Great Pupusas, but if you want to be treated with kid gloves go elsewhere. The owner is rough around the edges and the place is CASH only. It can get packed during lunch, and since each Pupusa is made to order, be sure you’ve got some time to wait or call in and order ahead.

The best Salvadorian food outside of El Salvador. The pupusas de chicharon with cheese are out this world. The pineapple beverage with extra ice is really good on a hot Southern California day. My favorite is arroz con camarones. They give you so manny shrimps it’s unbelievable! I love it! The lady Doña France is amazing. She cares for everyone super friendly always making sure everyone leaves happy and full. This is the best salvi food I had in some time! I love this place I show up about 2⁄3 times a month!

Service is a bit slow. It was busy and there were others waiting to get their order taken. I had a meat plate my friend had a fish plate. I also ordered a pupusa on the side. The main dish plates were good. I wasn’t much of a fan of the pupusa. I’m really picky about pupusas given the fact that I’m salvadorean. I would be back … But not for pupusas

I called to place an order and the lady that picked up had a horrible attitude and was very rude and sarcastic when I asked her a question. I ignored her bad customer service but then at the end of the conversation and said it will be 15 minutes and hung up right after. Didn’t even say thank you or good bye. I’m all about costumer service I don’t care how«good» your food is. I called her back and told her to cancel my order. I will not give my $ to a restaurant that has no manners. No matter how busy you are you should be polite to people who are keeping you in business.

I find it funny that everyone that gives this place a 1 star rating is complaining about the slow or bad service. Its a little hole in the wall place run by 3 people not only up front but also in the kitchen. They do the best that they can and obviously serving /waiting on people is not their strong point. The food on the other hand, is done very very well. It takes time for hand made, and made to order food. You can’t rush perfection.

I came here after being told they served the best pupusas, a traditional Salvadorian dish. It’s a really small restaurant with limited seating. The place only has 3 employees who are busy in the kitchen making orders as soon as they are placed. Take my advice and call in your order before you get there. I dined in and the wait was long. I knew this from the beginning but it was too long if you ask me. Like I said before there are only 3 employees and no servers. You order at the kitchen and pick up your food when it’s done. The pupusas were good. Fresh of the grill top and piping hot. You add your own traditional condiments which include coleslaw and a spicy tomato sauce. The pupusas weren’t greasy whatsoever which is typical of this dish, so you can eat 3 like myself and not feel stuffed. I got the mixed version which combines cheese, beans, and pork skin. So good! The food was great but I felt the service was too slow but when it comes to good home cooking, it’s hard to rush it so I will give them a pass.

Even if you think the staff is rude(which they weren’t), these are the best pupusas I’ve ever had. I called ahead, they were ready when I got there 15 minutes later. They were delicious!

Called this place three times to place a phone order, each time they pick up and hung up the phone. I guess they were too busy in the restaurant to accept phone orders, so they just hang up. So rude! On to the next pupusa place.

Lady that helped me was rude to me too. I’m not el salvadorian nor do I speak Spanish or of latin decent… but I wanted some friends to taste Papusa’s. never been here so I assumed they had chicken but they didn’t and instantly she was like ‘read the board’ and walked away… lol. She wasnt helpful at all… maybe she doesn’t care for return customers because I’m waiting for my order now, and even if they taste really good I probably won’t be back just because of the service and there will always be other places with good papusas to me since I can’t tell the difference maybe lol. i just had to go to the closest place that sold papusas! Ok…just paid for my food and then she got nice! Go figure. so I raised the stars up. Because it does taste good!

I’ve always have had people bring me food from this restaurant. The pupusas alone are enough to keep me coming back. I need to actually eat at this place, because I image the hot fresh food will be even better than what I had. What’s also cool is this place made me a dozen fresh handmade tortillas which I used at home. They were so good and perfect add on to the food I cook.

By far the greatest pupusas I’ve had in a long time. Ive been looking for an authentic Salvadoran restaurant and I’m so happy I found it. Reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. The staff was sooo sweet and made us feel like we where family. Service was really quick too! My family and I will definitely be coming back

Most delicious pupusas in canoga park and the San Fernando valley! I’ve been coming here for over 14 years. and the pupusas just get better and better! i love the queso con loroco, and revueltas con chicharon and well all of them. Their salsa and curtido are amazing, crunchy and perfect when paired over any of the pupusas. also prices are awesome!

Before I go into my review, I want to say that the pupusas were delicious. Okay, so first of all, the lady I placed my order with was kind of rude. Ordered only 2 pupusas and it took them over a half hour to bring them out to me. I’m pretty sure they forgot I was there even though I had been sitting in the dining area for quite some time. Didn’t offer any water or ask if I wanted to order anything to drink. They served 2 different groups who I’m 99% positive came in after me. Like I mentioned, pupusas were delicious, but still not coming back, which makes me sad because I was so excited to try this place because I thought it definitely was about to become my new pupusa place. I miss El Zocalo in South San Francisco.

Best salvi food in the valley not to mention best service. Their food reminds me of my mother in laws cooking and it’s cheap too. It is a cash only place but worth going there if you want good service and better food!

I came across this place while leaving the bar next door last night. I told the frien I was w/«I haven’t had pupusas in forever» because I don’t really know where to get them. We came back this afternoon and I’m glad we did! The pupusas were delicious!!! The only reason I didn’t give it a 5th star? No air conditioning!!! I wouldn’t want to dine in again in the middle of the afternoon in the summer but I will definitely be back sometime in the evening when it’s cooler out.
