Food, beer, art, music, and Mariachis! Close to 2 good bars and lots of Culture. Look for Hugo, he’s an artist that can draw you in a flash and actually makes you look good LOL.

Perfect place to go if you’re looking to hire Mariachi!
The Metro Gold Line has a station at Mariachi Plaza, which makes travel easy. As you enter the plaza, you’ll find tons of musicians standing around. Several will approach you and give you business cards for their services. In 10 minutes I had at least 5 different business cards. I probably could’ve gotten more if I took the time to really talk to each group that was there.
If you’re looking to hire Mariachi, this is definitely a great place to start.

When planning a traditional cinco de mayo party, quinceanera, wedding, funeral, etc — one must have Mariachi. This is the place to find authentic Mariachi musicians, get their cards, see them audition, book them, or just stop in to see beautiful architecture and enjoy a part of the East Side of LA. I went here before my date on Sunday to take my photo for the day (trying to take one artistic photo a day for 365 days this year… I’m on day 18 now). We met a local here who was awesome at engaging us in conversation of the historic art and architecture in the area. It was a wonderful start to a great date.
