Nice atmosphere. Decorated very cutely. Was pretty enjoyable. I will admit that the classical music playing just one notch too loudly was slightly pretentious. I got a parfait. I think I forced myself to savor it more than it should have savored been because it cost $ 9 — super astronomical prices here, but what can you expect in Beverly. The wait staff all looked very clean(idk why but cleanliness is always a big deal to me) and were helpful, but I was clearly not their average customer and they did not fail to help me realize it(I’m 20, price conscientious, don’t have fake eyelashes or fancy purse, wore sweats proudly and I came in alone lololol). The waiter was clearly perturbed and judged me when I said that I didn’t care if my granola was gluten free(actually pretty humorous in retrospect) Honestly, the parfait could have been better, and the small mochas were $ 5.30 apiece and not as good as Peet’s coffee, which are appropriately priced and way tastier. However, they let me stick around and read at one of their nice tables and didn’t pester me. One thing I was peeved by was that when I asked for another mocha to go, they made it in a mug. When I reminded them that it was to go, the barista just simply slopped it into a to go cup and poured more foam on the top to fill it up. If a customer is paying $ 5+ for an 8oz coffee and adding a tip for the barista, then they should really just remake the whole thing. Just my opinion… 3 stars due to the crazy prices for the mostly basic organic fad foods, the somewhat lazy barista, and for being demonized for my penchant for gluten.

I live nearby and have frequented this location on a number of occasions and every time I go the service and rudeness of staff just gets worse and worse. The coffee which they slop together is from a Keurig type machine and tastes horrible. The only reason this place is still in business is because of its location. This review is one star too many.

Do not order coffee from here! I ordered one latte and one mocha to go yesterday. After leaving and waiting about 5 minutes for them to cool off, my friend and I were incredibly disappointed to discover that BOTH our drinks were BURNT! The taste of the espresso in the drinks was overwhelmingly burnt! And these drinks aren’t cheap. I wish I could have asked for them to remake the drinks but I was long gone by then. And as a medical professional, I know that burnt coffee is carcinogenic. My friend and I had to throw away both our drinks.

Great, healthy, organic food, and an awesome staff! I love how easy it is too see exactly what your eating, what ingredients they use, etc. The open faced Tartines are beautiful, and their salads are by far the most filling things on the menu, they are just piled high with delicious veggies! You have to go in when they are a bit slower to get excellent service, because sometimes the staff seems to be stressed out during their busier hours. Justin and Oh are the greatest! They always have time for great conversations and always have a helpful recommendation. Definitely a place to stop by and check out.

I came here after a recommendation for a good place to study… I was having a relaxed day and wanted to have a mocha and work on school stuff, so I was wearing yoga pants and a plain shirt… not high fashion, but I felt good– great hair day, just got a facial, all was well with the world. I walked in, and the man working there looked me up and down with a snobby, smug look, then continued on. So I walked to the counter. Then, I couldn’t believe it, the SECOND man working there looked me up and down, then tersely asked what I would like to order. What was wrong? Is it the shoes?! I’m generally not sensitive to that sort of attitude, but this was so conspicuous, I was rather annoyed! I ordered myself a mocha(at the counter, after which I noticed a sign farther down the counter saying that the counter was for to go orders only… maybe put that sign where people will see it walking in). So I sat down anyway. Luckily when the server came up to bring me a menu(this was a different man than the first two), I explained I hadn’t seen the sign until after I ordered, and he smiled and said no problem… so one out of three employees were friendly. And now the flavor: The mocha was fair, drinkable but too bitter. Nothing special at all. But then I sat down to get on my laptop, and the wifi was not working. It was a lovely location, nice outdoor seat with perfect weather. My plan had been to start with a drink, then get lunch a little later. Realizing I had no desire to get lunch there and was unable to get work done, I left. I guess it was a to-go order after all. So I did not try anything to eat. But I don’t plan on returning. The search continues for a good coffee shop/study location in this area.

I meet my friend here often for lunch. I’ve never had a bad experience. Even the cons I list below, I’m willing to look past. But I have the benefit of coming before rush/peak hours. The food is good enough to keep me coming back. Pros: The food is excellent & fresh. I’ve had several tartines & salads. I’ve never had a bad meal. Service has always been good. The waiters have always been attentive. The even offer take-out if you don’t want to sit down. They have a lovely bakery counter. Cons: Parking — There is none. At the corner of Robertson & Burton, street parking is extremely limited. I have always visited during early lunch hours so after a trip or 2 around the neighborhood I usually find a spot. Street parking is expensive at $ 2.00 per hour. It’s Beverly Hills folks. It’s seat-your-self & the tables fill up fast. I saw 1 person sitting at a table for 4 by herself with her laptop. Hello, this is not Starbucks! There were other singles at tables for 4. Meanwhile other patrons were forced to go to the communal table. They have a long communal table. I hate communal tables. I don’t want to eat with a stranger!

One of the worse experience and service! This is not the first time I’m eating here but first time in this location. Worse service ever. We asked for fruit to come first, then reminded him again that we don’t want it with our food. He said as soon as it’s out I’ll bring it. Of course, it came with our food. It was supposed to be mixed fruit bowel but it was mainly melon. Then salad came with no dressing, we asked for lite. Another person brought dressing without spoons or anything to mix it with. That took several more minutes. The salad tasted as if it had sand in it. I’ve had this before, never tasted that way. When I asked him what was in it and that it tastes like sand, he said let me ask. Manager came over to bring us something I asked if he was the manager he said yes, didn’t ask me why I’m asking just walked away. I returned the salad told him couldn’t eat it, but he charged me for it anyways. We asked for crackers, of course that didn’t come. Horrible! Left hungry and paid for it all! $ 77 for not eating. Nice

I popped in here for the first time after taking care of some business in the area. I was parked at a meter in front and figured«eh why not?» I am so happy that I did. I walked in and the gentleman, who I think was the manager, told me to go ahead and seat myself, so I sat out on the patio, as it was a gorgeous afternoon. Within 2 min my server came by with menus. The manager came to see me not 5 min later and spoke to me about the menu — I was torn between a few items, and he helped me narrow it down. I ordered the shrimp and avocado salad, gazpacho and a chocolate croissant and a lemonade iced tea to wash it all down. Did I mention that I was starving at the time?! Lol. The food was amazing! The salad was a bed of peppery arugula topped with a blend of roasted corn, red onion and a splash of chopped jalapeño with a lemony dressing. The jalapeño was the perfect spice to complement the peppery spice in the arugula and the crème de la crème here was the handful of chopped mint throughout the salad. Such a perfect flavor balance — kudos chef. The gazpacho was perfectly blended with a chiffon of zucchini and mango in top and served with a drizzle of basil oil, which you smell the instant the soup hits your table. A perfect compliment to a fresh salad on a hot day. And what can u say about a chocolate croissant right? It was buttery and flakey and the perfect finish to my lunch. Well brunch. Yes I was quite stuffed afterward but so satisfied. As for the beverage — by the look and taste of it — it was freshly squeezed and came to the table in a carafe accompanied by a glass of ice. Quite charming. Something about this meal outside at a charming little table reminded me of my trip to Paris and dining at outdoor cafes. It was such a great experience.

this is a great place and way to start the day. stopped in while waiting for a friend at cedars, and soaked in the peacefulness, the escape from robertson and the busy area. had a perfect ice coffee and chocolate croissant. even though i wasn’t having that much, service was lovely and friendly as always. there’s a great personal touch here because the manager sergio came on over to say hello, make sure all was fine, then came back over again later when he saw my coffee was low for a refill. this place is rustic, relaxing, tasty and always a welcome respite from the bustling area. the food has just the right snap and freshness to invigorate and satiate! so, yup come on down and chow down! c’est-bonne! ;-)

My three friends and I just finished our delicious meals at this place and I couldn’t wait to write a review the service was amazing, Oh, our waiter, was super nice and caring, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was tasty, spiced and measured to perfection, and the entire staff from the waiters to the manger couldn’t be any sweeter! We got the bill as soon as we asked for it, asked to split it, and got our own separate ones to comfortably sign it. All in all, we had a great afternoon experience and will all definitely come back many times more! Btw, everything is organic and pricing is reasonable.

This is a great neighborhood joint. The staff is very friendly and the food /drinks are consistently good. Aidin is my favorite barista. He makes the best lattes! Most menu items are organic, which is great. The baguette bread is YUM but there are also gluten free crackers for those who need a substitute.

Great customer service and top notch team! My favorite morning spot for organic coffee and breakfast. Their pastries are always so fresh and their bread is the best. I love this location and they have really stepped up their game. Adin is a gem!

If I could give 0 starts I really would. I have been to other locations and extremely satisfied. This one was just on another level from the service and the food. Our server Justin B. Was no where to be found. We just saw him socializing in the corner with other servers. Very unwelcome, and rude attitude. I would never go back to this location again, even if it was a last standing restaurant on Robertson.

i love coming here for breakfast. So many neat things to explore from the awesome waffles to the varied scrambles. The staff is considerate, helpful and attentive. I know other reviews mentioned slow service but that hasn’t been my experience. The coffees are so flavorful, check out the neat vegetarian dishes, love the omelettes, frittatas. bistro or bakery. now that is the question. check out this place or its sister locations, you cant go wrong

My usual breakfast spot. Love the tartines, perfect size for brunch and easy to share. The smoked salmon one is my favorite. And their lemonade ice tea is the best. Completely organic tea and perfect blend of the two favors. The hummus is good too, especially the olive dipped in it, served with fresh bread. Must try all types of the jam and spreads. Chocolate, chestnut, white chocolate almond, apricot, blueberry, peach, etc. for deserts, mixed berry tart and chocolate croissant are both solid choices.

I’ll begin with a positive– the food here was of good quality. The reason I’m only giving two stars is because they charged me $ 5 for a single hard boiled egg. Im sorry, but a hard boiled egg is a hard boiled egg– there was nothing special about it, it wasn’t even peeled from the shell! Sometimes you go to a nice place and overlook the bill because the experience justifies the cost, but this place is just a regular café(there’s nothing special about the place). I only noticed the amount I was charged for the egg later when I came across the receipt at home.

Nice and friendly spot for brunch. Not too busy. Prompt service. Food is organic! Which I love and the breads are amazing! I ordered the spinach and goat cheese frittata, nice presentation, but I thought the frittata was under seasoned for my taste. Will go back occasionally :)

We came here for lunch and had the smoked Salmon and vegetable tart with cheddar corn soup on the thanksgiving afternoon. The ambience and the food were in perfect sync with the mood. I recommend sitting outside, as it is a nice quite location. We had organic carrot cake for dessert and it tasted delicious. Our server was humble and polite and quick with service. I definitely recommend this place for a different dining experience.

Just not really a fan. I have been to two of their locations now, and left not as much in love with it all as I should have been. Service slow and not very friendly, just had a coffee, since last time since I was not wowed by their baguette and their desserts and pastries are outrageously priced. Not really worth going back to.
