The service at Margarita’s was prompt, and the waitress was very friendly. However, the food was only adequate. The sauce was a bit on the salty side and had an unusual taste that I’m unable to describe. Overall, my experience wasn’t negative, but I can’t say that I would come again.

Been eating here since 1978. Marguerita’s does a brisk business in phone in/take out. Ever since the advent of the mass market 50″ TV and Netflix/Hulu, etc., the customer parade is non stop. If you watch, people come through there constantly. The food is quite good. And yes, Mexican food is a tad salty. You can’t eat it everyday(unfortunately). Nothing wrong with this place. When I see a SUPER negative review for a place that doesn’t deserve it I always wonder if it is from a competitor.

This place is so charming is like going to grandmas for food :). Solid Mexican food recipes and also very generous portions, the salsa is so good and when doing take out they make sure to send you home with a portion of home made chips and salsa, definitely awesome for an authentic Mexican feel.

Been going here for years, excellent mom and pop type place. Fresh food, friendly staff, so homey and lovely. I love the tacos and enchiladas. They even have Arizonas, boommbbb.

I love coming to margaritas whenever I’m in the neighborhood. I know I’m going to get fresh quality food all the time. My favorite thing to order is the carne asada nachos. The meat is a good quality and its always fresh.

Is there a negative 100 star? WORSTMEXICANFOOD I HAVEEVEREATEN!!! Couldn’t even finish my food. The meat in my beef burrito was drowned in the most disgusting, salty sauce that i have ever had to try to disguise the fact that the meat was getting old. it was stringy & over cooked & i’d rather eat my shoes than eat here again. When we walked in to pick up our phone order, it was deserted & i completely understand why now. It was old & run down & a really bad look. Never again. EVER

Been coming here for about 5 years now and this place is just going downhill. While its portions are still good for the price the quality of food is subpar. On Sunday’s like today they open at 2pm, so I called my order in was told that it would be ready in 15 minutes, great… Well I get there pay for my food and go back to my car. I ordered chicken nachos, chicken burrito and a chicken taco plate. I opened the nachos to grab a chip I noticed the chicken was cold. I thought maybe it was cause of the sour cream no big deal. I drive home which is 5 minutes away began to give everyone their food oops no tacos. I drive back and the gentleman was very nice even threw in a extra taco. I get back to the house and everyone’s chicken is cold including the tacos I just picked up. Also they use to serve meatball soup or salad with the dinners thats no longer the case however the its still listed on the menu and the prices does not reflect the changes.

I had the chicken enchalada plate. The enchiladas were good. The portions are large and the price is fairly inexpensive. The place itself is very unique. It appears to have been converted from a house to restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere.

Been here a few time with family. I think the food is ok and wifey thinks the same. Nothing SUPER special. Just love how authentic the food is(real mexican food in the Crenshaw area). Dining in makes you feel like you’re having dinner in someones house(which is different), not a resturant style vibe inside. We mostly get our food to go. FYI, the salsa is alittle spicey which sucks cause my wife and kids do love chips & salsa but can’t really eat it there due to being alittle too spicey to enjoy. Will we eat here again? If we’re in the area and craving Mexican, SURE!

I have had 3 generations of family coming to this place. I have always loved this place as it has the best Mexican food I have ever had. It was family run and it is under new management now, but the food is still great. The chips and sauce are the best if you love HOT. I could literally go there and just eat the chips and salsa. But I always get the cheese enchiladas, and my dad always gets the tacos: both are amazing. I was a little sad when they changed the décor from the old school velvet wallpaper to the updated crème paint, but the staff still remains very nice and accommodating. Please continue to support this place even in the rough economy because they are getting hit just as everyone else. They no longer offer soup or salad with their combination meals, after years and years of including them in the already great pricing for the food. I love this place, and I will continue to support!

I was really hoping to love this place but it was definitely a disappointment. My food was soooooo salty it was inedible. I just ate the chips and refried beans.

I remember going to Margarita’s when I was a little girl waaay back in the day. I decided to take MY kids there for dinner to see if it was any good. I was not disappointed. We went on a weeknight, it was almost deserted. The menu is small, the waitress was prompt, and friendly. Those homemade chips are still great! The food was hot and inexpensive. After 40 some years of business they are still doing it right. It felt good to spend my money just minutes from home and have a great time. We will definitely be back.

This is so authentic, that it’s a little bit too much for me. My mom loves this place and has been eating here for years, as most of they’re customers are regulars. The inside looks like a almost a church to me for some reason? Its a house pretty much house. The food is what it is pretty traditional throwback mexican food no frills. the enchiladas and burritos are huge and you can’t finish it all unless your a glutton. The staff is a family who are all cool to like dat, and like i said this is a regulars spot so they pretty much no everyone in the joint.

My family has been frequenting this restaurant for over 20 years. They never fail to deliver excellent Mexican food. The family favorite is the #6 — two cheese enchiladas with beens and rice. Fantastic! The atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty dark — it’s a converted Japanese restaurant — in fact, there is very little atmosphere to speak of. The juke box plays Banda and Mariachi music loudly at very sporadic intervals — but this is entirely beside the point. Go there for the #6 with chips and some of the best salsa. The salsa is firey hot, but full of flavor. For the kids, the chicken or beef tacos are always reliable. But, eat them hot because they have a high grease content. One mystery of the place is the marvelous courtyard they have in the front. In over twenty years, I have never seen them set tables out there. Admittedly, it isn’t the best neighborhood, but there are plenty that are worse. There is a small bar in front, in the waiting area. Again, it’s been ten years since I’ve seen anyone tending it or sitting there. Go figure. One other thing — bring cash. They don’t take plastic and they only take checks if you can walk on water(hint-there is no water around to prove it on!).
