Chile Verde embaradas with chicharrones !!! Try to get three before 12 to avoid traffic. Good spot for a nice quiet lunch. Staff are all very friendly :)

This palace is exceptionally good! Known for their pork embarradas, burritos, and menudo! Smell great… homemade tortillas! Enough said… awesome décor and one of a kind experience… You got the wall of clocks, the wall of random paintings and frames, and the religious/beer wall… love it! Never change!

To keep it short, food sucked and it had an unpleasant smell in the restaurant. I love Mexican food and have been to many all around LA county, didn’t like this one.

A gem. Delicious Michoacan style dishes. The pork and hand made tortillas are to die for.

I don’t know who I love more right now: Unilocal or La Aztecs. If Unilocal did not exist, I would have never found this place and my life would have been forever short changed. I feel like I was transplanted right into a small town in mexico and the town grandma is cooking for me personally. Inside of this place is awesome. Enter through the sliding entrance door and little Mexico opens up. Embarrada is certainly one way to go, but I’m sure everything is authentic and amazing. Fresh homemade real salsa the way God intended. And to boot, there is an A in the window from the health inspection and believe me, I would STILL eat here even if I saw cocaroaches floating around(I did not see any to be clear). Please come here.

oh my word!!! i had to write a review on this place. today was the first time i ate here. i’ve been driving by this restaurant everyday to work for the last 3 years and never knew it existed. my co worker recommended this location and i am so glad he did. its walking distance from our job so parking wasn’t an issue. the price is reasonable, food was made quickly and the service is good. today we ordered embarrada de chicharron it was rrrrrrrrrrricooo!!. let me tell you, this place gets a 10 for the authenticity of the food. from the first bite and smell, it tasted like grandmas cooking!!! nothing like food to take you down memory lane. i am now a fan and loyal customer of this great place!

One of the few positives of the City of Glendale, even though this is in Atwater/Los Angeles, was the introduction to this spot. It’s the only place I’ve ever seen, that has a dish called a Embaradda. It’s a thick tortilla smeared with beans and chicharron, deep fried stye chicharron with meat still attached to it. Add the red sauce, and some sharp cheddar and I’m in love. I’ll drive all the way from La Puente for one of these. I do make it a habit of calling it in though. Because they have a tendency to run out, and once they’re out of food, they shut down for the day. And since they open pretty early, and the city workers are pretty close, sometimes it’s a good bet that they’ll be closed by 1 or 2.

This is one of my favorite places for real authentic Mexican food. The embarradas are amazing. Food is all made in the kitchens fresh! Do not expect a fancy place here just real good food!

This is place is the closest thing you get to authentic mexican food in the area. They are best known for they’re embaradas. The décor isn’t great and it kinda looks like they just put out whatever they had and just continues adding to it, but clean. This place is cash only so go prepared. They also only serve Food until they run out which is usually around 2:00pm, so go early. They open at 6:00am. The best item are the embaradas de chicharon and chile rojo.

This is the ultimate hard to find hole in the wall. The deco inside looks like your mexican cousins back yard patio the day after a big party. Beer cans stacked floor to ceiling and mis matched furniture. The lady behind the counter is all business, taking orders, collecting cash, then off to the back to prep orders. They are best known for embaradas. Today i ordered one regular(pork chile verde) and one chicharron w red chile on the side. The to go packaging is ghetto as hell: styro plate with paper on top and a stapler to seal it up. But that doesnt matter. The first thing you notice when you open this thing is the corny corn scent of that giant handmade tortilla. Then inside refried beans and meat. Chile verde is good, but the chicharron is awesome! Perfect combo with the chewy tortilla, beans, crunchy chicharron and red chile(just wish that was hotter). Very affordable, very filling/satisfying, very authentic. I would give 5 stars if chile was HOTTER. Really good… Go check it out!

I came to this place as a breakfast date with a girlfriend of mine. It was beyond belief. This place is truly authentic. We had a bowl of menudo, and an embarrada with chicharron. I just about died. It was so good, I’ve since returned twice. I wish they were open for dinner. This place gets the seal of approval from an actual Mexican.

Love this place. Family has been coming here for over 35 years & in the entire time I’ve been here I’ve never see the décor change. Their food is amazing(albeit not very healthy). And check out their collection of clocks above & around the entryway wall. Street parking can be difficult on a busy weekend morning. ***CASHONLY!!!***

Mom&Pop shop, sweet lil place. Family owned. We got to chat with la Dueña, awesome lady. Just enjoyed some taquitos and refried beans. And we also had an order of their Embarrada’s. Food was great! Didn’t give them 5stars cuz my beans were a bit cold. But I’m still coming back! :)

The portions are big. I order their famous embarrada de chicharron with the green salsa but I was more disappointed than impressed. The food lacked flavor but the friendly staff and quick service was the only bright spot, by the way parking is horrible

This isnt ur typical mexican restaurant. There are no tacos, quesadillas or tortas. The menu is very small & its open no later than 2pm. Its very small & it doesnt have its own parking. But this restaurant has been there for 65+ years. & theres a reason for that. The food they do have is 10000000000% authentic mexican food. Everything is made from scratch, even the tortillas(which are huge btw). The menudo is to die for. It ussually finishes around 10am, so if u wana get some of the bombest menudo ull ever have GETTHEREEARLY. The same family has owned this place since it opened so most people that go already the owners. I love this place & i love the food. If u love spicy authentic mexican salsa u will love it too. Ps Everything is pork(besides the menudo) so if u dont like pork meat i dont recomment.
