I noticed this location in my neighborhood for a while now and have always seen many kids out there skating in front of the store on a rail that the owner brings out. I came in to refurbish my skateboard not to long ago and they had a lot of variety of barring’s and wheels. I was changing the grip tape also and saw they had a Santa Cruz grip tape that I was overwhelmed with joy. My board was a mess so I appreciated the time the owner took to really make it whole again. They had a cool little dog roaming around also. I shall return soon to get me some new trucks.

What can i say Alex gave great service today. I went in there simply for a spraycan and walked out with a few more things. His attention to me having a good experience and wanting to return was great. The place is really clean and organized very welcoming environment. Prices are very reasonable and clothes have great designs. I felt the same excitement i once did when i was a kid visiting the shop on sunset years ago. Will definitely be returning.

I was passing through Cypress Park and decided to visit a new skate shop for a wheel repair. Anton was just locking up the shop but went back inside and helped me out. What a nice guy! Bonus: the shop is great, too! It’s a «real skater’s shop»(not just a place that sells skater clothes) and even has a great selection of local(NELA) tshirts. Awesome experience, all around.

If you want to buy a skateboard or any unique shirts you can’t get anywhere else, this is the shop! The owner, Alex is a really cool dude. You can go in and have a long conversation with him. Definitely a great community skate shop!

Based on customer service only, the guy working here(possible owner) was very very nice. Greeted form the moment we walked in, checked up on just minutes later, and all while he was busy attending other customers. There was majority younger kids in here while I was there and he treated them as any age customer, with the same attention and was kind to them as well. I just dropped in to take a look around while I was waiting to get a tattoo next door, which I told him — but he still continued to check up and see how things were going or if I needed helped. Even thanked me as I left. Good customer service.

My skate deck art workshop is exposing me to a ton of gems in the NELA area. Found maintain and was impressed by the customer service. Love the Urban Art Supplies but definitely needs more skate stuff. I am still recovering from the beating I recieved from my brother when I created an «Art Piece» on our family AC unit. So since then, it’s only been skating. Looking forward to going back and picking up new trucks for my new deck

Went to this shop with my buddy the other day because it was close and it was a great experience. The owner was a super cool dude, he gave us a good deal on some penny boards, and it was just a cool spot. They sell all the stuff you would expect to find in a skate shop. It’s a small joint but I’m loving this penny board I got there.

An «urban art supply» store, Maintain has grown to sell skate gear, graphic tees, books, magazines and videos you usually only find online or items that are hard to find. Think of the hey-day in the early 90’s when graffiti had first started to really take it’s mark in advertising, fashion and culture. Look to get a wide selection of paint, markers and tips to style up your production walls. The owner Alex is a likeable guy with no ego usually attached with graffiti bravado. Don’t get me wrong though, he’s a businessman through and through and will offer a kick-back when you purchase in bulk. Another gem that you may have passed a billion times on Sunset. From time to time there are shows and special events that keep the original hip-hop vibe going. But, don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself. –Joel
