SUPERFAIL. I called on Saturday and spoke to a man there about hiring them for an early party on the following Saturday. Although the pricing was a little weird(same price for 30 people as the 50 person quote), I said I would talk to my husband and get back to them asap. He warned me that they book fast and I assured him I would call him the next day and confirmed his«direct» phone number. The next morning I called to confirm them and left a message. I called 2x a day for the next 3 days — no one answered, no one returned my messages. I also used their 800 number and emailed just in case. NORESPONSE. EVER. If you are already booked or don’t want to do a small party, no problem. Just get on the phone or email and LETMEKNOW. Not such great business from a member of the BBB. FAIL.

Is there a more perfect food than a good taco? Let me save you the trouble of thinking about it: no, there is not. So what better food to serve for a party than tacos? Tacos + Beer = Party WIN. When I threw a little shin-dig over the weekend, I knew I couldn’t trust my own taco-making skills(or lack thereof). I needed to call the pros. I’ve hired«taco guys» before for other events but their business practices were a bit sketchy. I decided to try a business that I knew to be accredited and that follows strict health codes. Nothing says party-foul like sick guests that aren’t throwing up because of too much beer. I found Manny’s Mex during a Google search and checked out their website and reviews. I was shocked this place wasn’t on Unilocal yet, but I knew that was going to change as soon as the last taco was devoured at my event. After checking out their website and reviews, I sent an e-mail and got an immediate response from Manuel, the owner. We were able to coordinate everything over e-mail, even when there were a few changes. He was very prompt about returning every message and sending a contract to me via email. On the day of the event, Manny and his partner showed up a few minutes early, set up everything without problem(including two tables, linens, and 25 chairs for an additional $ 55), and started serving the guests on time. For two hours, they served some for the best tacos I’ve ever had. I’m still eating them actually since they gave us the leftovers. The carne asada and pollo asada tacos were unbelievably good. They had a perfect blend of spices and a hint of citrus. The fresh, handmade corn tortillas were some of the best tortillas I’ve had outside of Mexico. No joke. The toppings included fresh guacamole, salsa, onion, cilantro, and purple cabbage. They also included tortilla chips, which was a nice extra. Everything was delicious. Every single one of my guests went back for seconds(or more… I know who you are). Manuel and his partner were complete professionals and very friendly. I was very impressed with not only their great food but their level of service as well. They were a bit more expensive than other«taco guys» but I also take into consideration that you’re paying a little extra for higher quality food and service. They will also include all the paper napkins, plates, and utensils, which other taco guys don’t usually provide. There is no doubt that I’ll be calling them back for another event very soon. To be honest, I have no reason to throw another party anytime soon, but those tacos might BE the reason.
