King Taco on 3rd Street is the best one of all. I’ve tried them in different locations and the King Taco on 3rd is the best one. Pretty much all their food is delicious! They have the new chicharron tacos and they are VERYGOOD. I will for sure return when in SoCal.

Oh boy, oh me oh my, what’s going on with this particular King Taco location? This use to be the second location I frequently go to the most. Now the quality is going downhill. I’m sorry… but they’ve started to skimp out on the meat. I understand that it’s part of inflation and higher overhead costs, but don’t lesson the quality to save a dime! Feel free to raise the prices a little if needed, and believe me… the customers will still be happier when the quality is still there. Don’t get me wrong, I still love to eat at King Taco. But you won’t be King anymore if this continues. They still make delicious food. I love their tacos and burritos. Even their nachos! It’s always been good to my taste buds. The flavor is there, the salsa is delicious, and the service however is a hit or miss… depending on the person taking the order. Sometimes I feel everything is just slapped together, as in you got your food now, so leave. Most of the time the food is delicious… as in the person who prepares it will make a difference. Anyhow, enough of my ranting. I’ll still go to King Taco, but will probably go to A different location for the time being. Personally the El Monte location probably the best, followed by the Pico Rivera one. I won’t spill the beans on the locations worst than East LA. But please do improve on the quality. Thanks. Two stars for now… until the next time.

Will I drive 6 hours to come eat here? absolutely. By far the best place to eat tacos in LA. The meat here is so juicy and has a lime hint flavor to it. Their burritos and tacos are a must. Staff is always friendly and place is clean. Makes one feel comfortable eating here. Their salsa(red one) is incomparable to any other it’s one of a kind with great flavor.

The carne asada comes out of a bag. The chicken for the tacos is super bland. Staff at the window don’t know info if you ask questions. When you ask what kind of cheese they use in a dish they respond«yellow cheese» or «white cheese». Okie-dokie! Also, it’s LOUD. I feel this whole review SHOULDBEINALLCAPS because when when they call your number over the microphone, the actually SHOUTITIN to the __microphone__, to you know several **speakers**…ai yai yai! My kids and I started laughing about it and sorta made a Saturday Night Live skit out of it for ourselves, so that was sorta fun and made a kitsch memory for us. but we ain’t going back honey! I say«hasta la vista», or rather«HASTALAVISTA!!!»

The red salsa is what keeps me coming back for more. At other locations they sell a cup of the salsa for little under $ 3. I put that on any homemade dish and, no kidding, it tastes just like«king taco.» It’s just that salsa!(That’s why the restaurant/fast food chain is so anal about rationing cups of salsa per tacos, sopes, burritos, etc). So I give this location 3 stars for their salsa. The other 2 stars they’ll deserve when they improve their customer service. They can’t seem to get my orders right. Example of my last visit: Losing my order receipt and my order # not being called on until 20 minutes later as my party grows impatient I inquire about my order only to hear«the receipt must have fallen and someone swept it away.» Whew! Run-on sentence, yes I was very upset. I kindly asked for a refund and neither the manager or cashier apologized. This kind of incident is enough to make any customer runaway. But I don’t hold grudges, kudos to their red salsa.

The nachos were so-so, the cheese and jalapeño tamale was not very good, but the location and staff were good to go. The nachos come with orangey-gooey«cheese» sauce instead of real melted cheese. They were a little better than movie or baseball game nachos. The tamale was dry and dense, and the small amount of melted cheese in the middle didn’t make it any less drab.

Their rice is not that good. I hate when mexican spots have carrots and peas in their rice. The line was ridiculously long. They don’t have limes and that is a big no no. The only good thing they have there are their tortas…

Came here because my bus stopped across the street at the parking lot, only to find that it was closed. I couldn’t find any signs anywhere about why it was closed or for how long and ironically it was supposed to be open 24 hours today! They definitely should have at least have some sort of notice somewhere about being closed!

First time at King Taco today. I’ve heard good things about this place so I decided to try it. I tried the carne asade tacos, carne asade burrito and a tamale. All very good! I have eaten at many tacos spots, its hit or miss typically. King Taco’s meat is exceptional. It is very juicy, the onions are fresh and the tortillas are soft and well prepared. The salsa verde was surprisingly spicy, whew! Im used to homemade tamales, but I was pleasantly suprised by how tasty they were here. Costs less than $ 2 for a decent sized tamale. Great deal. This was a little spicy as well due to the salsa verde, still very tasty! The cons: * This place isn’t the cleanest restaurant in town. The atmosphere is what you woud expect from a taco place. * I asked to change two of my tacos to al pastor and it seemed to confuse everyone. The staff is a little unorganized in the back. Do yourself a favor and keep it as simple as possible to avoid confusion, they seem rushed back there. ** Tip — The tacos are very small, if you are hungry I would order at least 4 to yourself. This will be enough. The bottom line — People come here for the tasty food, and you will get exactly that. Aaron J Singer Business Banking Greater Los Angeles

The OG King Taco. This location holds many great memories for me. Back in the day it was 24 hours everyday and CASHONLY. NOTANYMORE! 24HRS only Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They now accept AMEX, VISA and Mastercard. Gone are the orange colored chairs and replaced with much nicer red chairs with the King Taco logo. The food is good, but knocking off two stars because the service was very slow at Ventana 1(Window 1) The cashier spent 15 minutes taking one order from a group of 6. Also the sope hardly had any cheese on it. The worker refused to add a little more cheese. I would suggest you ride the Metro Gold Line here to the Maravilla station and avoid driving. There are L.A. County Sheriff Dept patrols all over and they will stop you for any reason. Be aware of this.

This is my go to spot after a night of drinking with friends in LA. They are open 24⁄7 on weekends so you don’t have to worry about them being closed. They’re carne asada is amazing. I love it in all forms… tacos, burrito, sopes, nachos… you name it.

Do I dare call it world famous? Well it seems everyone knows about King Taco. No matter what location you are at the lines will be long. This location is open 24 hours which is always a super plus in my book. Well yes, they have very good tacos and normally I don’t get other things from places that have their specialty in the name. Like King Taco, you should get TACOS, not anything else… but here they have really good rotisserie chicken. So at times I will order it, as well as sopes and burritos. The food is tasty. I like that they have a variety of meats including lengua and cabeza. I’ve had cabeza a few other places and it seems nowhere cleans the fat as well as King Taco does. The tacos are the small 3 inch tortillas so you can easily eat 3 of them. If you are super hungry you will need more. The service here is quick and to the point. Welcome, what can I get for you? Pay them, here’s your number and wait until it’s called, get your food and enjoy!

King Taco is an East LA staple and as a lifetime local, I’ve been coming here since I could remember. The burritos have seemed to be getting smaller and more expensive over the years, but that’s a given due to our local economy. The flavor and the menu has remained somewhat consistent as well. The location is convenient for all as it is right off the 710 freeway and there is a Metro Gold Line station across the street. The venue itself is pretty big, but the giant crowds on weekend nights after the clubs/bars close still manage to overwhelm the place sometimes. Speaking of… The crowds can be a bit sketchy. Since it’s a popular after-the-club spot, you’ll see everything from half naked girls crawling to the restroom to cholo fights in the parking lot. There is always at least one armed security guard and the staff preparing food always seem to handle any issues well. Issues have somewhat decreased due to the bigger issue of gentrification and«outsiders» encroaching into what was once(and still is) a cultural hub for Mexican Americans. Come here if you’re hungry and have some time to spare as lines and wait times can get ridiculous. Don’t come here if you’re afraid of being stared down by a bald Mexican dude who thinks you were checking out his girlfriend.

King Taco is a bit of an institution in LA but honestly I don’t see what’s so great about it. If you get the all meat burrito it’s kind of boring flavor-wise and probably too salty. If you get the regular burrito, the meat to rice/beans ratio is horrible… you might as well have just gotten a rice and bean burrito. The salsa is good though… but overall I would probably rate King Taco is slightly below average in terms of Mexican food in LA

THISISHANDSDOWNMYALLTIMEFAVORITETACO, BURRITO, TAMALES, NACHOS, TORTA, ANDWHATEVER-ELSE-THEY-HAVEPLACE. Seriously, their carne asada is marinated by the gods themselves. It’s limey, flavorful, and tender. But what makes this place really special is their salsas. After years of eating here, I still can’t decide which salsa is better — the salsa roja or the salsa verde. It’s like trying to pick your favorite child. Be warned that the salsa roja is muy caliente! I still remember the first I tried it, it made me cry… out of joy and pain, but mostly joy. If you’re a first timer, go for the tacos. But like I mentioned before, their pollo tamales is the best I’ve ever had. It’s buttery and soft. The chicken is cooked in this delicious green marinade to pure perfection. Their nachos with the melted cheese topped with carne asada, cilantro, and onions are another one of my favorites. Drizzle the salsa over the nachos and you can thank me later. Now that I live in SD, this is probably the one food I always crave. When I do visit LA, I always order couple burritos to-go and throw them in my freezer til my next visit. ALLHAILKINGTACO!

Stopped for lunch after picking up our 5K race packets at Dodger Stadium. Since this was my first time, I decided to pick up a sampler of items — tamale con queso y jalapeño, carne asada taco, al pastor sope(delish!) & al pastor burrito(all meat). Everything was yummy! My only comment was that the all meat al pastor burrito had WAYTOOMUCH diced onion!(Like about 2 big handfuls) We like onion a lot, but it was too much for us! Next time I’d ask for no onion.

I hadn’t eaten at a King Taco for years and this was my first visit to this location — which is huge. Parking is no issue since the parking lot is only for King Taco. I came in on a weekday and was impressed with the organization of the patrons who can order at several windows. They offer a comfortable indoor air conditioned dining area which was a positive on a hot and humid day. I was in the mood for lengua and selected the burrito which was generous sized and filled with beans, rice, cilantro and onions. Unlike their competitors — the lengua portion was decent also. I asked for the green salsa on the side and it was spicy and had a nice kick. I was quite satisfied with my overall experience and will surely return again.
