I went to the first Downtown LA Club Crawl over the weekend and it was awesome! So much fun. We met at Mrs. Fish which was a nice place to start. We accidentally walked past the check-in table at first because it was just a small one off to the side, but after we found it everything was fine. It wasn’t too crowded and the vibes were good. There was a live band playing which was surprising. I don’t see that very often in the bars I go to. Overall the venue choices were solid. My favorite out of Crocker Club, Reserve, and Exchange was Reserve. It was much bigger than Crocker Club and they played super fun hip-hop/some top 40 so it was easy to dance to. The layout is aesthetically more pleasing and they have a fun photobooth which is always a plus for me. I prefer hip-hop over edm so I didn’t enjoy Exchange as much. It’s a cool place but most of the dance areas besides the main one on the top floor were empty, so it felt odd. Also the strobe light/effects were blinding and overwhelming for me. Couldn’t handle it. I admit I am sensitive to things like that though. We actually left and walked back to Reserve just because it was way more fun over there. I’m curious to see what other clubs they will offer in the future and would definitely to another LA club crawl again. If you don’t really know where to go for a night out, but want to stay downtown and not go all the way to Hollywood I think the club crawl is a perfect way to experience the nightlife and have a great time!
