The summer day camp for w/e July 11,2014 was a huge disappointment to myself and my 9 year old granddaughter. The activities listed were computer time, no swiming lessons. Was able to 3 days out of 5. The bulk of her time her group Was spent in the gym and the field outside in 90 degree weather. iA major concern of Mine was what I viewd as poor security. The back gates where the field is located was open. It is a main artery(ave 26)) I called to speak to the director 2Xs, left a message and never received a call back. My grandaughter did not enjoy her 1st day And did not want to return, since I paid $ 85.00 for the week I kept telling her it would Get better, which it did not. She had one day in which she got to do a craft project and swim. I finally spoke with a person named Carlyn and expressed my concerns’ however she was not the director. i asked her why the kids were put out in the field in 90 degree temps., that is where they we’re suppose to be was the answer .iIt seems to me that there should be an alternative to putting the kids outside, and no ice. Water was provided. I asked about ice water, response was«there’s water» my translation meant a water faucet. I asked how many kids they had and the ratio of kids to adults, was told they had about 200 and ratio was 1 adult to 30 kids. LAUSDa standard. In terms of the pool, only 35 kids Can be be in the pool at a time, since they only have 2 life guards. The worst part was something happened on Friday, and the police were there and the place was in. Lockdown mode. I was never notified until my Friend went to pick up my grandaughter & her friend.
