We were craving Japanese food and ended up popping into this cute little mom and pop joint which was soooo delicious! The korean lady who probably owns the place is super energetic and they give huge portions and all you can eat veggies!!! I ordered the pork korean BBQ and it was sooo fresh and delicious!!!

So let me start this with I’ve loved this places everytime I’ve come with my fiancé and they’ve have always been very nice and sweet professional serves but today I was greeted by a rude serve who when was asked for a menu pointed at the little appetizers menu with ten or so items on it in a rude tone as tho she wished not to be bothered I was about to say we should go but my girl loves this places she has many great memories tied to it so we order 20 almost 30 minutes go by a young Asian American comes in asks for a menu no less the three seconds later does she have one and is reading the items off to him he’s not blind he and his girlfriend received their food five minutes after they ordered where we still waited ten more lovely minutes

This was my lunch choice for today, a place I had been a couple of times before. Once with my better half for lunch, and also treated here by a group of lady coworkers for my birthday. Both occasions were some years ago, and I enjoyed the food immensely both visits. But unfortunately today was different. My order of BBQ Beef, with Rice, Kimchi, Salad and other sides was just ok. For starters they bring you a bowl of Miso Soup, which was actually quite tasty. The beef came out steaming hot and was very good, probably more meat then necessary. I ordered it medium spicy; but there wasn’t a whole lot of kick to it. I always take each portion of meat on my fork and plunge it into the bowl of rice before eating it. The salad was also quite good. The other sides including the kimchi? Kind of weak in flavor and like at least one other reviewer, I would have liked a bit of potato salad on the side as well. I did finish off the entire platter though; I didn’t say I wasn’t hungry! How time can seem to change the quality of certain eateries… or maybe it’s our palates?

I’ve been here a couple if times, I have to say the food is always fresh, portions are very generous, and prices are fair, but bring an appetite along to this one! The entire restaurant/restroom is clean. The woman who seats/serves you seems happy towards her customers, and wont rush you to order-in case you take a while. I recommend trying their grilled salmon, it was huge! You get side dishes as well to share with someone. I also like the row of seats to your left as you walk in, it feels private, kinda small –intimate, yet relaxed, and casual atmosphere all around. Great for a get away lunch or dinner. Both are awesome, and you wont leave hungry!

While contemplating on which restaurant to go to we decided to come here. Not only because the menu seemed appealing but because the gentleman at the door seemed very friendly and welcoming so that made it easier to decide since we were contemplating on several food locations in that area. After being seated we were told who our waitress was going to be and after she tended to her existing tables she came over to our table. She seemed very rude, short and in a hurry. After she took our order she didn’t even ask us if we wanted anything to drink so before she left we asked her if we could have some water. When the food came, she just hurried up and dropped the food off at the table and left. She didn’t even bother asking us if we needed anything else, and she failed to bring out the side of rice that our meal came with and our water. Meanwhile she seemed very tentative to the table next to us, she stopped by them twice and even refilled their water. We had to ask another waitress for our water and then our waitress(oh by the way her name is Linda) dropped off our water with such attitude as if we were inconveniencing her. I have never had such rude and poor customer service at a restaurant until this day. Linda needs to be trained on the importance of customer service. In a competitive world with so many restaurant choices and options it’s sad that you would be subjected to lose customers due to your staffs poor customer service. The man at the door was great but Linda was terrible. I was disappointed because although the food was good I wouldn’t wanna return to an establishment that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, so needless to say I won’t be returning here again. Next time I’m in the area I’ll just go to another restaurant.

Came here with a friend recently… Business was slow, & the service was mediocre at best. We ordered the BBQ Chicken & Beef Bibimbap. The flavor was OK. The feeling in my stomach an hour later was not OK. I would not recommend this place, nor would I go back.

Had the lunch special with Galbi(short ribs) and teriyaki chicken. Good portions, good cabbage kimchi and the food was very good, especially the chicken. Nice service!

Excellent alternative place to eat in Little Tokyo if your favorite joint takes too long to get in. It’s a couple doors down from Shabu Shabu House. Very good K-BBQ on a sizzling iron platter(no cooking required), my favorite is the squid but chicken is very tasty also. Yes you’ll get the same banchan side dishes like you would at a regular k-bbq joint. Very courteous service. I am surprised other Unilocalers complained about the rude staff. Language/cultural barrier? As always, my advice when you go to a proven Asian joint is eat the food and have *zero* expectation for good service, then you will not be disappointed.

They seem busy but they really aren’t, they are just short staffed. Not the best experience and wouldn’t recommend and come again. Too expensive and food was mediocre. Service was horrible and facility needs a good cleaning. I was unhappy from the jump :-/

Pretty mediocre. Actually quite forgettable. Food was just ok, I would not recommend any sushi rolls at all. Nice service, but a little pricey for what you get for the dinner menu.

The husband and wife owners always make us feel right at home and the food is delicious. We moved away but we came back to eat and it’s still consistent and great. Good job!

I love this place! I been coming here for 10 years always had a good time. Drinking sapporo while eating BBQ. The best, always hot, fresh and very good. Also, the staff is fast, not to friendly, but kind. I think there just on the move. I don’t mind.

I miss this place and hope to visit here again soon. When my Boo and I used to work days together, we would have our late lunch date here. We’d order the beef and chicken teriyaki sizzling plates. There’s always so much food and side dishes. My favorite side dish is that sweet and savory potato. I could just have a big bowl of that and I’m good. I like their bowl of soup and fluffy white rice. Even that is a meal in itself. I have to say that I’ve injured my knee a few times from the burner parts that stick out below the table. It’s part clumsiness and partly the table’s design as I’ve heard other customers complain about it. You park at the structure and they validate for an hour. Since it’s located in Little Tokyo you can walk around and check out the many shops in the area.

I just ordered the spicy chicken plate and it was delicious. Got to love the kimchi and spinach sides. It was cold out so the little vegetable soup warmed me up nicely. We ordered two plates and it came out to 39 bucks. Most definitely feeling that but cheap food doesn’t keep me coming back it has to be good and I’ve been coming here for years. Every time I come to The Japanese village mall I think to myself I need to come here more. Goodtimes

My friend and I decided to eat at this restaurant only because we were starving and needed to make a quick decision. Our plans to eat at another restaurant fell through, we had a time limit, and we were starving. The place is quite small, old, and on such a hot summer day, the A/C wasn’t functioning well, so we were sweating through our meal. However, the food was O.K./decent and the service was very quick. We just ordered 1 plate of BBQ beef short ribs($ 15.95), avocado and cucumber cut roll($ 6.95), & an order of gyoza(huge 6 pieces)($ 6.95). Small ban chan side dishes included: cooked spinach, bean sprouts, & kimchi. I liked that the menu offers a nice variety of korean bbq dishes and sushi rolls, but this place was honestly nothing special.

The lady here was super rude. We ordered and she came and threw the plates on the table. She didn’t even explain which plate had what(we all ordered sushi). Then when we asked for the check she just threw it like she did with the plates. She didn’t look at us once. On our way out, I figured I would spare the rest if she at least said bye to us. She didn’t. She just looked at us and turned around. We also noticed that her and the man had a little altercation in the hallway; it caught everyone’s attention. Please don’t take your anger out on your customers. It’s not like if we were causing a comotion or giving you a hard time. Food was good, which is why I give it 2 stars.

Quality of the food was really terrible… They had recommended the chicken but it wasn’t necessarily dark or white, just some strange gray combination of the two. None of the sides were any better. With tax and tip it was $ 16. Ouch. Won’t make that mistake again. Not at all recommended.

I’d been dying for some sushi the entire cross country trip with my best friend. She promised we(read: me) could find a sushi place when we got into LA. In hindsight, this wasn’t an ideal place for just sushi. Oh, they have sushi, but not as many rolls as a regular sushi place. In its defense, it doesn’t tout itself as a sushi bar so I can’t complain. Ordered a spicy tuna roll and chicken teriyaki. The roll had 8 pieces and tasted fresh. The chicken was huge and came with an assortment of veggies, kimchi, and a huge bowl of white rice. I was stuffed! Food is delicious here. Large portions and fast service.

Located to the left of Shabu Shabu House. They offer lunch specials. I opted for the Korean BBQ kalbi. Comes with a side of rice, and a huge selection of ban chan, such as kimchi, bean sprouts, spinach, and more. You get a lot of bang for your buck. I also ordered a side of spicy tuna cut roll. That was pretty good. It was pretty fresh. The place is a bit cozy. The service was friendly. Parking — there are a lot of private lots that charge an average of $ 5.
