Had this at a Pet Event for Central Pet. It was really good vanilla ice cream. And I never eat ice cream but tried it anyways. I don’t know if it was totally worth the extra running I need to do tomorrow but it was good.

We were lucky enough to get this truck to come to our work and oh my! Delicious! You must get the Avalanche! It’s creamy vanilla ice cream topped with shaved ice and flavor syrup of your choice. I chose piña colada. So yummy! Highly recommend!

Had their truck for a work event and it was pretty good! The truck really catches your eye with it’s retro-kitchy look and feel. Peanuts, Oreo, sprinkles, choco chip are some of the toppings. It kind of reminded me of the Big Gay Ice Cream truck without as many elaborate creations. The soft serve is better than McDonald’s and on par with Dairy Queen which I newly discovered is a fantastic soft serve cone. The thing I really liked is how generous they were with the toppings. I had peanut pieces flying all over the place but in a good way.

We just celebrated our daughters 1st Birthday. We had gourmet organic tacos, home cooked meals & desserts but the only thing everyone talked about was the Ice Cream! They completely worked with us and some of our limitations. We will totally use them again! Great job King Kone! Thank you!

I don’t even like soft serve, and will wait 30 min in line for this truck! I had a slushee for the first time recently and it was delicious too!!! Everyone working the truck has been so friendly and competent.

Had the King Kone truck for a company event. The pictures on Unilocal got me excited to try this out but it ended up tasting pretty generic. Ice cream was also kind of icy and hard like it’s been frozen too long. Not all that bad, but also nothing to rave about.

We´ve had the King Kone truck at our kids b-day party two years in a row — and both time both the kids and the adults have loved it! Thank you!

The King Kone truck came to our neighborhood for a food truck event, and while I typically do not frequent the dessert trucks, I stopped by for a dipped cone. After biting into the rather large cone, I realized two things: 1) this is a completely different concoction from what you’ll get at your local Tasty Freeze, and 2) I didn’t care for it. The ice cream was very good without a doubt, but the milk chocolate topping was just not to my liking. Could it be that I actually prefer the artificial, chemically-laden faux-chocolate topping found at Dairy Queen? Well, yes, and while I’m not proud of that, I can only say that this particular dip was not for me.

King Kone Ice cream truck was at a school event. Very long line, so during the wait I looked at the menu to figure out what I wanted. I was looking to try something different and fun, and the«avalanche» was just the thing. It’s a combination of soft serve and shaved ice! I wasn’t aware you got the choose the flavor of shaved ice, and when I got to the front of the line and ordered an avalanche the lady gave my a blank stare. She then rudely asked«which flavor?» The avalanche itself was amazing, such a good combination to have icy soft serve with cherry flavor. It was $ 4 which is the price of the majority of their items. A lot of fun to eat! Would’ve given it 5 stars if the lady wasn’t so rude.

I havent heard too much about King Kone until my company catered a food truck event! The King Kone trucks are so cute! They had one that was hard-scoop ice cream & shave ice and another truck that did soft-service ice cream. I tried the chocolate scoop with oreos and peanuts, YUMMY! It was so decadent. I love the creaminess of the chocolate ice cream. I normally dont order chocolate, but was craving it that day. The service was quick and friendly & they only charged 1 ticket! :P At about $ 3 at the normal price, it’s definately worth it. Get the chocolate! Plus, there was never a long line for the desserts. Because I’m special, I got to get another ticket and tried the vanilla scoop. The vanilla wasn’t as great, it was kinda icy and hard. I was hoping it would be creamier. I didnt get to try the specials because our menu only had the ice cream with 2 toppings. :(All in all, I would totally recommend King Kone for ice cream.

The chocolate dipped soft serve was heavenly. After riding our bikes from home down Wilshire to LACMA, and waited in the long line for another truck for lunch, we strolled up to King Kone with no problem and shared the thick, creamy chocolate dipped cone. I know many people say the one at Mickey D’s is cheaper, but I’m not sure the chocolate has that same sweet, but not too sweet milk chocolately flavor. If it’s around and I’m craving ice cream, yes I will stop –as long as the line isn’t long! Darn food trucks! :)

The«King» part may be a stretch, but then again I had no problem hoovering my ice cream cone… I was prepared to order simple vanilla cone when I saw that the menu offered all kinds of cool ways to get soft serve… Now I needed a new game plan. They had it in the form of a milkshake, a sundae, an ice cream sandwich, in a chocolate dipped cone, and other creative variations. Impressive. They even do shaved ice over soft serve(which I personally think sounds gross, but to each his own). I got the Rocky Road cone($ 4) which had vanilla ice cream, dipped in chocolate then rolled in almonds. Tasty? Oh hell yes. Their soft serve has a real, rich vanilla flavor and it’s thick and creamy. The chocolate could’ve been more chocolatey, but it was still good, and I like that it didn’t harden into a crunchy shell. It’s a nice change from the Frosty Queen days when me and my little bro would race to lick the chocolate off the ice cream before it solidified. If only we had the King Kone Truck then, we wouldn’t have had to work so hard. If they happen to be in the area, I’d happily visit again. But at these prices, I’m not about to chase them down… That, and I wouldn’t want to be seen chasing down an ice cream truck. FYI: Cash only

«I like it but it’s nothing like the ones we had in Kauai» Once again this is the first impression from my 10 year old daughter who is my sous chef, budding food truck groupie and future Unilocaler of all things edible after the first bite of her shave ice at the Valley Food Truck Festival. The strawberry syrup was almost artificially sweet and the ice was more chunky than powdery. The service was efficient yet the least friendly of the trucks we visited that day. Next time we’ll go for the ice cream and see if they can make it up to four stars.
