my order wrong. Drove all the way over there(40 minutes in traffic) because I love these shrimp tacos and they can’t freaking count. It’s bad enough that they went up to over $ 2 a taco and they only have three small pieces of shrimp(pieces, not three whole shrimp by the way) Come on get it together. Super pissed off.

Check out this check-in offer: 1 free Shrimp Taco to New Customers! When our colorful Taco Crew – twenty or so deep, with the honorable Taco King, Andrew K., at the helm – crawled to this hoppin’ food truck off Olympic, this check-in offer was hit hard! Already surrounded by bands of locals, Mariscos Jalisco’s truck – not to be confused with a competing truck, possibly just as popular, parked 50 yards away – would be thought to be in the weeds as we sidled up. But they held together. And that says something about Marisco’s: they’re used to being slammed. For this truck, handling lines and lines of hungry customers is just another day at the office. And they are so nice! While we all sat and enjoyed their spicy fair, a couple of the cooks hopped out to snap a few photos with us. You could tell that they appreciated our business, our taking the time to seek them out and give them a try. And give ‘em a try, we did! There’s a kick to their tacos and tostadas, so be ready! A little cool-down is definitely in order here. Great spot, Andrew! You’ve done it again!

This place is good, the Shrimp Tacos I think, in my honest opinion, are over rated but they are good. What I liked the most was the Poseidon Tostada. The Poseidon Tostada has fish & shrimp ceviche, octopus and aguachiles, it is really good. The tostada doesn’t need anything else added to it, the flavor is perfect as is. I did squeeze some lime and Tapatio on the last quarter but I preferred it without it. They have seating inside of a building that is right in front of the gourmet truck, it is very spacious. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because when I was finished eating the tostada I found a dead fly in the small leftover portion that I was about to eat with a piece of tostada. I didn’t bring it up to the workers as I don’t know if the fly was already in the mix or if it some how landed on my food and died while I was sitting there eating. Overall the place looks clean and the food tastes good. I would come back again.

tl;dr: Maybe the best crunchy shrimp taco that I’ve ever had… **** Even after a couple of days I’m still thinking of that crispy, crunchy taco shell encasing these plumb deep-fried shrimp. It’s the same craving that you get when you want a potato chip, that crunchy texture, along with the natural brine flavor of shrimp, enhanced with seasoning and stuffed in a shell that is snap shut and encapsulated by the deep frying process… Topped with avocado slices which I appreciate better than guacamole at times because you get the textural«bite» of the avocado instead of the smoosh of green mash. The salsa roja is like the icing that binds it together, I detected some cilantro of course and a hint of something remotely sweet, perhaps pimento or something along those lines. In any case, the default heat temperature is mild but there is some orange stuff available that is habanero based that will clean your sinuses in a hurry… It sounds funny but it is so satisfying sometimes to be able to pick up a taco by the end and bring it up to your mouth to take a bite instead of some other maneuver that involves revolving your head sideways or whatever and looking like you’re doing a noose-pose in yoga… Best part was that it was a «check-in» taco(not«chicken» taco) for first-time Unilocalers… Hooray!.. Nevertheless I felt a little guilty hitting up the taco truck with 20 others asking for a free taco so I paid for a Mexican Coke to wash it down with. Some of the others in our group tried other stuff like their Poseidon Tostada and the stew-like in a cup Campechana, but for me it’s the Dorados de Cameron(shrimp taco) that will always lure me back…

I don’t always agree with Jonathan Gold’s 101 top lists. But for this taco truck I will swing from the tree tops and shout from the tops of mountains. Deep fried crispy tacos with a sublime filling of shrimp, cilantro, onions and goo. It’s midway down the block, if you go to the wrong truck, you might get decent food, but you’ll definitely miss the foodgasm! There’s a seating area in the building the truck is parked in front. It’s a far cry from a dining room but if you want a seat and a table to grub at, there you go. It’s so good I might just drive 30 miles for lunch today.

Totally worth the drive! Out of all the crispy shrimp tacos I’ve tried(Jato’s, Mariscos 4 Vientos, Siete Mares) they are definitely the best. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Food is fresh and delicious. I also tried their Poseidon tostada which was bomb. I like that even though they are a truck they have a spot with tables inside a building available. There’s plently of parking on the sides and the back. Will definitely be coming back. Ceviche and aguachile are my favorite and I crave it all the time. Even at this time when I’m pregnant I don’t have to worry about it here because theirs is so well done! Bien cocido!!!

Went for lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. Be careful — there’s 3 foodtrucks on the same street and this one is the last one, if you are coming east on Olympic Blvd. Surprisingly the other two trucks had longer lines. Parking — there’s parking in the back on the weekends, but we found street parking less than a block away with no problems. Ambiance — it’s a food truck, but there’s also a small room you could eat in with tables. Most people chose to eat inside, but it gets crowded, slightly dark, and loud. There is a ledge outside you can sit and eat at, and get some fresh air. Food — due to a slight miscommunication, the two of us ended up with enough food to feed an army. No complaints — the food was delicious. Mixta — cerviche-like mixture on top of a crispy tostada. There was so much food that you can’t even see the tostada from above. The shrimp and octopus were nicely flavored but not too heavy. There was a lot of veggies but not overwhelmingly so. I struggled to eat this simply because I’m not sure how — do I pick this up(it’s bigger than my head)? Do I eat it with a fork? If so, how do I get a bite with tostada and the cerviche? Tacos Camaron — These are«tacos» made with tostada served with some avocado slices on top with some kind of liquid sauce on top of it. In other words, the faster you eat, the better it is. Theme of the day: eat your food fast before it gets soggy. These are some of the best shrimp tacos I’ve gotten though, and I’m not normally a fan of crispy tacos(reminds me of taco bell). These are pretty heavy because the shrimp has a creamy sauce with it inside the sealed shells. I’d say 2 – 3 per person is a good amount, not 4 that we got. Coctel with Octopus and Shrimp — two sizes, I’d recommend the large. Served with Tostada and Crackers, it’s essentially a tomato based cold seafood soup. Unfortunately by the time we got to this there was just way too much food, so we ate it slowly while driving. There was a lot of seafood inside, and the texture of the octopus was to die for. The flavors were really good. Overall — would go back, maybe order half the amount of food we got(which was our original intention, but apparently the«let’s share» part didn’t get communicated).

Fresh seafood, great prices, and friendly staff! You also get a free shrimp taco when you check-in! I’ve heard about this taco truck and decided to try it out today. The shrimp tacos were cooked perfectly and the sauce you pour over it complements the taco so well! I scraped every nook and cranny of that white foam cup so I wouldn’t waste that beautiful sauce! I also ordered the ceviche which was super fresh and not fishy tasting. Wasn’t the best ceviche I’ve had, but it was good! It’s all about those shrimp tacos!

Finally checked this place out after drooling over my friends’ pictures on Instagram. The shrimp tacos are so delicious — it’s such a perfect combination of crunchy, juicy, creamy and spicy! Hubby loved his campechana which had generous portions of shrimp, oysters, octopus and fish. Add a squeeze of lime and tapatio and it’s perfect. The dining area with tables and chairs was a great bonus too There’s another seafood truck on the same block with the exact same menu. If I weren’t looking out for the name«Mariscos Jalisco», I would have ended up going to that place instead… so be careful and make sure you’re going to the right place :)

Check in and receive a free shrimp taco! The shrimp tacos are to DIE for!!! The taco was amazing, had a perfect crunch and the flavors were fused amazingly together. This is definitely the item to get when you come here! I also ordered the Poseidon, which has a variety of seafood and topped with a very spicy sauce. Numbing spicy to be exact, but who doesn’t love spicy right?! **There is also indoor sitting as well.

Stopped by today for the first time. As I seen on Unilocal before and caught my attention by so many positive reviews. Well Unilocal didn’t let me down. The service was fast and friendly and I received a FREE shrimp taco with my check in. Had a bite and it was so delicious I had to order two more. I also ordered a Campechana which is similar to a shrimp cocktail but with a variety of different sea foods. It was very good I enjoyed myself a small portion of it. My husband ordered a red sauce aguachile which is really not that common because Aguachiles are pretty much always in green sauce. So he gave it a shot and I must admit I love spicy food but this actually put my mouth on fire. It should be spicy so thumbs up for making that taste stand out. I also ordered a tostada mixta which was good in flavor, dump some ketchup and tapatio and it will not disappoint. What I enjoyed the most is that they have an inside area for dine in customers with heaters there and that’s great accommodation if you ask me. So far my expectations were met and I would definitely recommend to all my seafood loving friends and will surely come back soon when I’m craving sea food.

I love the shrimp tacos!!! This place is always packed and I have to say it’s got to be their sauce! But its also the hard shell taco has a great crunch, not too hard and never stale. The shrimps taste fresh, the quality is just there! and they add a slice of avocado! The ‘cocktail’ with shrimp and octopus was really fresh. The pieces they include are huge! They give you a small pack of saltine crackers. I loved their habenero sauce so much that my bf bought 6 bottles: D This will seriously hit the spot if you’re craving something spicy!

*PLACEISCASHONLY* I tried this place for the first time about a year ago when I was working at True Religion in Vernon. Someone said that they were going to get DEEPFRIED shrimp tacos and I was SOLD. Of course they were great. The shrimp are so soft and chewy and full of flavor. They come topped with avocado and this spicy sauce. They also have other sauces you can add. I also tried their POISEDON which is basically a tostada de ceviche mixto, which includes fish and octopus and its topped with agua chiles. The agua chiles are a little different from regular seafood places. These are covered in a dark maroon sauce. And they are very spicy but it’s very delicious. If you go to actually eat there, they have indoor seating. They are pretty busy all day but the service is fast and the owner is very friendly.

Their famous Taco Dorados de Camaron(shrimp taco), $ 2.00, is definitely the real deal: crispy, crunchy, meaty, juicy, savory and absolutely delicious! Prepared dorados(spicy Baja style) variety, the crunchy deep-fried tortilla shell is stuffed with plump and juicy, well-seasoned shrimp and a special blend of spices. It is then topped with a generous slice of fresh avocado and a savory salsa. The preparation seems so simple but it results in a complex but beautiful marriage of flavors and textures. This mariscos(Spanish for seafood or shellfish) truck does not serve pescado or fish tacos. Clearly, however, the bustling crowds that gather are here for the insatiably delicious taco dorados de camaron and many are willing to travel great distances just to sink their teeth into one. I can personally attest to the great number of mariscos trucks in the East L. A and Boyle Heights area, but few are as memorable and will have you craving its tacos like this mouthwatering taco dorados de camaron. And there seems to be many highly regarded food critics in agreement with me. Mariscos Jalisco was named the L.A. Taco’s Taco Madness 2012 co-winner, listed among the 99 Essential Restaurants in LA in 2013, ranked among LA Weekly’s 10 Best Tacos in LA many years running and Los Angeles Times Food Critic Jonathan Gold is reportedly a regular. They also serve up ceviche, seafood cocktails and fresh oysters. The truck is parked on a street curb at 3040 E. Olympic Blvd(the nearest cross street is S. Dacotah St.). Open everyday 9am-6pm. CASHONLY The shrimp taco is unforgettably delicious and highly addictive! You will come away listing it favorably among the best tacos you have tried in LA! Guaranteed!

The first time I tried Mariscos Jalisco I wasn’t too impressed. They were at taco truck event in Grand Park and the shrimp tacos I waited 45 minutes for were soggy with no crunch what so ever. Coming to their location on Olympic I had a completely different experience. The shrimp tacos were hot and everything was crispy. You also get one free taco with a Unilocal check in. I also ordered a Poseidon and thought my insides were going to burn up. There is lots of seafood with this tostada but it is SPICY. I can handle spicy much better than my friends but this is on a whole other level. I would order it again if I had a jug of milk.

The fried shrimp tacos are as good as everyone says. They’re crunchy on the outside and the toppings of salsa and avocado complement it very well. It gets filling after 3 of them and for $ 2 each, that’s a pretty awesome deal. Despite their popularity, they haven’t jacked up the prices like other places do(for example, the ever so disappointing Guisados or El Farolito in SF). The poseidon is a good spicy option if you want a variety of the seafood they offer. The ceviché tostada is solid, and I’m not the kind of person that would ever rave about ceviché(simple and healthy but never knocks my socks off). The peinados aren’t bad at all, especially for the price. They’re fresh, but I wouldn’t come here specifically for the oysters. The times I’ve gone(11 am) have never been busy at all so I haven’t had to wait much. The prices are great and the food is tasty. There’s seating inside the building contrary to what some of the other reviews have said. The owner seems like a really nice guy and I think I might have walked by him at LA Fitness the other day lol. I’m definitely coming back, especially if I’m on a budget.

I’ve been hearing about this food truck for quite some time now and finally, this past Sunday, I was able to try it for the first time. I ordered the ceviche de camaron and a shrimp taco( Unilocal check in gets you a free shrimp taco FYI). Total came out to $ 5.50. The ceviche was just ok. Nothing wrong with it, but I guess my expectations were higher due to the hype. It could’ve used some more citrus(no limes included) and the ceviche could’ve been colder.(it may however had something to do with the 90*+ weather that day) The famous Shrimp taco was definitely unique. It’s a fried taco with some sort of salsa on top. This was pretty good but I would have preferred the salsa on the side as the taco started getting soggy towards the end. All in all, the food was pretty good. Perhaps my expectations were set too high. I doubt I’d make the trek out to this area even though it’s only 10 – 15 minutes away from me.

Before going to Mariscos Jalisco I checked out the reviews. Let me tell you it lived up to the hype. There are three other food trucks on the same street so don’t get confused. A long line awaited and there were lots of people eating outdoor. I ordered a tostada de camaron and a tostada de ceviche. Shrimp and fish tostada. Let me tell you that it hit the spot on that hot and sunny day. Very fresh and tasteful. I have tried lots of other places and the shrimp is not fully cooked most of the time. The proper way to cook the shrimp and fish are in lime overnight. They put a large portion of avocado on top. I would recommend using the salsa Sinaloa with a red chili in soufflé cups. I noticed that they had a dine in area where you can sit down and use the restroom. I will definitely go back when Im in the area. –When you check through Unilocal you receive a shrimp taco. $ Bring cash only.

After a kick ass workout in the heat, I was craving something refreshing and comfortably filling. Of course fish tacos came to mind. My friend recommend we go to Mariscos for some shrimp ceviche. That sounded perfect so we jumped in as soon as he said he would drive haha. It’s a food truck so there isn’t much space to sit besides the long wall along the side. I think there is also a restaurant that is the same food where you can sit in as well? Menu is simple; They have different selections of ceviche’s to choose from, fried fish taco, and a few beverages. CASHONLY! _Tostada Ceviche de Camaron(Shrimp ceviche)($ 3.50) Good portion. The tostada itself was real crunchy, I dislike it when the chips get soggy from the juices of seafood but luckily this was still crisp throughout. Lots of chopped fresh shrimps evenly spread out. The chopped tomatoes were great and of course the nice big slices of avocado on top really took it home run. I love breaking the tortilla chip and just scooping up the scraps on my plate. Must try! _Tacos de Camaron(Shrimp taco)($ 2.00) This was a shrimp taco I have never tried or seen before. I’ve had fresh shrimp taco in a corn tortilla or the classic fried shrimp taco with all the works on top. However this was made with shredded fresh fish inside wrapped in the tortilla and deep fried. Topped with some tomato salsa, avocado slices and cut up fresh shrimp. One was pretty filling, but my one one regret was not getting 2! A bit on the heavier side but after that work out I felt I deserved it. This is a must get! I would come here again and try their other tostada and get 2 of the tacos de camaron next time :)

The Tacos Dorados de Camarones(Fried Shrimp Tacos) ARETHEBOMB. Honestly, a week passed since I last had it and this is all I can think about, all day long, every day, for a week. It’s the perfect combination of textures(crispy, soft, crunchy, gooey) and flavor(salty, tangy, umami). I also tried the Mixta ceviche(A HUGE helping of octopus and shrimp ceviche on a tostada. I thought this would be half the size it was!) and a taste of the aguachile which is made with red sauce instead of green. If you’re Korean or know Korean food, it may remind you a little of cho go chu jang except ten times more fierce. I was ashamed as a Korean that it was a bit too spicy for me. But it was hella good and I ate it, crying, but still ate it with the aid of a tostada. I’m gonna have to make this place a regular stop. Seriously. I don’t know how I had it bookmarked forever and never made it down there. It’s literally right across the bridge from the arts district dtla, or a few exits south on the 5 from NELA. Oh, and they have a dining room in front of where the taco truck parks so if you’re not feeling the whole eating while standing or sitting by the curb, this place has the best of both worlds. You can order your taco and take it with you to one of the many tables and chairs inside the space that would be perfect for a restaurant. They’ve been here for 13 years so they run a tight ship. Their operation puts some brick and mortars to shame. The food is fresh, affordable, and ample. What more do you want?

I’ve seen all the rave reviews for this place which is what brought me here but this is another instance of everyone jumping on the bandwagon and thinking it is great cause everyone else says so. Now dont get me wrong, it is decent. But was it worth my going out of my way to come here to try it? no. Free Shrimp Taco with Unilocal checkin was certainly a plus. I tried the poseidon and cerviche de pescado. Both of which were fine, but I’ve had way better mariscos at Mariscos Mocoritos in Orange. Comparing this place to Mocoritos is why they have 3 stars. Doesnt compare.

Who would’ve thought you could get delicious fresh seafood from a taco truck? We came here as part of an informal taco crawl, so we ordered pretty light: we had the shrimp tacos and the ceviche tostada. The shrimp tacos are as amazing as everyone says, but I actually liked the ceviche tostada way more. It’s especially refreshing on a hot day, so I’d definitely recommend you get this in addition to the shrimp tacos. Tips: You can actually eat inside a building right next to the food truck. There’s another food truck next door called Mariscos 4 Vientos which also has crazy lines, so that might be worth checking out, too.

Made the drive from OC with traffic and rude people WORTHIT. *DONOTBEFOOLED by the other trucks! There are other food trucks who look really similar to Mariscos Jalisco. *One free Shrimp taco with check-in for first timers! *Not sure if it’s open at night, but the truck is in front of a building that has some tables for indoor seating along with napkins and of course dat tapatiooo *These are not tacos you can get to-go! They are slathered with salsa and should be eaten on the spot or ASAP. —- I got Tacos de Camaron, Ceviche de Camaron and split some oysters with my friend. There’s a bag of tostadas on the counter when you pick up your food– I would def recommend taking a couple since the tacos get soggy due to the salsa on top! The tacos were great and they’re generous with the shrimp ceviche which was fresh and not«fish» smelling at all. I was most surprised by the oysters which were SOFRESH! Not to mention they add shrimp and octopus on top along with pico de gallo and some lime– it was some of the best i’ve had! This is definitely not your post-outing-pre-throwup-drunk tacos. The quality is great and all the ingredients are so fresh with a decent price! Shrimp tacos with avocado for $ 2? yes please!

Very happy. The two best words to describe my experience at Mariscos Jalisco today. We ordered 4 shrimp tacos, 3 shrimp ceviche tostadas and 1 coke +extra limes. We got our order quite fast and then headed inside their seating area to feast. Plenty of tables providing tapatio and napkins, it was all we needed. The shrimp tacos were warm and delicious! Gobble those up first and then go for the ceviche because the ceviche are cool and SO refreshing! It totally satisfied my ceviche craving… or did it just make my craving stronger? You know the food is delicious when you’re already planning your second visit during your first. Of course, don’t forget to use the new customer free shrimp taco deal on Unilocal

OHBOYSHRIMPTACOS!!! This place is known for their delicious shrimp taco. The sauce is the thing that makes it so good. They put on this awesome sauce with avocados on it. So. Freaking. Good! We also got the Poseiden! That thing is REALLY spicy. REALLYSPICY. Bring milk if you plan on ordering it. But it is so good that you try to block out the spicyness to keep eating! Cool food truck in an unsuspecting location. The prices are great which makes you think about all those other food trucks you’ve been to… why are they so expensive given the business overhead is so low. I sat on the wall parallel to the truck. Didn’t realise there were sitdown tables inside the building until after I fisnished eating. The shrimp/camaron tacos were delicious but prefer tacos to be less liquidy. If you put the house made hot sauce on you’re going to have a liquidy plate. I would like to go back and try some other items.

If you’re a new customer and you check-in on Unilocal, you get a free shrimp taco! This is quite the perk because the shrimp tacos are amazing! They are deep fried so you have the crunchy tortilla but inside, it is filled with shrimp and some other yummy goodness! I was taken back by how delicious it was. The shrimp taco alone earns five stars. If someone has figured out what is inside these shrimp tacos, please let me know! I also got the shrimp ceviche and it really hit the spot. However, I believe they finely dice the shrimps because at first, I had a hard time locating them in my ceviche. The red sauce that accompanied it was spicy but good. It left my mouth burning and tingling for a little while. If you get your order to-go, they will pack everything separately in neat containers and bags so you don’t end up with a mushy shrimp taco or ceviche. Instead, you can assemble it at home. I was a little skeptical about this place given its looks. It looks like a run down everyday food truck parked outside some warehouses in East LA. Regardless, Mariscos Jalisco surprisingly delivered and I really enjoyed my food for such a cheap price!
