Best PHO in west LA by far, very nice service always and always consistent noodle texture. not too much either about 9 bucks a bowl

I’ve been coming here since the place opened and have never been disappointed. They deliver a variety of delicious phở, which you can spice up or taste tame. I prefer the fresh, healthier spring shrimp rolls over the fried imperial rolls. And their intensely rich coffee will knock your socks off. Allow time to find parking– if you’re lucky there’s a public lot in the back.

Cold night and hot phở/ Rare beef with a tasty broth/ Would come back for more I ate here one night, after recovering from a bout with food poisoning the night before(thanks, Chipotle!) and my stomach needed something soupy and hearty but not too heavy. This place hit the spot. If you’ve had phở, you know what to expect. The rare beef phở tasted great; lots of meat, good noodles and the usual trimmings. All for a reasonable price. Can’t go wrong.

Le Saigon is a local restaurant that fixes your Vietnamese food cravings. Today I had the hankering for some vermicelli and fried spring rolls, so my bf and I found ourselves here. The servings are not tiny, but they are smaller than what you would expect from SGV or Westminster Vietnamese restaurants. The imperial rolls, or fried spring rolls were tasty and hot, just super small. It’s like when you imagine a hot dog in your head but get a Vienna sausage. The taste is good though. The vermicelli noodle dish came with cucumbers, mint, carrots, sliced bbq pork, and an imperial roll on top. I poured my fish sauce on like cray and went to town. I finished everything and was satiated but not stuffed, probably better for my waistline. I will definitely come back for more affordable Vietnamese food in the area. I want to try their phở next time. I would definitely recommend coming here instead of Phở Citi on Westwood. This place is homey and clean.

I came here a couple of days ago and it was so-so. It took them awhile to bring the food but I liked the large portion size and how it tasted. Food was pretty delicious. When I asked to take my left overs home I noticed that they took my plate away and only gave back a tiny portion of my left overs. Also when I asked for the dessert menu the woman coldly said, «we don’t have dessert» and that made me feel like such a disappointed fat ass… like I felt guilty asking for dessert. I don’t want to come back here.

I have been going to Le Saigon for almost 13 years. It’s a little restaurant located on Santa Monica Boulevard. This last visit, I ordered the Phở Dac Biet(combination special). The soup is always the telling part of the broth. I found that it was pretty authentic tasting, albeit a bit tamed down(probably for the Western palate). The dish contained cooked flank steak, a few meat balls, and rare steak(which I got on the side). Served with fresh veggies — bean sprouts, Thai Basil, Jalapenos, and limes. The phở was good, but not spectacular. The serving was a bit small for $ 8 – 9 a bowl. I also got one order each of the Spring Rolls(rice paper wrapped with lettuce, shrimp, herbs. The spring rolls were decent. The peanut sauce was good. I also got the Spring Rolls with Grilled pork sausage(Neng Num? Spelling?). This dish was rice paper wrapped with lettuce, pork sausage, and served with a fish sauce dipping sauce. Again here, it was okay. You ask why the four stars? Because of the customer service. This restaurant appears to be run by a very humble family. They were super friendly and courteous. Everyone looked like they tried hard to please the customer, and that kind of service makes my food taste extra good! Food Grade: B Service Grade: A Worth the Money Grade: B+ Overall Impression Grade: B+

We had the Bun Cha and egg rolls and they were both delicious. I recently came back from Vietnam and decided to try this place and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend!

I really like this cute little Vietnamese place… The spring rolls, Phở and Chicken Vermacelli are really good… Fair prices with big portions… The egg rolls are not that great kinda dry and there is only street parking some days you have to drive around a lot to find a space.

You never think of the Westside for Vietnamese food, but I finally made it in here the other day and I was very pleased with my meal. I live a little further West off of SaMo Blvd. and I also work very close by, so this place is perfectly convenient to get my Vietnamese food fix. The outside is cute withe a couple tables and the inside is fairly cozy. I’m surprised it took me this long to make my way in. I had the spring rolls and the #2 beef brisket phở. Although, not as flavorful as others I have had and a bit more expensive, it still hit the spot. The service was attentive and friendly on my visit, so I’ll be back.

Le Saigon is the closest thing to OC Viet food in my opinion. The owners are viet and their coffee is awesome. I reduced the stars to 3 because I consistently receive bad customer service from 1 male waiter. He’s not even Viet. He’s the Chinese one. He tends to reach over your food to pick up your empty plate. Why can’t he just politely ask us? While he’s cleaning the table next to us, he uses the cleaning spray too close to us– causing us to inhale the spray. It even gets in our food sometimes! When he’s wiping off the tables next to us, he wipes stuff onto our table too!!! He’s the only problem I have with this place. The food is great though.

I have been coming here for years for the consistently delicious, authentic Vietnamese dishes! I love their imperial rolls and fresh shrimp and pork spring rolls. The Vermicelli noodle dish with chargrilled pork is incredible, served with an abundance of noodles, meat, fresh veggies, a skewer of grilled shrimp and an imperial roll! I also love the rare beef Phở! It’s flavorful and delicious. I generally treat myself to a decadent, Iced Vietnamese Coffee with condensed milk. It is yummy, rich and served fresh to perfection. It is served to drip at your table. A yummy, after meal treat. The service is also always exceptional with a wonderful, friendly staff!

I came to Le Saigon in search of an alternative to Nong La since the latter suffers from long lines during lunch and dinner times. My cousin had previously recommended Le Saigon, as she had enjoyed the food and spotted several celebrities dining here in the past. Being a star gazer, I was curious whether any bespectacled /incognito stars would make an appearance, but sadly I was disappointed. That disappointment, however, extended from the lack of famous people to the food, with which I had a terrible experience. The restaurant itself is pretty casual with a cozy atmosphere. Parking is tough, but you can find street parking along the residential streets that intersect Santa Monica. There are a number of small tables in the restaurant lit by soft /dim lights. I didn’t have to wait for a table on a weekday evening, but I’ve heard the restaurant can get busy. The servers were a little gruff /short, but I got the sense that they didn’t speak English very well. Nevertheless, I was happy to find a restaurant that seemed, for all intents and purposes, decent. HOWEVER, I suffered a delayed allergic reaction to the bun saigon dac biet(#8). Although the menu stated that the dish could be prepared without peanuts, I am pretty certain that something in the dish had been contaminated, as I ended up vomitting for the next several hours and having to take allergy medicine throughout the evening. If I had been able to enjoy the food, I probably would have rated it Le Saigon three stars based on the quality of the food, but this experience left me literarily and figuratively gagging. When restaurants make a special note about preparing food without certain ingredients, I expect them to avoid contamination. Given this experience, I would NOT recommend coming to Le Saigon if you have a peanut allergy.(If you have a severe peanut allergy and are sensitive to vapors, then this place is obviously a no-go.) Some Vietnamese restaurants are good about accommodating peanut allergies, but this one is not one of them. Maybe the phở would have been minimized the risk of contamination, but rather than test my luck again, I think I’d rather stick to Nong La, where I’ve had a much better dining experience.

Although my dining experience was pretty good, my friend had a bad allergic reaction to their food thus I have to give a lower rating. Sadly, the West Los Angeles area does not have many good Vietnamese food options. Given the decent reviews for this place, my friend and I decided to try this place out with the hopes of finding a go-to Vietnamese food place to eat. The place was pretty small and cramped, but we were able to be seated right away. Besides the phở, a lot of people had raved about the Nem Nuong, or roll your own rolls plate, which I decided to try. Along with rice paper and assorted herbs, you have your choice of meat. The rice papers are individually separated by plates. You pull each off and stuff them with whatever portions you wish into the rice paper. I loved the mounds of fresh cilantro and basil and the sauce was a nice combination of salty and sweet. Unless you are a master roller(unlike me…), the stuff does manage to spill everywhere so be prepared for it to fall out! There is parking on the street but it tends to get busy so it may be hard to find. The service was overall friendly and fast. When I was having difficulty with my food, my server offered tips on how to better wrap my food. Although I did enjoy my dish and the service, I did have to take a star for poor preparation of food in the kitchen. My friend had specified that he had a peanut allergy and the server acknowledged that they could cook his food so he would not have to worry. However, after completing our meal, my friend had a pretty nasty reaction to the food. My gripe is that if you are going to serve food and make promises, you should be very forthcoming about the food that comes out. My trust in the restaurant has been lowered… Overall, I would say that while I enjoyed my nem nuong, I could not –with full confidence– go back knowing that my friend had such a bad reaction to their food.

Typical hole in the wall phở place. Very small, hardly any room to sit, but the food is tasty. Not amazing, but good. Service was fine and the location was convenient, but it was a little pricey for what you get. But, as it stands, this happens to be basically the only vietnamese place on the westside, so I’ll probably be back. CASHONLY!

This restaurant is located right on Santa Monica Blvd. I believe they do not have their private parking lot(well I couldn’t find any) and you will have to look for street parking. The street right behind is residential and you might be able to find parking there. The restaurant itself is pretty small. There were only like 10 tables. I ordered my usual phở with rare beef and meatballs. They put the rare beef in a little pile in the middle to make it look artistic. The broth was nothing special, but the rare beef is so good. They put it in rare so you’re basically cooking with your soup and it’s not chewy because it doesn’t overcook. The egg rolls were okay. They texture of the meat inside felt a little grainy and they were so tiny! They were like mini egg rolls. Being in the West side of LA, I did expect it to be a little pricey. but $ 9 for a bowl of phở is a little much! BRINGCASH! & go to churros calientes for dessert! It’s a block down the street.

Just had a late lunch here. Just a short walk from my apartment. I’m a fan of cheap eats! I’m not a fan of phở and vietnamese food… but I can deal with rice and meat. Had the number 11 with pork. Pretty solid choice. If you’re in the area and looking for vietnamese food and on a budget… I recommend checking out Le Saigon. Customer service was fast and friendly. Indoor/outdoor casual dining. cash only.

I like the vibe here, but not the food much. Quite frankly, not the service much either. This was in my queue to write, and it’s nearly a year old. It was my first venture into the craze, Phở. It was so average, I didn’t think I would ever try it again. Since, I’ve had Phở a few times and liked it. I summarize the experience much like Michael S., the phở was below average in flavor and texture. 1. Phở Chin Nam rice noodle with well-cooked beef($ 8) — nice presentation, but pass. 2. Tom Nuong with rice noodles and sliced pork($ 8.50) — very much lettuce, tough pork, little dressing, boring. Would I go again? No.
