The best waffles I have ever eaten! My boyfriend and I started our day with breakfast here this morning. It was pouring rain but we found comfort in the cozy and warm café that had a homey feel. I ordered the red velvet waffles, and he ordered the red and blue pancakes. The waffles were beautifully presented. Overall, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They did not taste cocoa-y as red velvet usually is and considering the extreme red color I am assuming the name comes from the color not the taste. Nevertheless, they were incredible!

Very solid brunch place! I had a lobster cake benedict and it was very tasty. I think it’s also great that their coffee is roasted in restaurant. I met up with a friend here around 10:30am on a Saturday and the wait was about 20 – 30 minutes. Once you go in, you order at the counter and find your own seats. The décor was VERY cute. The bungalow style is adorable and the outside patio seating is great on a nice day

Larchmont Bungalow is hands down my favorite go-to brunch spot in LA. There are a ton of amazing brunch places in LA but I keep coming back to Larchmont Bungalow for their red and blue velvet pancakes. The pancakes are gorgeous – huge and fluffy. Paired with the cream cheese frosting and some walnuts, oh my goodness, it’s perfect. I’ve also had their eggs benedict, lobster grilled cheese, and omelette. Everything here is delicious, you really can’t go wrong with any dish. My go-to orders are definitely the smoked salmon eggs benedict with a half portion of the red and blue velvet pancakes to share with friends(it comes with 3 pieces). All menu items(including breakfast) are available all-day, so I’ve gotten the pancakes at 7pm before, LOL. On the weekends during brunch time the wait is usually around 30 – 45 minutes. But during the other off-hours there really isn’t that many people around. Parking shouldn’t be a problem. You can either park along the street, in the parking lot down the street, or street park around the area.

This place was delightful. I couldn’t believe how amazing this place was. The Larchmont Village is so cute and unique and it’s a gem in Hollywood area. On a clear day you have an amazing view of the Hollywood sign on this street. I really enjoyed the ambiance and service here as well. The red and blue pancakes are a must. The lobster and crab cake Benedict was good and nicely made as well ! The coffee is roasted in house and is organic which I loved.

Total disappointment. That sums up how i felt about the food. A true gimmick. Of course i read reviews about the red & blue pancakes. even though most have gone above and beyond to say how good this plate is… i should have listened to those who said it wasnt worth it. What i SHOULDHAVEGOTTEN… was one of those lobster dishes or benedicts. those actually looked more pleasing then these pancakes. My red & blue velvet pancakes were completely flavorless. The only reason it had any kind of taste was the cream cheese spreaded over the top and in between these big chunks of pancakes. The nuts on top gave it some character and texture. definitely added to the flavor. But otherwise… was TOTALLY A WASTEOFMONEY. It really is just good for a photo on instagram and thats about it. I didnt try the french toast since it was my friends dish. But i did however liked how it was smothered in slices of strawberry which is a plus since not many places like ti put much fruit on their dishes. Overall. i’d probably make my way back out here to try other dishes and give an updated rating. But DONTORDERTHERED&BLUEVELVETPANCAKES. If you must order it. get half dish and not a full dish. It really is a complete disappointment. Waste of time, money, mileage and gas!

LABRUNCHHH. I heard good things about their red and blue velvet pancakes so we had to try them! And it definitely did not disappoint. Of all the entrees we ordered, the red and blue velvet pancakes was the clear winner. The outside was slightly crispy and super moist and fluffy inside. It’s texture was more like a fluffy spongy cake and was not overly sweet at all. It was topped off with a light cream cheese frosting, walnuts, and a side of syrup. Delicious! We also got to try the lobster crab cake benedict, seafood lover omelet, and the smoked salmon crêpe. The lobster crab cake benedict was topped with spinach, poached eggs and an island fruit salsa. There was a good amount of lobster. Overall I thought this was good and different! The seafood lover omelet was filled with lobster, shrimp, fresh blue crab, and spinach topped with a truffle hollandaise. There was a good amount of seafood but overall this omelet was lacking in taste. It was quite bland. We needed tobacco sauce. The smoked salmon crêpe had smoked salmon, eggs, spinach, capers, caramelized onions, and topped with cream cheese. This was also just alright and bland. Overall, these entrees were lacking in taste. :/Thankfully the pancakes made our meal better: o Get their pancakes! It’s a must try! :)

Came here in the morning for breakfast/brunch with a friend. You order your food at the counter, receive a # and sit yourself at any open table. The space is very cute! I ordered the salmon benedict and my friend ordered the red velvet waffles. The salmon benedict was absolutely PERFECT!!! I think I would have preferred another side other than the fruit, but that’s a small oversight. The eggs were poached perfectly, the salmon was flavorful and the hollandaise were on point. My friends red velvet waffles were also very good… not too overly sweet. Service could have been better. It took us a while to wave someone down to be able to ask for some water, which is why I took off a star.

Finally came to visit this place ;). Got lost since the navigator seems to be confused by sending us to the house behind Larchmont Bungalow lol. Anyways parking is by street and meter so be sure to bring some 25 cents. Like the feel of the place pretty chill, casual and has that simple and open feel. Order is up front and can basically sit anywhere. It has both indoor and outdoor sitting area. I ordered Salmon with Jasmine rice and mix Veg, Clam chowder for my sister and we shared a half order of the 2 Red and 1 Blue velvet Pancake instead of 6 pieces. Everything was very tasty and since i rarely order fish in restaurants or out i was very glad i tried the Salmon because it was cooked and seasoned well. My sister love her order and it did not look like the usual clam chowder with just white thick soup. For some reason i taste a hint of curry?.. lol well that’s how i tasted it & over all good. The velvets were really good moist, semi sweet and crunchy on the outside. Over all we enjoyed our time at Larchmont Bungalow not only for its ambiance and pretty nice servers because we enjoyed the food so much. Will be back next time for sure and hopefully it’ll be another good experience.

A REALFIREPLACE! Fascinating!(It’s a rarity in Hawaii, but I was in Los Angeles. .) Yuri-chan and Kenzie-chan both had this place bookmarked. I had heard about it from Dana who found out about it from Joseph A. Tim had said it was a really nice place, so we decided to meet up here for the last brunch of my most recent LA visit. After you find metered street parking, the place is a bit challenging to find because the sign is so subtle. It’s such a warm, cozy feeling inside with a lot of wood décor. Outside seating is available, but it was a rather cool day in December. After we placed our beverage order, Kenzie and I sat for a while on the sofa in front of the REAL fireplace, then joined Yuri and Tim at the table for our meal.(After you order, take your number to your table and your food is served to you!) Our Quinoa Blueberry Pancakes and Oatmeal Pancakes with Mango & Blueberry were disappointing. Maybe they were«too healthy» because they were rather dry and tasteless. The Red & Blue Velvet Pancakes were surprisingly good! This is not your typical flat pancake — it is a taller hockey puck-like structure with a thin layer of sweetened cream cheese filling in the middle. The outside was a bit crisp and yummy! The winner may have been the Tequila-infused Strawberries on French Toast — wow! The textures, combinations of flavors, and creativity of the dish were outstanding! I would get it again and try some of the other breakfast items! Looking forward to my next visit here! Who wants to join me?

Red/Blue Velvet Pancakes: NOOOO. Expected something soo much better because the pics make it look so nice but it’s dry(had to force water down my throat to swallow it) and artificial tasting. This review won’t stop people from getting it but you’ve been warned. Lower your expectations by 100. Steak Benedict: Overpriced. $ 20 for two little things and the meat was pretty tough. Maybe if you get it medium rare it’ll be better? And don’t be fooled by pics with potatoes next to them because they don’t come with it.(I thought it did and was pretty sad) Setting: Pretty cute and café-like. You order in the front and get a number and they give it to you. Overall verdict: Probably won’t be back. There’s so many yummier cafes/brunch places that aren’t overpriced and overrated.

Fantastic place for breakfast and/or brunch! Such a cozy atmosphere and setting, it definitely sets the mood for whatever meal you’re eating! I came here with my sister before leaving SoCal for breakfast and the meal was amazingly good. Order at the front, get a # and take a seat! The décor was super homely and definitely feels like a brunch joint. There is limited seating, but it’s never that crowded on weekdays. The benedicts were good! I don’t like the type of bread they use, but the egg and everything else was great. Their velvet pancake was superb! Dig it so much. Came in two colors blue and red! stuffed with cream. Jesus, this was bomb. Great place for brunch with your family or friends.

Unfortunately, I was never one to hop on bandwagons. This is why I’m always the odd ball out :(Larchmont Bungalow was probably on the top of my TOTRY list for the longest time and the EGGcitement, I could not contain to finally go here. .:Atmosphere/Service:. Hipster, cutesy, cozy. Order at the counter, take a number, and they will bring out the food to your table when it’s ready. Service? IDK… the cashier was not very enthusiastic, not very helpful when I asked what he would recommend, and he had the most«WHATEVER…» attitude. We came on Black Friday around 11−12pm. About 4 – 5 tables were open. The server who brought out the food was quite friendly, despite dropping the pancake flight topping a little, he immediately took it back to redo the topping without us saying anything. .:Food:. Lobster Crab Cake 14.95: crab/lobster cakes stuffed with spinach topped with perfectly poached eggs. paired with a side of potatoes. Pretty good, the cake was a little more on the saltier side. The eggs were. well, eggs, which pretty much makes everything good. Potatoes were ok, a bit more on the dry side. Red & Blue Velvet Pancakes 14.95: their own twist on pancakes, it looks completely different from the usual pancake. Topped with their cream cheese spread, homemade whipped cream sandwiched in between, garnished with candied walnuts and maple syrup. SUPER heavy dish. Be warned. I ate 2 – 4 bites and I was done. The rest I forcefully ate since it was ~15 bucks. Good, but SO heavy, my heart beats a little slower with each bite. The pancakes were SUPER moist though. So kuddos on that. .:Parking:. There were street parking in front, but you pay meters. It was full when we got there so we went to the nearest parking lot in between the shops. It was only $ 1.50 for about 1 hour.(THANKTHEPARKINGFAIRIES, because in SF, it would have been 10+ bucks for 1 hr)

Cute and cozy place. People look happy inside the restaurant and are enjoying themselves. Delicious coffee and fresh juices orange juice that’s made there. We had the red velvet waffles, the garden omelette and the seafood omelette. Friendly staff. Wonderful place to have brunch with friends on a sunny morning. They ask that you come to study, have work meetings, work on your laptop before 10am and after 3pm.

I’m not a huge breakfast fan but I’ll always try and get my friends to come here if they want to brunch. The line always looks long on weekends but I’ve never waited more than 30 minutes. There are also lots of cute shops around to browse if you get bored. It gets a little squished at times but the place is super cute and cottage-y looking. Everything with smoked salmon is really good but my favorite is the smoked salmon dish and the smoked salmon benedict. The pictures of the red/blue velvet pancakes make it look amazing. I finally ordered some when I came with a big group and was a big dissapointed. They weren’t really pancakes, they had more of a cake or muffin texture.

Heard so much about this place and decided to come check it out. Plenty of local street parking if you’re willing to walk a bit. Cozy looking bungalow. Order first and food delivered to your table. I felt this place was way over hyped. blue velvet pancakes, was okay… Egg Benedict… Okay… Seriously, for the same price I rather go to blu jam café.

My review is solely for the baked goods, since that’s all I’ve ordered here thus far. But as far as they go, they’re as good as they get, and they’re definitely going to have me coming back to delve deeper into their menu. My favorite dessert here is their cupcake. I’ve had coworkers order a variety for my office before. The first time I tried one, I was in dessert heaven. I went on a mission to find out where they were from, and to a bit of surprise, discovered they were from Larchmont Bungalow. Sharing is caring? Whatever — I didn’t want to share my cupcake with coworkers. I wanted my own. So when my roommate’s birthday rolled around, I stopped in for some baked deliciousness. I got her a red velvet cake slice, and got an Oreo cupcake for myself. The leftover cake was devoured by my coworkers(I returned the favor) to extreme delight. I got the first slice from a brand new, fresh cake, so the quality was top notch. My cupcake was devoured in similar fashion. The cake itself is incredibly moist, crumbles to the touch, and melts in your mouth. The buttery cream frosting is sweet without being too overwhelming, and contains the proper ratio of frosting to cake. The consistency is fantastic as well, with a soft, creamy base, not dry and flaky like store-bought cupcakes usually are. And an Oreo cookie on top is a welcomed addition. I’m not really nearby to easily come in for brunch, but the bakery has made me a fan, so I may just have to go out of my way to experience their other offerings.

This place is easily 5 stars for me. Not only is it visually appealing, but it has the food to match! I’d say it’s one of my favorite places to have brunch at. Yes, parking sucks and yes, there is a long line to get in, but everything else makes up for it. After waiting in line you’re brought to the register and you pay for your meal before you dine. I personally like this process because if you come with a group you don’t have to worry about splitting checks at the end. After that, you find a table, which at times can be challenging, but you will be seated regardless. I ordered the Red and Blue Velvet Pancakes which is one of their more popular items on the menu. They are nothing like ordinary pancakes because they are prepared differently and are a little more dense. It reminded me more of a cupcake consistency, but either way it was really good and definitely fulfilled my cravings. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness wasn’t too overwhelming for me, but I understand how some people could not fully enjoy them. The full order is enough to share between two people, but they also have half orders! I also tried a little bit of the Steak Benedict which was tasty and well prepared. It was nice to have a contrast of a savory dish while eating the pancakes. Great experience overall. I’ll be back soon.

I seriously don’t know what happened here but my latest experience at Bungalow was not good at all. I ordered my meal to go and everything appeared decent upon first glance. Their Huevos Rancheros are pretty tasty so I was excited to dig in. I opened up one of my salsas and felt a hard material inside. I lifted up my fork and found some odd looking metal in my salsa. Instantly turned off. So with that being said, I probably won’t be back. Super unfortunate because I’ve gone on a several other occasions and never had an issue. The food is pretty decent. Overpriced, but decent. Can’t see them redeeming themselves after finding a random piece of metal in my food though. Do better, Bungalow!

Well this update has been a long time coming. For those who are thinking of dining here, I will write a complete review, rather than an update. Parking appears to be really bad, but surprisingly, it never takes me more than a second drive around to find a spot. The street metered parking spots may appear full and hopeless, but people usually drive in, get their stuff from whatever shop they are planning on patronizing, and then get out. Also, there is a public parking lot in the middle of the block. Take note though, this lot is not available on Sundays because of their Farmer’s Market. At Larchmont Bungalow… 1. you walk in the front 2. you line up to order at the counter at the front 3. they give you a number for your food 4. you pick up your drink from the counter to the side of the cashier 5. you find a seat inside or outside 6. they find you 7. enjoy your food Once again, the line to order wasn’t bad. There were only a couple of people in front of me. There were also plenty of available seats. Lobster Mac N Cheese: A MUSTHAVE Red Velvet Pancake: Super Duper Good. I think it was the sauce that made this dish. Hot Jasmine Tea: OK
