Kim’s Plants

The only game in town that could supply me iceberg roses on short notice! Kim is courteous, professional and polite.

I had purchased many plants from Kim and found the pricing great. However, when I had to order some crawling roses it had to make a special order. I received and planted my roses and about 6 months later my Gardner noticed that the roses where not climbing so I inspected the and found a label on the roses what not for climbing but just for bush roses. I call Kim and he said that is not possible and hung up. Considering how much business I had give him in the past I thought that perhaps he didn’t recall who I was, so I decided to drive over there and show him the label. After arguing with him for sometime I asked him to come by and look at the roses. I never heard from him again. Needless to say I had to purchase the correct roses from someone else. Very bad business.

I walked in looking for podocarpus to create a hedge.
Kim welcomed me and offered me two other non-​ficus options.
(FYI avoid the commonly used ficus due to invasive roots.)
He introduced me to a red leaved plant and one called a Texana.
I had seen both in hedges around LA but never knew what they were called.
He gave me a great price for twenty of them and included delivery.
His brother delivered them and gave me tips on how to care for them.
I’d do it again.

What a fantastic experience with a traditional small business owner who really cares about his customers. I went in to look around after having bad experiences with customer service at other nurseries such as Rolling Green. The owner, Kim, eagerly agreed to help me by coming over and seeing what kind of plants I might need without even knowing or having to ask about my budget. He answered all of my questions enthusiastically and just got the job done quickly and efficiently. He worked hard alongside his team to bring my dream garden a reality. No hidden fees, no slimy designer fees. I am very picky and hard to please and I was just so relieved to find someone talented AND honest. His workers were also lovely and very considerate while working at my home — especially Juan. I can’t recommend them enough. Forget those big fancy nurseries with those random «designer» fees — Kim’s is the way to go!

Great plants but Kim has a horrible attitude. Slightly friendly if you spend more than $ 100 but he clearly prefers his computer, TV, and cash register and finds them more interesting than his customers.
