If you are renter I recommend staying away from Las Casas Realty. I rented a house two years ago that was represented by Priscilla Gonzales at Las Casas Realty. I’m now moving out and Priscilla is representing my landlord once again. I have two cats and gave Priscilla specific instructions to be aware of when showing the house to potential renters. What I didn’t think I needed to tell her was to NOT remove the doorstop keeping the closet with the litter box in it from closing. I DIDN’T think I needed to tell her that if she removed the doorstop and closed the door to open it before she left so my cats had a place to do their business. I assumed both of these things obvious… Here’s what I found when I got home the day after the showing: the doorstop was removed, the closet was closed, one of the cats pooped on my sons bed, a pillow had been put on top of the feces to cover it up, given no other options the cats used a full laundry hamper as a litter box, on top of that pile of laundry was a pretty expensive shirt I was given as a gift by my fiancé less than two months ago. I was not happy. I acknowledged it was a mistake and asked if she would somehow compensate me for the destroyed clothes(I’m NEVER wearing anything soaked overnight in a cocktail of urine and feces). Here’s a snippet of that conversation: Priscilla: «I’m sorry I just don’t know what to say I don’t believe it was my fault I didn’t do it on purpose I didn’t mean for your cat to do that I don’t know how you can think I’m responsible for this. No I will not compensate you for this I don’t feel it was my fault if it were my fault and I did it because I didn’t follow your directions I would most definitely be responsible.» Me: «Accidents and mistakes happen. I have taught my son that it’s what you do afterwards that is important when they occur. I’m sorry that you refuse to see your responsibility in this matter… whether explicit or implicit. As you were acting as an agent for [the landlord], I have spoken with him and requested no further direct contact from you.»
