Tony has been helping us find a new location for our small business, and although the market is very competitive, and its taken us 4 months of straight searching, Tony has stuck by us and helped us every step of the way. Not only does he find new properties that come on market, but he discusses with brokers/​landlords for touring the building, is present during said tours, and is very helpful and professional in giving us advise on where to look next.

Tony wasted a lot of my time before revealing that, despite advertising himself as being able to perform an appraisal, he is no longer a registered appraiser. I needed a retrospective appraisal on a multi-​family for tax purposes and, after I looked up his license and saw that he is a broker now, not an appraiser, he emphasized that his ‘real estate evaluation’ is a cheap alternative to getting a real appraisal and would satisfy the IRS. I can’t say whether he’s right about that, but I can say that he refused to give me a ballpark of what I was looking at – which is what I needed first, to know whether it was worth doing at all. A realtor did sent me some historical comps to get that ballpark, which suggested that I didn’t need the retro appraisal after all, and Tony had no intelligible response. Basically, I think he talks fast, feeds you a line of bullshit, and if you don’t bite (i.e. make it clear you’re immediately sending a check), hangs up the phone (which is what he did when I questioned him).
