Their cheese steak fries are absolutely DELICIOUS! I was able to try them at a carnival by my house. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the onions in my fries or not but it ended up tasting amazing. 5 stars! Will definitely get again.

The worst food ever the meat was dried out burnt and it had no flavor the cheese was lacking Philly Cheesesteak? What a waste of money the food looked horrible the lack of respect they have for the food is unforgivable. They shoved two sandwiches into a box and that was it no napkins no personality what a disgrace for the cow that died for the woman cooking the meal was a rude ASS. I guess they need the money more than I needed the money please leave tips and spare a cow the food is disgusting and after witnessing how they have the chicken all bundled up in a corner just to have the chicken be over cooked and dried out!!! This type of cooking if I had to choose this or become a vegan and give up bread beef n cheese I would give it up! Do yourself a favor leave a tip and spare your taste buds… I had to give them a star because Unilocal requires a star which pains me to lie to you

I forgot to write a good review for Mamae’s Cooking, when they have visited the Eastvale’s winter community event last year. I am trying to make up for them by writing a good review, so that people who reads my comment will know that they are caters, and travels to any events in Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties. The food was great, I have tried the Phili Cheese Steak and Beef with Cheese fries. The food were cooked very well and I tasted a juicy beef inside my mouth. The price for two dishes were at right price and I wanted to order some more but my stomach was already full. I ended my craving with drinking a can of soda. I had a good time eating their prepared meal in a cold weather. I lost the feeling of winter breeze while I was eating the hot meal. If they stop by at your local event, and see them serving their delicious food, I will recommend to people to try to eat their food, and add more comments. They need support from us, the local people. So that they can expand their catering business in Southern California. I just happened to support them by giving them a 5 stars and good comment. Thank you for preparing a good food and coming to Eastvale, Ca. I hope to see you guys soon.

I’ve always wanted to try this place and I’ve always told myself I have to get the steak fries before I graduate from school. I bought their cheese steak fries and the price was very reasonable. The fries were A-OK and I felt a little sick afterwards, However, the family who runs the booth were so sweet! I would probably go back and try some other things on the menu!

I miss eating their sandwiches at the Pershing Square farmer’s market on Wednesdays. The Pepper Steak(steak, grilled peppers and onions, and cheese) is absolutely delicious. I hope they come back to the Pershing Square market. The folks that work there are really nice too.

Love when they come to USC’s farmers Market on Tuesdays. The Chicken Cheese Steak is so delicious. I recommend subbing peppers for mushrooms. All of the staff is super nice! Can’t wait to try the fries next time I go. Also such a good deal, only $ 5 for the sandwich. And make sure to add the spicy sauce. Delicious!

These reviews are big time wrong imo. These guys come to the farmers market near USC at Jefferson and Hoover on Tuesdays from 10am-3pm. They have great prices, are genuinely friendly, and make the best Philly Cheesteak I’ve had in L. A. Definitely check them at if you’re in the area on Tuesdays.

I hate to kick someone when they’re down, but I also didn’t really enjoy this spot. Didn’t hate it either and the prices were fair, but ended up going to Figueroa Philly the next day and their meat had so much more flavor. I did like the quality of the veggies at mamaes as well as the bread, actually the bread at both spots is good. I have no idea what a cheesesteak from Philadelphia is supposed to taste like, nor do I care, but i’m glad to hear it is supposedly better than this one.

We rolled into the LA Art-walk hungry and my buddy insisted we seek this Philly cheesestake stand out of the crowd of food trucks and stands. The food looked great cooking on the grill and the smells were up to snuff. They offer several types of meats either on a roll or over fries. I opted for the latter. The beef was thinly sliced with grilled onions and provolone cheese. They slathered the concoction over the fries and there you go… it looked amazing! WaWaWa, looked good tasted bad, the texture and flavor was overly fatty and just not up to cheesesteak goodness. Next

Ok so i was walking in pershing square last wed and came across the greatest pastrami ever! soooooo good! for 5 bucks you get a feast on a roll. their specialty is cheese steaks but i couldnt pass up that pastrami. dripping in provolone cheese with grilled onions, to die for :) the people who work there are just as great as their food! such a sweet family and you can tell they really put their heart in to what they are serving. while i was waiting for my pastrami, i got to talking with mamae,(which i learned means mom in Portuguese) and she was telling me about how their from philly and how next time i need to try the cheese steak. Well after eating that pastrami i went to the 7th and fig market on thurs(they have a market on thurs too!) and tried the cheese steak! so bomb, i feel extra trips to the gym in my near future but its totally worth it! Tomorrow chicken cheese steak! Let ya know if its as delicious as the others, either way Mamae you have a customer for life! :)

It’s not often you see cheesesteaks advertised in Los Angeles so I had to give it a try. I stumbled across this booth at the Pershing Square Farmer’s Market in downtown which is held on Wednesdays at noon. Upon ordering the booth worker asked if I wanted Provolone or American cheese on my cheesesteak at which I hesitated. Having relatives in Philadelphia they would have disowned me if I replied«American cheese». In fact I’m sure jumping over the table and punching the guy in the face would have been an acceptable response if I were in Philadelphia. You see, Provolone is the only acceptable cheese for a true cheesesteak, anything else is child’s play. Long story short, this cheesesteak was perfectly acceptable and included Provolone, onions and mushrooms all on a fresh roll. The generous steak portions made it a decent meal for $ 5 and I was later glad I did not add a side of fries as I was stuffed. A woman walking by gasped when the grill man handed it to me so I’m not alone on the size to value. I added some red peppers and chili sauce on top which were provided on the booth table. I’m glad I did because the steak was a tad dry, but in all fairness it was a hot summer day(like 95 degrees) so I’m sure this contributed to the dryness. Bottom line: I would certainly get this again and for $ 5 it rivals any budget lunch downtown, not to mention it was a decent cheesesteak showing from a random booth in downtown LA!

I’ve come back for lunch a few times over the past month and the afterglow has faded. There’s such a thing as too much cheese sometimes, especially when it’s on par with the taste of government queso. One slice is plenty enough, and doubling up on 2 slices of American makes the cheese too thick to melt or gel with the meat and bread. Just no good! The chicken cheesesteak. has potential, though needs some help. The meat comes as large cuts, rather than chopped or almost ground chicken, which is what I was expecting to get, or at least something close. The chunks don’t do much for me, kind of like just making a homemade chicken sandwich and adding cheese.

Mamae’s cheesesteaks are to die for. Just something undescribable about the way the combination of the meat, cheese and onions… SOOOOOO good!!!
