AMAZINGFOOD! If you want to give it a try, they’re not at the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market anymore. I used to have the tacos when I lived nearby in Culver City, then they stopped being at the market. I thought they were gone forever until I found them at the Manhattan Beach Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays! So yummy and great prices.

Larry’s had a stand at the Culver City v St Francis playoff football game. The carne asada tacos were fantastic. Homemade tortillas, fantastic flavorful salsa and nice meat. Wanted to go back for two more but the game was too good to leave my seat’

The carne asada tacos are so fresh, flavorful, and distinct. The price for a taco is well worth it because it’s big and loaded. The family who serves them are so warm and friendly and will remember you after coming just a few times. This is the main reason I go to the Mar Vista Farmers Market. I wish I could have these any day of the week. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This is the best taco place we’ve had in LA. I love the freshly made tortilla. The Carne asada quesadilla was fantastic as are the chicken and Carne asada tacos. Sure the condiments aren’t spectacular but when the main ingredients are so good, it makes the whole taco delicious. I’m sad that I haven’t found other places like this in LA.

We made our farmer’s market dining choice based on the(comparatively) massive line at Larry’s. Now that I’ve had their food, I actually am surprised they’re so popular. It wasn’t bad, in fact, it was good enough… just not massive-line-worthy. The fish tacos were piled with other ‘stuff,’ and nearly impossible to eat as an actual taco(I resorted to fork and knife). I did love that they make their tortillas fresh.

Larry’s Grill tacos are good, but today we had a bad experience. We are weekly regulars to Larry’s and the cash lady overcharged us for the quesadilla. It was 50 cents, but still. When I politely asked her why, she said that the prices changed. FYI, the change was not on the price list, and that’s what I told her. She argued with me that it was and then I walked away. TOOBAD for Larry’s Grill because we are not going to go anymore! Brown on brown subversion at its finest :(

pretty good carne asada and pollo tacos at the farmer’s market $ 2.50/ea the meat flavor was nice, the soft taco tortilla was a little thicker and had a bean spread. asked for spicy salsa but didn’t pack much heat could use more cilantro and onions instead of a large amount of cabbage

Review based on a fish taco and a carne asada quesadilla. I usually get an omelet or something from Café Laurant’s stand at the Mar Vista market but this particular time I was in the mood for something a little different. So I hit up Larry’s Grill and was very pleasantly surprised. The Fish Tacos aren’t overpowering and are nice and crispy and have the usual condiments: cabbage, white creamy sauce, cilantro and onions. But what brought everything together was a really nice white cotija cheese that resembles parmigiano. Onto the Carne Asada which was served on something I hadn’t seen before but seemed like a twist between a pita and a flour taco and held together very well. Same as above with the condiments and the flavour of the marinated beef was pretty darn good in each bite. Hopefully Señor Larry will have a more permanent location as his tacos are a cut above your run of the mill places like Rubios or Tito’s tacos.

i know you’ve heard this before, but: damn good tacos. larry starts with tortillas made from scratch on-site then warmed on the griddle. he smears a layer of unassuming creamy beans that only a well made tortilla like his can handle. then you pick your protein pollo or steak(i haven’t tried the battered fried fish or the guacky veggie). the meats are marinated with the usual suspects, but he nudges up the vinegar/acid level while still maintaining a balanced flavor. finish it with cabbage, cheese, and a salsa to make you slap whoever you’re with. larry mentioned he’s available for catering until he has enough money to open a restaurant.
