This truck is at the Hall of Administration right now!!! If you would like a cold bland Italian, over priced sandwich this is the truck for you! This food is not good.

I had the pesto chicken quesadilla. It was okay. I wanted a salad to go with it, but didn’t want to pay $ 12 for a salad, plus the $ 9 for the quesadilla. They offered a half salad for $ 6. I got my salad, but they got $ 15 of my money. The salad was a handful of lettuce, some tasteless tomatoes(as most are nowadays) some white crumbly cheese. It tasted fine, but didn’t seem worth $ 6. The quesadilla had cheese, chicken and pesto. Lot’s of pesto. It would have been nice to have some avocado on it or some salsa. An hour later, all I taste in my mouth is pesto.

Mangia was delicious! They parked at our complex in Playa and we had the pastrami melt, fries, and chicken salad. The Melt was so bomb! Everything else was delicious too, and the service was fast and friendly.

It’s sitting outside the la convention center… closed. What good is a food truck in a busy area if it’s closed? My recommendation… be open and sell food. Just in case common sense has slipped your mind. After waiting for the truck to finally be open, as I’m assuming they were aiming to match the ending of the basketball game, I finally get in line with a couple other people and eventually place my order. I have no idea how, but the wait was just stupid long, both just to order and to get the food. There weren’t that many people, so somebody is dropping the ball in the organization department. Once I got my food, it really wasn’t worth any of the wait. I got the spicy chicken parm, and it was just truly disappointing. I will easily say that the Italian Chicken sandwich at Burger King is probably better at being authentic italian than this was.

This company needs to get it together. So slow More than 5 people asked for refunds! Food is good just needs to get more organized. Update: Both my friend and I who got the pastrami sandwich got bad diarrhea and stomach pains. My other friend who got the grilled cheese was fine.

Get the meatball fries! We were happy to see food trucks parked at the convention center, thinking we’d get something tastier than your standard convention food. And we did! I ordered the Chicken parmesan sandwiched, which was supposedly hot and spicy. My friend got the chicken pesto sandwiched so that we could exchange halves. She also got the meatball fries for all of us to share. Others got the pesto quesadilla, which the cashier said was her favorite on the menu. The chicken parmesan sandwiched, while quite tasty, was in no way spicy. The chicken pesto wasn’t bad, but it was a little dry. Though I didn’t get a bite, my friends who got the pesto quesadilla enjoyed it, despite the messiness and the wish that it had been cut into 2 pieces instead of 3. But the winner was the dish of meatball fries. Just your average wide cut fries topped with marinara, meatballs, pepperoni, banana peppers, mozzarella and avocado. Delicious! The bottom layer sticks to the serving paper, so you won’t want to eat that. An order of these is a meal in and of itself.

Utter disappointment. If I was a proud father, the meal I received from Mangia is the F I see on my «Straight A» child’s report card. Here’s how I came upon this. While my friend and I were roaming the streets of DTLA amid a gruelingly hot summer day, we were fairly famished when we happened upon a series of food trucks. While there were indeed other options, Mangia had the longest line, so our thought was that this must mean the masses have spoken and deemed this to be the pinnacle of Italian food trucks. So we knew we’d have to wait a while in line, and were perfectly ok with that. We also knew the prices, but the pictures eluded to a fuller meal with sides and drinks. So after a 25 min wait in line, we order our food(mine being a meatball sub and my friend’s was an Italian sausage sandwich). Not only were we incorrect about the amount of time we’d wait, we were also deceived in the portion factor. After ordering, we found out the sides and drinks were exorbitantly more. Following another 30 minutes waiting for the food to be prepared, we finally had our numbers called. BUTTHEORDERSWEREWRONG. We were given 2 cheese-less meatball subs, when we in fact ordered 1 meatball sub with cheese, and one Italian sausage, no cheese. Upon bringing this up, the cashier said she’d change it but we’d probably have to wait another 30 min for our new order to be called. Begrudgingly, we took our sandwiches and ate them as the most dire of hungers was seeping in at this time. What probably should have been a footlong sandwich based on the price I paid was only 7 inches, and the quality of the meat /sauce was sub par. If I had to describe it, that meatball sauce combination made Subway meatball subs seem gourmet. It was edible, but not satisfying at all. While a little bit of my griping in this review may come from the heat and my hunger on the day we ordered, it still does not change the fact that the service was poor in terms of wait time, and accuracy. It also does not change the fact that the food quality was sub par(pun intended). If anything, my hunger should have increased the taste value of this meal. With no redeeming factors in the price, taste, quantity, or service, I regrettably give my first 1 star.

So after receiving an invite to go back to the c truck from the owner Debbie Perez, I was going to give it a try as she clearly indicated the truck was closed by the Health Department for mechanical issues. I figured why not, mechanical issues are sometimes unforseen, but as I approached the truck, it had a C Rating. Sorry, Debbie, but I’m nit taking chances on you. Seriously? At the LA Convention Center… I then emailed management regarding their criteria to allowing food trucks there, but never got a call back…

I have been eating from this food truck for a number of years and have never been disapointed. Debbie(The owner) has a great way of helping you decide what you really want to eat. It is a food truck like no other. Someone mentioned in an earlier review that the truck was closed down for health violations. This is not true. It was closed because of a mechanical problem that was quickly fixed. She still has her«A» rating. If you are ever at an event that this food truck is at, be sure to go up and say Hi to Debbie and ask her to recommend something for you. I guarentee you will walk away smiling and full.

Lots of different sandwich and burrito style things on the menu, filled with cheese, eggs, meat and what have you. Great cue system where you first stand in line to order(which goes quickly), get a ticket with a number and when they call your number you can come pick up your food. All of this is good but the burrito they sold me gave me food poisoning — I puked only 90 minutes after I ate it. And then I puked two more times before the day was over — my stomach was apparently very adamant about getting every piece of that burrito out. Sorry, I cannot give this food truck more than one star.

I’d give 2.5 stars if I could. Had the tri tip cheesy fries at the Long Beach Grand Prix. The portion size was pretty large, but the amount of tri tip seemed skimpy, so not such a great value considering you’re paying mostly for fries. And the fries weren’t that great. Neither was the meat, for that matter. The cheese is what saved this dish for me. Overall, not bad, but not great. Definitely not a great bang for your buck.

On Site at Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and it’s so good! The proprietor, I believe was Debbie Coglietti Perez, order-taker and so pleasant in her passion for all-foods-Italian; confident in her cooking abilities; and humble for having the freshest & healthiest of foods for sale. I ordered the linguine pesto with chicken and as assured, it is the best tasting pesto, I have enjoyed to date(sorry Mom) ! not oily, just– the– right-amount or pinch of Romano /Pecorino /Parmesan cheeses and a sprinkle of pinoli(pine nuts) — I shared my like with others behind me in line — and on Unilocal. So good. The sliders(4) mini tri tips with a sweet & zesty sauce with soft warm rolls. The Irish Nachos are salt-n-vinegar potato chips with pastrami & cheddar(too many calories for I) however my extremely rapacious friends raved about ‘em. Mangia is pleasant & good-tasting. A surprise — as in good-nutrition; fresh produce; and abundant servings(the bowl of linguine was enough to share) and the garlic bread that accompanied it was, I’m afraid so, not eaten. It is fantastico that this fare-on-wheels was on site and a healthy option.

Waited over an hour for a sandwich. Unless you have a 3 hour lunch break, don’t come here. I ordered their best seller. The sandwich was completely store bought. It was a small $ 8 sandwich. Based on taste, I would rank it a 4⁄10. The only reason they deserve 1 star is because the lady who took my order was friendly. This is the first time in my life I have been compelled to write a bad review.

My wife and I had the opportunity to try the Mangia Italian Ristorante on Wheels at the first ever Corona Food Truck Festival. Let me tell you, I’m still thinking and dreaming about that day. We shared, I don’t know why I did that ;o), the Sausage Sandwich. It’s made of mouth watering Italian sausage, fresh peppers & onions, marinara sauce, and topped with Parmesan & provolone cheese. All these great ingredients were inside a warm soft French Bread, the perfect blanket. What sent this sandwich over the top was pairing it with with a nice cold beer. Now you know why I’m drooling while I write this review. I can’t wait to catch the Mangia Italian Ristorante on Wheels at the next food truck festival.

I found this truck at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire on May 20th. I had gone with my nephew and we decided to eat at Mangia. I have been to the faire many times and have pretty much tried everything that the faire has to offer so this was a welcome change. I ordered the Italian Sausage Sandwich which consists of: Spicy Italian Sausage, Four Varieties of Bell Peppers, Red Onions Sautéed in Garlic & Butter topped off with Parmigiano & Provolone Cheese with a Smidgen of Marinara Sauce. Served on a Garlic Cheese French Roll. My nephew ordered the Roast Beef Melt which consists of: Roast Beef, Munster Cheese, Grilled Red Onion, Mustard & Mayo. Served on Garlic Cheese Sourdough Texas Toast. My order was up first, with sandwich in hand I found a place to sit and dug in. It was delicious and full of flavor. There was nothing I would change about this sandwich, it was perfect just the way it was. My nephew showed up shortly with his Beef Melt, I watched him as he bit in, he smiled, looked up and said«this is really good». My nephew has mentioned Mangia several time since our visit and is looking forward to another visit this weekend at the Yum Festival!
