I like the atmosphere. Dark, comfortable uncrowded. Possibly the best chile relleno I’ve ever had was included in my mexican combo plate today. The beans & rice are excellent, as are the tortilla chips, salsa.(I wrote a more detailed review before but Unilocal lost it.) I rate La Fuente no 3 in Eagle Rock very highly, but this one may be even better! Salud!

Food is always so damn good. I’ve seen so many bad reviews don’t understand why. The foods fresh and the service is nice as well. My dad loves the fried fish its a ridiculously huge fish for only $ 11.95. I got the Chilaquiles mmm mmm mmm that’s all i can say and only $ 8.50 !!! I devoured it all. My mom had the ham and eggs she loved it and that was only $ 8.50 as well. We go once a week after my therapy we look forward to it great food and great environment!!!

Sadly, the quality of good isn’t as good as it was a few years ago. I hope they revisit their food choices. Come back!

I keep coming here because the menudo is really good. My wife and I get a large order and that is plenty for the two of us. They give chips and all the trimmings that add to the dish. I order ahead and it is always ready by the time I arrive. The service is great and I highly recommend this place.

Used to love this place until I ordered a sandwich with cheese. I took a bite and found that the cooks had not even unwrapped the plastic from the cheese! Not only was this gross, it was also a potential choking hazard. I’ve not been back ever since and I don’t plan to.

Was my favorite restaurant until I saw them put my unfinished salsa that we left halfway in the fridge for the next customer.

**NOTHINGSPECIALMEXICANFOOD** First time in Highland Park. Wanted Mexican food. PARKING ======== Street, metered(free on Sundays) AMBIANCE ========= Casual with vinyl red seating booths, capacity up to 49 people inside the restaurant. I liked it, comfortable and good natural lighting in the day time. ORDERED ========= **HOUSESPECIAL — SHREDDEDBEEF — $ 10.95 Boiled and shredded beef with rice, beans, and soup. The soup was actually really good with the meatball. Light and fragrant. I should have just ordered a bowl of that. The rest was mediocre. Tasted like canned beans and plain rice. Beef dish was dry and I had to spice it up with the provided salsa. RATING: 3⁄5 I liked their chips and salsa. Can’t beat spicy salsa. RATING: 4⁄5 BEVERAGES =========== **HORCHATA — $ 2.95 A bit pricey for rice water with cinnamon, but it was good. RATING: 3⁄5 SERVICE ======== Friendly and fast. This restaurant was a recommendation from a local; obviously we don’t have the same taste in Mexican food. NOTE: They accept credit cards! OVERALL ========= I’d recommend if you’re not picky. Get the soup. But nothing extraordinary about this place.

I like coming her for their menudo on the weekends. I get my nails done at Tina Nails and its conveniently across the street. Their chips and salsa is good too. Bf had the steak carne asada burrito. He really enjoyed it. The fried mojarra fish is good too. Comes with rice beans and tortillas. What attracts me is the corona beer sign lol

Worst service ever. Food bland and reheated tasted like leftovers from the day before. The only good this I ate here was the taco cause it was fried and had taste.

I only have been here a few times, and it’s only been to get a bean and cheese burrito and some chips and salsa on my walk home, but dang it if it isn’t one of the best I’ve ever had. You might ask, how do you screw up a bean and cheese burrito? Well… you can, and I“ve had them. They also make a great guacamole. One of these day I’ll have a sit down and explore the menu. The waiter guy is always very nice, as is all the staff that I“ve encountered. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Decided to try this place based on the reviews and the fact that the La Fuente on Colorado is a known decent place to eat. This La Fuente(#6 I think is how they bill it) was not so good. The place was empty and the food was mediocre. Overall, the experience was sad and not what I had wanted at all. And BTW, this place DOESNOT have a full bar! :(

I had a friend recommend this place when I lived in the area and probably ate at this restaurant a handful of times. Unfortunately my last visit was my last because I had the pleasure of watching the owner. manager chase a rat across the dining room. :(

I’ve been coming here since I was young and all I can say about this place is that it is authentic Mexican food at a decent price. My favorite dish has to be the menudo because it wakes you up after the Saturday night hangover. They also have complimentary chips and salsa, which are bomb. Overall, I gotta say that if u want bomb Mexican food this the place.

This place sucks. The food is terrible. It is ALWAYS empty!(Never a good sign) The owner is in a fog. The place is dirty. Whoever eats Mexican food here in Highland Park is either lazy or doesn’t understand mexican food. There are ten better mexican restaurants with ten blocks!

Despite the claims, there is no full bar, unless you consider a «wine margarita» to be your idea of full. Ugh. Also, the cheese enchilada’s tortilla had a geological time stamp on it. Double ugh. But worst of all, they started turning the lights off at 8:45 pm despite the fact that my friend was still mid-burrito. Hullo?! Hospitality, much? I live here and am always looking for solid Mexican. This is not it. Avoid.

The best mixta fajita plate in Los Angeles. Hands down. Very friendly family owned restaurant. I eat here at least once a week for lunch.

When my Mexican food radar sounds in the evening and I realize that La Abeja is long closed and I need something a tad bit more substantial than the taco trucks that line N. Figueroa, I head over to La Fuente and sup on reliable fajitas, huevos rancheros, hueveos mexicanas, chorizo and egg breakfasts, served anytime. It was recommended to us by a long-time Mt. Washington dweller and he knows his foodstuffs. Try it!
