I’ve been getting weekly facials & massages for a few months now, and my skin looks and feels amazing! I get compliments all the time. The day I go is basically my favorite day of the week. Great products(e.g. Matis and dead sea soaps), even better service. The two women there are so sweet and welcoming every time I see them. They do a very thorough job and even give me tips on how to take care of my skin.

OMG! I should have checked Unilocal before walking into this place. What a mistake!!! My daughter was early for her hair appointment next door so I decided to get my eyebrows wax. I walked in and it seems fine. I asked how much the lady said $ 15 but I give you discount, just pay, $ 12. What a nightmare! Did I ask for shaved eyebrows? NO!!! I came in for wax, not shave. She waxed some areas and started shaving. I asked what she is doing and she showed me the eyebrow razor. What a shocker! To her that is normal and it is beautiful! WTF!!! I looked at the razor and it looks«used/old razor». It totally freaked me out because it is NOT hygienic to share a razor. Yikes!!! So gross!!! I left with my eyebrows uneven and did not pay a dime. Why would I in the first place? If anything, they should pay me for the inconvenience. On my way home, I stopped by Burbank Town Center and got my eyebrows fixed by an Indian girl using threading. The moment I sat down, she already notice my eyebrows are not even. And yet, the Korean lady was insisting it is even and beautiful. Urgggg! Definitely, AVOID this place if you want a nicely shaped eyebrows. They DON“T know what they are doing. I would rate it zero star but Unilocal don’t have 0 star option… lucky, they get one star.

Where do I begin? First of all, let me start by saying that the owner/primary aesthetician, Linda Ko, is a liar and a crook. Korean/Asian establishments aren’t exactly known for their customer service but this is on another level. I might be more tolerant if at least the quality of the services were satisfactory but I have been going to KSY Skincare since the original owner and ever since the current owner took over a few years ago the quality of services has definitely gone downhill, especially since she is using cheaper skincare products(I can tell by the smell of plastic bottles on my face and absence of Matis Paris products [or something equivalent] next to the beds which is what the original owner used). Below is my analysis based on several attempts to give this place a chance, not just one experience. Facial: Starts with a cleanse and beaded scrub(which is completely pointless in my opinion) — this place basically doesn’t do any exfoliation. Next comes the extractions. She will only touch the most obvious ones and doesn’t address blackheads and things that make you feel like you had a thorough facial. Then she proceeds to do the vigorous Korean facial massage which stimulates blood circulation and breaks up fat cells. This part is OK,(I actually prefer her trusty assistant who has been there since the original owner!) although the length of time she does it for seems to have gotten much shorter since the original owner. Finally she applies a mask that you wear for an hour. This is where the results should be visible. She claims to use a $ 100-value mask on your face but she is all fluff and talk. It is important to use good quality products at this level since its seeping into your pores for a solid hour. With the previous owner I would see results immediately. My face looked brighter/clearer and more taught. I don’t see any improvements from the facials now. It doesn’t make it worse, but just maintains status quo, which is not what i’m paying for. Eyeliner Tattoo: This is where the bulk of my warnings to stay away comes from. She claims to use a very expensive topical anesthetic cream that makes it painless — it is not. She claims, rather, EXclaims, «NO pain or your money back!» She also claims to charge $ 250 normally but because of a «sale» she only charges you $ 200 trying to make you feel like you got a deal. Trust me, this must be a permanent sale because I don’t know anyone who got charged $ 250. I did my research when shopping around for this procedure and $ 200 is the typical going rate. She also charges $ 100 per touch up which would normally be fine since its only required when the ink starts to fade(which is usually in a few years). However, when you’re not happy with the original results, you should not be charged $ 100 for the aesthetician’s mistake. She took it upon herself to make the eyeliner super thin(as in not noticeable whatsoever) and now after an extensive phone conversation with her I know why. Her tactic is two-folds. She purposely draws your eyeliner SUPERTHIN to save herself ink, time, and effort and also to get you to come back to pay $ 100 to make it a little bit thicker. What she should be doing is tailoring it to each individual’s eye shape. Cost aside, isn’t that what’s most important? Especially when it comes to a permament or semi-permanent procedure on your FACE, you want to go to someone who will pay attention to detail and not someone who standardizes everyone’s eyes to to skimp on expenses. In the beginning I liked the way it turned out because I was afraid that it would be too thick. I never thought I should be wary of the opposite. She preys on people’s intimidation of the needle and uses that as an excuse as to why she keeps it really thin. Again, I am speaking from not only my experience but my friends’ as well. We naturally all have different eyes and faces yet everyone’s experience was the same. The eyeliner beeing too thin is understandable after the first session, but going back for the second and final session is when its supposed to get slightly thicker and it did not. If you’re thinking you like it thin, that is exactly what I thought as well, but this is simply ridiculous. I still don’t want it thick like its obvious I have makeup on, but just enough so I don’t look like I’m tired when I’m not wearing any makeup. Too much to ask? Overall, be prepared to pay $ 300 + for the results you want. ***Furthermore, if you didn’t know this already, tipping a business owner is not standard practice. Tip assistants, yes, but if its the owner who is servicing you with your hair, face, or body, it is NOT customary to tip them! Google it if you don’t believe me.

I stopped in, asked for a Eyebrow Waxing. She started to wax my eyebrows but then suddenly began to do what I thought was tweezing. I asked and she told me she was SHAVING. I asked if she could please wax and she disregarded my request. I was not happy with this bc I specifically asked for a WAX. After she finished I realized she did not even give my eyebrows much shape, she just shaved some of the surrounding hair. I’m certain my eyebrow hair will start to grow back tomorrow. What a waste! I can’t believe I payed $ 15 to have my eyebrows shaved. I certainly will not be returning.

They’re under new management and they’re amazing! I’ve been going there whenever I’m in town since they’re been under the management and they currently have a deal for $ 50 for their treatment instead of the normal charge of $ 70. Not to mention they have a $ 400 membership where you go for 10 visits. The skin care lady and assistant are so sweet. They give the BEST massages from shoulder up to the neck. It’s amazing. They put this steam thing on your face and rub you down and pop all your pimples, remove whiteheads, blackheads, the whole thing. Evenmore she tells you what to do after to maintain healthy skin and so forth. Def recommend!
