This place has terrible customer service. There are many great places to go and get some real Central American food and this is not one of them. The food here is reheated. The plantains I had were mushy and greasy, I got pretty sick of smelling the roach and rat stench. I am an Orkin pest control agent and you best believe that I went straight to the health department to let them know. I would have given them several violations as it was. Dirty floors, cracks in the walls for pests and the tables, floors are not clean.

Awful price, space is very limited(overcrowded) sometimes you need to share tables with people you don’t know. Bad attitude, they scream to my mother in law once.

Central American? Come here. You can eat here for weeks and not have the same thing. They do not speak english but i had plenty of people(customers) willing to help me order. Funny thing the only person who knows english is the very old nice lady with white hair. Her english is great! and she is latina. The younger employees could not help me. Just point. You both can figure it out. The Food is Really Good.

I love Adelita!!! The Salvadoran tamales and roasted chicken are my favorites. I love the casamiento(Salvadoran beans and rice), black beans, and plantain chips too. They also have yummy aguas frescas and tamales from Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico. The quality of service depends on who serves you, but I’ve never had an issue here. Some of the ladies are less patient than others in explaining what things are but the delicious food is worth any shade I’ve encountered here.

I came from Seattle, since this is the only place that I could find nicatamales. I come here all the time I’m in town. I’m treated badly every time I have come which is at least 5 times now, yet I still come because I like the tamales. it shocks me to see how rude the women are to me. I am a Hispanic, but they must think I’m white. I have blonde hair and green eyes, and they talk so much about the customers that it’s embarrassing… but the last time I got my nacatamal there my tooth broke due to a bone in the tamal. As always the women treated me very rudely. wouldn’t wait on me and overcharged me ! and didn’t even give my proper change back… I must say I literally hate this place and I will not return… I hope I can find another place in Los Angeles that makes nacatamales, and treats their people with dignity and respect… hopefully they at least look happy that they have customers… the place is very dirty and no rest rooms for the customers. and yes there are roaches on the tables I see them.

Unilocalers Unite! Let’s keep track of all the foods you’ve gotten here and the prices, maybe then there’ll be some price justice for future customers of La Adelita? Very torn about this place. On the one hand, the food is delicious — My coworkers introduced me to this place when they bought it for lunch. As a result, I came here today, on a Saturday afternoon, to get the chicken(curry?) and the beef(palito — I think is what it was called). While the food was scrumptious, I can’t enjoy it to its maximum since I felt discriminated against. Service here definitely varies by individual and if you speak a little Spanish, it’ll go a long way. It also seems like they treat old customers better than new ones — but so much so that they would have such drastic price differences? Maybe. I agree wholeheartedly with Bryant A. — it’s very possible they charge you miscellaneously –when my coworkers came here and bought 3 combos with $ 21(approximately), today, I got two combos and paid $ 20.49. Needless to say, not happy at all, what happened? However, taking into consideration of lunch specials during the week and weekend rates, I will need to do more research in going back and buying the same dishes at La Adelita to see if there is such prejudice. Regardless, being a first timer to a Nicaraguan establishment, I am/was still not pleased. Yes, I spoke broken Spanish to the ladies behind the counter, and I was a little slower with my order — but does that warrant more charges? I thought I had tried my best, but clearly, discrimination is real and maybe I haven’t tried hard enough. So I decided to go to the bakery section. You know, to check out what foods they had. When I had asked the girl behind the counter how much the cakes were. Then here came the responses that confirmed discriminatory practices, girl: cuanta questan? the chef: «veinte dos”(which means 22 btw) girl then says to me: «thirty two».(are you kidding, you add $ 10 more for translation?) I said: «treinta dos?”(yes, I know my numbers in Spanish, jerk). Girl:(walking towards me) «wait, show me which one» I proceeded to have her come near me and pointed to a random cake. Girl: veinte dos($ 22). Me: So $ 22. Okay. Goodbye. Seriously, I don’t expect politeness or niceties, but I do expect common courtesy and decency in an establishment. However, although I felt discriminated against, this does not hinder my desire to go back. Why? you ask. Well, let’s just say for the good of human kind. I believe that with time, they’ll see that this kind of practice will not hold and perhaps they’ll change their ways. Hopefully.

It’s ok food — not very consistent. Be cautious when they are charging you, i’ve caught it 3 times where i’m being charged for something i did NOT order or even have. Otherwise great! (Parking is bad)

For starters, this dining establishment is absolutely fire. Not only was the food fresh, warm, and cheap; but the taste and presentation was seriously chronic. When I walked in(with my boys), we were pretty squad deep, and couldn’t exactly vibe our orders to the women behind the counter. However, when the woman whom I might describe as the most adorable and respectable elder woman I have ever seen rolled out and practically ordered our food for us, I was blown away. Her hospitality was almost inspiring. I felt as though she welcomed me into her home and kept me warm, with the dankest Central American cuisine I’ve ever had. If you ever visit this paradise, find this woman and ask her for the«tacos». She’ll know what you mean.

I came to «La Adelita Food» restaurant since«La 27» close by was closed on Tuesdays… Bought two very-expensive nacatamales(nicaraguan tamales) and didn’t eat a bit of it since I dumped in the trash in front of them. The bakery is a different theme, since the Nicaraguan Picos, and Perrereques(corn bread) are better than what you normally get in Nicaragua.

This pertains to the bakery side only, as I have never tried the food here. I don’t like that the breads have no prices on them. As they ring you up, they input the prices on the register. Every piece of bread has a different price. I wonder if the prices change from customer to customer. If it looks like u have money? Will it cost more? Hmmm? They do not give u an itemized receipt. I came here for the Salvadorean quesadillas. They were so dry and burnt from the edges. Some of the other breads were good, but not for the price. I spent $ 19 on 10 pieces of bread! Never coming here again!

As a fellow Nicaragüence, I was very excited to have some Nicaragüence food for dinner. But my trip to La Adelita was not to my delight. For one, bad customer service, and two, very expensive. I got fried plantains for $ 7.50 and they still tried to charge me $ 1 extra for small cup of curtido. I ordered a fried cheese and the employee was hesitant about making it for me. As if she didn’t want to prepare it. Nonetheless, the greasy piece if cheese cost me $ 5. Total spent was little less than $ 13.00 for a plate or gallo pinto, cheese and tajadas verdes(no protein). Very disappointed. I would have gone to La 27 down the street, but they close on Tuesdays. This is the first and last time I come here.

It’s an ok place, the cheesecake is the bomb, but the cashiers need to make sure to listen to the customer, I wanted to try two different cheesecakes and she gave me both of the same one, baked goods are hard after 3pm, I wish there was more caramel on the flan, and off to the food side, same note please listen, and make a connection with the customer, the cashier asked me in passing three times if I wanted tortillas or something else, every time I answered tortillas she never caught it until another cashier added them into the bag. Fresh Fried Cheese, mmm, delicious! The carne asada was good, I wish the cut was just a little bit thinner, but still great! Only getting three because I know staff can improve, because that cheese… fried cheese, got me!

1.) The service is really dissapointing the fact that these women can’t even smile or atleast pretend to love what they do sucks! 2.) They have a large selection of Nicaraguense food and other central american plates. I love the fact that they have Nicaraguense drinks as well and fried cheese which is one of my favorites. 3.) The parking was obviously made for midgets in midgets vechicles. Couple of drunks hanging out around the parking lot(really not the best area) Security is more concerned with looking at tail and trying to be wanna be cops then to make sure traffic is properly flowing in their small parking lot. 4.) Way over priced! Sorry but so not willing to pay for crap service and from a 1 – 10 scale of food it’s about a 7… not worth it. No restrooms * They do take credit/debit cards

Great Idea to call in your order for the holidays so that you don’t have the long waits. Ready with my Nacatamales and a traditional Christmas morning breakfast. Viva Nicaragua

Horrible customer service, i stood there for 10minutes and the ladies would pass by and pretend i wasn’t there they were too busy gossiping and when i finally asked if anybodybody can help me i get a «well what do you want» if i didn’t want the gallo pinto and queso frito so bad i would have left, oh and the tajadas fritas taste horrible like they had been there for weeks all like ruber. I dont know which one is worse la 27 or this place.

Im reviewing this place based on the bakery section which offers a huge variety of sweet bread along side cakes, parfaits, fruit tarts, and so on. Always seems to be full as it attracts a lot of guests. The only downside is parking.

Very good Nicaraguan dishes… Served in buffet style setting… Enjoy home style food. They also have a number of soups. The tables were a little dirty. The service was excellent and the ladies were very nice. Right next door is a delicious bakery…

Great little place for Nicaraguan food. I wish it was more exclusive to Nica food, there is Mexican and Salvadorian and a little bit of all thrown in the mix but all is good. I wish there was more PICOS(Nicaraguan pastry) as they seem to run out often. Not a short drive for me coming from San Diego but when i am in LA this is a must.
