The shrimp tacos are SOOOOOOOODELICIOUS. We had the Poseidon as well. It sure was spicy, but really tasty as well. I would like to eat here everyday. How do they not have their own restaurant yet?

I discovered Mariscos Jalisco at the LA Weekly Essential Rastaurants festival and knew that I had to have more. Their location in the fashion district was easy to find and there was ample street parking given that it was a weekday. Service was great — food came out quickly, and with 4 tacos to eat there and 1 to-go, the cashier offered to wait on my to-go order til I was ready to leave. I came for the shrimp tacos, which were hot, crispy on the outside, juicy & meaty on the inside, and all around full of flavor! Definitely having tacos again, but I want to try the aguachile next time, too!

Simply the best! Better than all the rest! Tostadas, ceviche, tacos! Delicious! A food truck in the fashion district of Downtown LA. The food is perfectly prepared! The seafood is fresh. Prices range from $ 2 for tacos to $ 5+ for tostadas. Head down to DTLA and grab some great Mexican food!

Outstanding. Both locations(pref on Boyle Heights truck w/habanero sauce for purchase). Everything is incredibly reasonable price wise. The shrimp tacos are the best I’ve ever had. Hands down.

No joke, I first had their taco on a Friday and the following week I had it Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It is so addictively delicious, I literally couldn’t stop eating it. From the ceviche salsa to the fresh avocado to the crack-like mixture of shrimp to the deep fried tortilla shell, it’s just the perfect LA street food. If it weren’t for my psychosis regarding my health, I’d eat this every day.

Probably the best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. Topped with their sauce and avocado. I mean. I created an account so I could grab that free taco offer.

Absolutely incredible. Every single time I’ve been, everything is always fresh and always delicious. Same order each time: a shrimp ceviche tostada and two shrimp tacos. Both locations are fantastic, although the wait at the 10 St. location is usually longer. Just go already.

Very decent shrimp tacos and shrimp ceviche For a food truck their seafood is fresh and safer to eat than most restaurants. They received an A+ on their food inspection. Byob

MariscosJalisco fucked me up the ass so violently and pumped me up so full I was literally in tears as I staggered away in a daze. While I am no stranger to spicy foods, the aguachile here took me by surprise, and made me its quivering bitch. For those who don’t know, I am on a quest to visit all 101 of Mr. Jonathan Gold’s top 101 restaurants(really 100 now as allumette has closed), which can be quite a costly undertaking for someone with a limited budget. Fortunately there are many relatively cheap options such as the various taco trucks, Marisco Jalisco is one of them. On a food odyssey with my friend in which we visited 3 of the 101 in a day, we ate at the taco truck known as Marisco Jalisco as our first stop and boy was that a doozy. I took the bus to downtown Los Angeles and hiked down to the«fashion district», it was a fairly long trek and it was a very hot day, I was half dead from heat exhaustion by the time I arrived at the underwhelming looking truck with the cheap plastic chairs placed haphazardly in front, it reminded me of the«ook chuen» style street cuisine in Hong Kong. NOTGOOD. My friend Isobel was a little lost because 10th street is weird around Towne and zig zags around the place, but she eventually found the place. MariscosJalisco means seafood from the«Jalisco» region, and after having the seafood at coni’s seafood, I knew I was in for a shrimp fest. Checking into Unilocal revealed the sweet deal of a free shrimp taco for first time customers, which I happily devoured with the help of some kind of mandarin orange soft drink from Mexico, then I shared a fish ceviche and shrimp ceviche with Isobel. The meal ended with the aguachile, Isobel took one bite and decided she couldn’t take another one, so I took it to myself to finish it so the food wouldn’t be wasted. BIG mistake… This motherfucker is some of the spiciest food I have ever tasted, and I was eating this with a full stomach! I couldn’t just swallow quickly when the heat got too much because I was so full, I had to keep the fucker in my mouth and chew that up before I can swallow. What makes this worse is this a «wet» type of heat and it seeps through every pore in the mouth! Not like the dry type of heat found in hot peppers where you can«localize» the damage. What followed can only be described as an extended torture session as I cried like a pussy while trying my darnedest to eat every last morsel, my mate Isobel constantly cracked her whip above my head and cruelly demanded that I finish the damn food like the merciless dominatrix that she is, because she needs to get back to her afternoon sessions with her clients. The chef took pity on me and taught me an old chef’s trick, sticking the tongue out like a beaten dog and applying dashes of salt on the tongue can help overcome the extreme heat from spice. Even with this trick and the help of 2 bottles of water, I was unable to finish this and have to give up with 2 bites left. I regretfully threw the last bits of the aguachile away and I knew I was in for a rough ride later that afternoon as the spice made its way through my digestive tract and I felt the angry growl from my stomach. Sure enough, halfway through the shit movie«Into the storm», I had to visit the restroom to evacuate the spice and unleash my own«into the storm». My asshole has never burned so much before in my life, and as I stared at my shrunken dick I swore to the Flying Spaghetti Monster through my bleary eyes that I would return one day and finish a whole order of aguachile by myself and reclaim my manhood. 清倉令郎聽湯

My friend brought me here because it was one of his favorite lunch spots. The shrimp tacos, he said were good. We found the truck and we must have come before the rush, they seemed a little unprepared. The people behind the counter didn’t seem as friendly as some of the other reviews made them out to be. They seemed a little annoyed at us. They took our order, closed the window and then out came 4 shrimp tacos. They were pretty good, I only wish that I had checked in before so I could have gotten a free one. I’ll definitely come back one more time.

Awesome. These shrimp tacos and ceviche tostadas totally rock. This is the taco truck to beat all other taco trucks. Better than Kogi, better than Guerrilla Taco, and better than that taco truck by your office… guaranteed! And it’s the real deal! There were no foodies, hipsters, wannabe-hipsters etc. at this truck today(unless you count me and my friend.) Real food for real people… and it’s fantastic. We each had one shrimp taco(my friend got his for free with a first time Unilocal check-in at the truck!). Fantastic! Extremely fresh shrimp in a super crispy taco. Then, we each had a tostada(mine was shrimp ceviche, his was fish ceviche.) Again, fantastic. And THEN… we attempted to share the Aguachile tostada. This is one of the spiciest dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I took one bite and nearly fainted. One more bite just to be sure and I was done. My friend made much more progress than me but had to resort to a secret chef tip(stick out your tongue and put salt on it. Worked for him, in addition to two bottles of water!) A FIVE-ALARM fire. But delicious. Super service(thank you for giving us pieces of broken tortilla so that we wouldn’t waste a molecule of your most excellent ceviche!) Ambiance? Taco truck. Sit on a stool, eat on paper plates, have a soda. And enjoy.

Shrimp taco and ceviche were awesome, was pleasantly surprised. Don’t fine too many fried shrimp tacos with that much flavor. Very light and fresh meal for a quick lunch bite. Took us a second to find the truck but once we found it we were in heaven. Definitely going back! Don’t forget to put change in your meter though!

Go here, bro. Order the Poseidon and a few tacos. Extremely fresh seafood in heaping portions? From a ROACHCOACH? *Mind-effing-blown.* Check my photos and tell me you don’t want some right now. I dare you.

The husband and wife duo who run this food truck are super nice and professional but it’s their fresh tacos and ceviche that set this place apart! Shrimp Tacos are deep fried hard tacos with battered shrimp in them! the sauce they put on top is a blend of pico de gallo and even MORE shrimp goodness. They give you a free shrimp taco on your first visit with a Unilocal check in so if you’re ever in the area and wanna try their taco before making a committing definitely check in to claim that offer, =) My favorite item was actually their shrimp ceviche with tostada! I was super hesitant since it was a food truck but the ceviche was fresh and super delicious. No tummy ache here only a happy tummy that did cartwheels for this ceviche. Price is relatively cheap for seafood tacos/ceviche. I spent a little under $ 15 on 4 tacos(1 free with check in) and 2 orders of shrimp ceviche! I think their hot sauce could be better but overall the food is very fresh and yummy! Also if you work in the DTLA they deliver with a minimum of $ 15 I believe.

I tried Mariscos Jalisco at the LA Block party and what a wonderful choice! They had a special, 2 shrimp tacos for $ 3. They’re not your ordinary street tacos. These were fried and topped with salsa and avocado. These were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The salsa was the highlight, I’ve never tasted anything like it. It’s spicy but not too spicy. The tacos came out very fast too considering the long line. This was the quickest line at the event and the food was amazing. I can’t wait to try their other menu items at their original location.

Although the food was JUST as AMAZING as the first location, I’m giving this a rating of 3 stars because the location was HORRIBLE. Yes, it’s actually closer in terms of where I was staying in LA(Little Tokyo), but it didn’t have the charm as the first location. It’s in a very industrialized area with trucks pulling in and out, garbage trucks passing by, and there wasn’t any real area to sit and enjoy besides plastic stools right in front of the truck which is right in front of the street(passing traffic doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience) I think Mariscos Jalisco should relocate this second truck. Def go to the first location(also if you check in to the first location, you get a free taco)!
