I’ve been going to Nicole for my cut and color needs for a few years and I have to say she is AWESOME. I have fairly thick, wavy and unbelievably frizzy hair. It looks easy to style, no big deal — but one wrong move with the scissors and I end up with a serious case of triangle head or worse, mushroom head. On top of that, like many aging punk rock gals, I still want to look cool but I dread looking like I’m trying to have the hair of a 20 year old.
Nicole does an amazing job of taming the shape of my hair so that it looks totally cool with a minimum of work from me. Believe me, that takes some doing. She has a very nice touch with color, too: she knows how to pick just the right shade to complement my coloring and the color stays rich for a long time instead of oxididizing into a brassy mess. When she just does the roots, she blends it in decently with the overall color. In short, she really has the skills I need. And she does it all pretty damn fast, too.
On top of that, I always enjoy my conversations with Nicole.: the more I get to know her, the more interesting she gets. Books, music, movies, pop culture, humiliating episodes — these are but a few of the topics I’ve enjoyed discussing with her.
My husband recently started going with me so she can cut his hair while my color sets. I have to say, his hair never looked so good.
If you are looking for a warm, talented person to cut your hair in an environment totally free of typical hair salon bullshit, I strongly recommend Nicole at Little Sparrow.

This used to be Sugar Salon. Now its little sparrow, same location. The interior has a fresh paint job so it feels cleaner and brighter. Nicole is still here, still super awesome. I have long, wavy, frizzy, and now greying hair (I know sounds annoying), Nicole gave me a great cut and color that both last and looks healthy for months after. I have searched long and hard for a stylist that could deal with my hair texture, Its a classic case of stylists making me think they understand what I want and no matter what they still do what they want applying the same techniques they do to everyone else, hence the coloring was always a little too red or too light– and they would cut and style my hair like a soccer mom, and both the color and cut woul look even lamer within a couple of weeks. Nicole to the rescue! I leave looking hip and cool, and my greys are gone and my color is rich and dark, exactly how i wanted, but better! the cut always grows out still looking stylish and the color lasts until my roots grow out! Yay! Five stars every time :)

I am so happy I found Little Sparrow Salon! It’s hard to find a stylist that can handle these curly locks. I will be back!

I always leave this salon in good spirits :) Nicole has been cutting my hair for years and never disappoints me in the slightest. The cost for a haircut is affordable and the environment is perfect for kicking back and engaging in warm conversation. Highly recommend!

I would follow Spring Cooper to the ends of the earth, but I’m glad she’s at Little Sparrow because it’s lovely and is a great location. But like I said, I would follow Spring anywhere. She has been cutting my hair for about ten years. My husband converted to Spring and now our three year old daughter gets her hair cut by Spring as well. Spring can handle any style, and she does so with ease and speed. Spring makes it look effortless, but her cuts and color are perfect every time. I have truly had a ton of people stop me and ask where I get my cut and color. Every time I go in, I tell Spring I just don’t want to look like a «mom.» She keeps my hair effortlessly stylish, with great color.

Little Sparrow as taken over the great location of Sugar on Sunset. With it’s fresh new face lift and great atmosphere, I love this place. Spring has been doing my hair for over 15 years! I love her and I am truly grateful for her. I could gush on and on but honestly I leave happy every time.
Simple put. This salon is great for these reasons: Location, people, parking, and prices. A gem indeed.
