A number of years ago I was invited by a friend to come here. He was the First AD on a movie shooting here. I was impressed by the studio. It has been refurbished many times over the years but it still has its foundation as an historic Hollywood studio. Another thing that I liked was that Center Studios rents offices to independent producers — so one can have an onsite presence. And the rental fees are very reasonable. If I could go back in time I would have rented one of the offices the first week I moved to LA. And renting studio space to shoot it is also pretty cheap — in respect to other places like Gower or Paramount. I am a fan

Came here for the Mad Decent Block Party yesterday and the event altogether was just alright. Even though it wasn’t too crowded, the venue itself was too small for a concert/show. 2 things I enjoyed though: 1. The porta potties were actually decent. 2. The view of the DTLA skyline at night. Simply beautiful! I’m thinking this place is nice for a farmer’s market or other small events but I don’t think I’ll ever be back for a concert. I might just be getting too old for this crap too, hahaha. In the end, Major Lazer killed it! I wish I decided to go today instead to see Diplo but there’s no way in hell in going 2 days in a row. This grandmas turning up at home.

I’ve been here a few times for Beer fests and Lobster Rumble. The bathrooms are clean and abundant, the venue is easy to see from anywhere you stand and while the event may get crowded, doesn’t get stuffy or feel like your suffocating. This is a great place to hold events such as these. Great work LA Center Studios!

What a uniquely LA experience. Wanted to experience being a part of a live studio audience and there were only a handful of shows you can bring kids under 18. We picked Girl Meets World, and had a great time. Here are the pros and cons of my experience. Pros: 1. It’s totally free!!! 2. The staff for the most part were very friendly. 3. There is free parking after 2:45pm. 4. Great experience and they keep things lively in between takes. 5. They even give you a free snack. We got a banana and water. 6. You can get a picture with the cast. Cons: 1. They turned away a BUNCH of people and they should distribute fewer tickets. They tickets you book online do not guarantee entrance. 2. The parking lot didn’t open until 2:45pm and it’s safe to say nobody got there after 2:30pm got in. 3. You can get a picture with the cast if you don’t mind wearing a cast later. 4. There are designated bathroom breaks and you will have to hold it. So, you have it. If you make it in you will have a great time. Good luck.

I’ve been to LACS for many types of events including educational forums and tapings. But, by far my best experience at LACS was LABeerFest 2014. In attendance there must have been nearly 1,000 people and the event went well — which made me realize that there must have been great collaboration between the event organizer, the vendors and of course the Studio. From what I saw, the staff at LACS was professional and able to handle the large and somewhat inebriated crowd.
