Passing by on my way home from an interview I saw the blue awning«Newstand.» I’d been good about bypassing all the other little shops along Westwood, but there’s something about these places that always urged me to stop. the sign next to it said«Free parking first 30 minutes» Alright maybe they have some postcards. I suppose I can stop at just this one place. There was quite a bit of magazines with some decent B titles that you wouldn’t normally see many other places. Even some foreign mags. Writing, food, photography, music, and yes even the pron. Strangely enough, there was little to no newspapers. For a place cakked a «News Stand» you would kind of assume that there would be… at least SOME papers. There were a few rows of books with covers missing with stickum price tags. Some of the conversions for the foreign mags were wrong. There were a few cheesy greeting cards, but no postcards. Not even a lotto machine. I found one magazine I was considering and brought it to the counter. I asked if they took plastic and they said«$ 10 minimum.» Whatever. With Barnes & Noble being down the street, I’m not sure how this even stays open.
