There’s a parking structure located at the basement and the restaurant offers parking validation up to 3 hours. They currently have a happy hour deal 4−9PM everyday! I think this may only include draft beers and sake for now but maybe they’ll make a food one soon? Their lunch deals look great, its a shame I don’t work nearby but maybe I’ll come for lunch on another weekend. RAMENREVIEW: Spicy Tonkatsu Kyushu Ramen Don’t be alarmed by the size of the bowl it looks bigger than it is but for $ 10 its a decent bowl. They have nice, thick, chewy ramen noodles which are my favoriteeeee. Toppings come with chashu, half an egg, bamboo, wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onions, crispy garlic and red chili threads. I like when my ramen comes with a good amount of toppings and I don’t have to build my own bowl! Chashu in the ramen wasn’t something memorable but it didn’t take away too much from the entire meal. This place has won me over and I will be back to try other things they have on the menu. I saw a $ 17 chirashi bowl that looked pretty decent.

Based on the food, this place seems like more of a ramen house than a sushi joint. The Tonkotsu ramen really is delish! I would have given 4 stars just on the ramen except the delivery took ANHOURAND A HALF. WTFudge! It arrived hot though! Ume shiso roll was sweet?(ume shiso is pickled plum, supposed to be tart) Salmon sushi was fair Blue crab roll was okay Tonkotsu ramen was yum! If you have a ramen craving this place is delish and they deliver via LA Bite. Just be aware that there’s a $ 40 minimum!

This restaurant is a gift to Koreatown. Two hours of free validated parking, delicious ramen and sushi, and reasonable prices – for LA, and even more so Koreatown, you really can’t get much better than that. I cannot resist the ramen of this place – it is a definite competitor with neighboring Slurpin Ramen Bar, which I have mentioned is one of my favorite places in the city(and has one the best Unilocal ratings in the city). Bring your ramen bib. I made one out of napkins and it fared well against the savory, oily soup base that tends to splash everywhere. I’ve had both the Spicy Tonkotsu Kyushu Ramen and the Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Sapporo Ramen. I think I prefer the Kyushu, but the Sapporo is an interesting deviation that is definitely worth your time. The broth of both have exceptional consistency and zest. The noodles are huge – almost the size of udon noodles – but they are lovely. As for sushi, I have thoroughly enjoyed the basic sushi I’ve ordered. With sushi, I order conservatively, so I got two of the most popular offerings: the Spicy Tuna roll and the Salmon Otero nigiri. Both were great. My girlfriend liked them, too, and she historically has not liked sushi. Overall, this place is great. Definitely recommend.

This was my first and last time going to this place. — Food hygiene: a small piece of plastic found in the miso soup; a long hair in the seafood bowl; a fly in the air. Can’t believe it all happened in one meal. Sometimes I can tolerate it if the food is really good, but… — Ramen base: It looks and tastes too«perfect» just like the instant soup base you can find in a supermarket. — Chirashi bowl: perhaps I’m too picky but I just don’t like the rice mixed with sesame and something unknown — too sweet! I prefer to use vinegar only. — 1.5 $ for half cup of tea? It’s Ok if you want to charge the tea. But you better fill the cup and make it fresh brewed, not like left over.

Formerly the Gait en Sushi–(roundabout sushi place) — I was very skeptical on trying Kashira because i observed how the quality of Gait-en Sushi digressed and that’s why it was replaced… We went here for lunch only because I was craving pork cutlet and didn’t want tonkatsu house in the plaza food court or wako. we went there for pork cutlets and ending up feasting on ramen, sushi and pork cutlets. Wow! their ramen is pretty amazing — it’s pretty up in there with daikokuya, santouka, jinya, etc. The pork cutlet was pretty awesome with quality pork and good portion– next time i will try their premium pork cutlet. I love the grandpa sushi chef~ he was engaging just enough so that we would enjoy our delicious food but to make sure that our experience was heading the right direction. We ordered salmon sushi and the 7pcs aburi? set and I can’t wait to go back and have more!

How are they making any money with these DEALS! Has Chu Toro and UNI? Next time I’m coming here, just getting 2 of them specials yo! Ramen is dank too. Recommended this place to two friends. Their happy hour and lunch specials are such a steal! The lunch sets are the perfect amount of food. Ordered the trust me special + mini ramen, chirashi + mini ramen, an order of uni, and a large house sake for only $ 54! Definitely come before 4pm for these prices. They also have happy hour drinks everyday from 4pm-9pm. Beer, sake, and and wine for half off! The ramen was so flavorful, ask them for a side of spicy sauce to add to the broth(extra 50 cents and I only found out by looking over the receipt. Wish the waitress told us beforehand). The fish can’t beat the ones from Little Tokyo, but it was still fresh and beautiful presented. Service was also very nice and friendly. Parking is really easy. They have a designated parking garage(entrance is next to CVS) and it’s free for 3 hours with validation. Will come back again :)

I’ve been meaning to try this place out for a while now but was a bit hesitant just because of the former restaurant that used to be there, Gatten Sushi. However, I checked it out on Unilocal and it looked legit so finally decided to try it out. They apparently pride themselves on being real Japanese owners. The food does taste authentic and not like at some of the Korean-owned places, especially the ramen. I had the spicy tonkatsu ramen and it was really delicious. The soup base was very porky and milky and the ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and chewy. The noodles are handmade fresh here too. This was definitely the highlight of the meal. I also had the salmon belly nigiri and that was pretty solid. My wife had the tempura udon and that was pretty good as well. However, the tempura could have used some work. There was no real crunch to it even after I tried it out right after being brought out. Also, the shrimp and vegetable tempuras seemed to be a little undercooked. However, Kashira is still a solid authentic Japanese restaurant and I will definitely be back for the ramen as it may rival some of the ramen spots down in Torrance.

One thing I like about restaurants at the Solair complex on the corner of Western and Wilshire is that you get free two hours of parking with retail validation in the parking garage and avoid having to valet like 95% of other places in Koreatown. Anyways, Kashira is a new Japanese-owned sushi restaurant located at the complex and I’m so glad we finally have a sushi joint like this right here in Koreatown — I wouldn’t call it a destination location if you live 20 miles away, but if you live in Koreatown and are hungry for simple sushi fare, I would definitely recommend swinging by for a taste! We got the nigiri trust me special, which was basically a fresh assortment of sushi. Good! Then we ordered the spicy crunchy tuna roll — usually we are not a fan of rolls, but since they proclaim that this is their bestseller(per their menu on the napkin holder which ranked their items in the order of popularity), we decided to get it and found it to be surprisingly really delicious. Ramen was also yummy — the thinly sliced pork belly was cooked to perfection and tasted great in the hearty donkatsu broth. I deducted a star because service was rather slow…

I got the lunch combo special spicy ramen with small katsu and also added 2 handrolls(salmon skin and crab) to share with a friend. DELISH!!! I especially LOVED the salmon skin handroll. SOGOODYUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMS. It is in the SOLAIR apt plaza which I rarely go to because the parking structure is a bit annoying… but decided to try this place out because I had to stop by Nature Republic anyway. I’m glad I did!

I was craving some decently priced sushi, but did not want to wait in line at Noshi Sushi. After searching on Unilocal,I stumbled upon Kashira! They recently just opened up on the first floor of the Solaire building. The parking is in the back. 3 Hour free parking with validation at the restaurant. On a week night, there was no wait. The restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. The servers were friendly and attentive. Our food came out in a good timely manner. I ordered the Nigiri Trust me Special, which came with 10 pieces of different nigiri including uni! All this for only $ 17! That is such a steal, especially since uni by itself sometimes goes for $ 10. My plate came out on a gorgeous, colorful spread. And all the fish tasted fresh and delicious. My bf ordered the Chirashi bowl special, which also included uni, and $ 17. His bowl included generous portions of fishes, with the perfect amount of rice at the bottom. Both of the special dishes come with miso soup. The amount of $$ you are paying for what you get is worth every dollar. I will definitely return.

Parking: Parking lot. The parking lot entrance is near the CVS. They validate 2 hours. Or if you take public transit, Metro red line exit on Western/whilshire. Came here during their grand opening event. We were able to have a sample of their menu: oyster — it was huge and salty. 3.3÷5. I prefer smaller and less salty. chirashi bowl — this was served in a small boat bowl– maybe 3 – 5 spoons of rice with a handful of sashimi. 3.6÷5 Platter containing — Ahi Poke Salad — not bad 3.3÷5 Crispy rice spicy tuna — this was pretty good 4.1÷5 Tuna with garlic chili oil — not bad 3.5÷5 Crispy Rice — not bad 3.3÷5 Veggie Roll — standard veggie row 3.1÷5 Dragon Roll — it had too much sauce for my taste 3.2÷5 Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen — it was not that spicy. I would say pretty mild. 3⁄5 My small suggestion is to carry Asahi super dry. I prefer to drink that with my sushi. Overall, it is a decent place for sushi.

I think this place is going to be my new sushi joint place. I went here tonight We had sashimi, sushi, oysters and crispy rice. Its an average quality but I liked it. Cuz they have good options on menu. Sashimi– great, tasty Sushi– average, comparing price, its good. Oysters– great. It was fresh and yamm Crispy rice spicy tuna– not my thing… It was not I expected to be. Service– well, I know its friday and it was busy however, we noticed them like 3 times for in case they forgot about it. and our oysters came like 50min later. They were nice but I think they need to be more patient to customers. Btw one of the waitress was super nice. Parking– in the building(free 3hours parking) w/validation.

I wasn’t expecting much, but when I had my ramen I was pleasantly surprised. Probably one of the better ramen’s I’ve had; get the Spicy Miso! Though I wish it had more meat for the price, I was pretty satisfied with the broth. Spicy Sapporo Miso Ramen(10) — Perfect egg — Nice pieces of meat — Chewy noodles — Garlic flavor — Rounded spice — Flavor punch — Weird cabbage and carrots Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu Ramen(9.50) — Deep throat spice — Creamier — Perfect egg What is deep throat spice? It’s the spice you get in the back of your throat that sort of lingers. My boyfriend enjoyed this bowl, but I felt like the Miso Ramen had what I was looking for.

Happy Hour everyday from 5−9pm? Awesome! Of course, the happy hour only covers alcohol — $ 1.90 Kirin, $ 6.50 pitchers, $ 3 for sake or wine is pretty good! Came here with a friend for dinner on a Tuesday. We were seated at the bar right away. FOOD: — spicy kyushu tonkotsu ramen — delicious broth! Offered in mild, regular and extra spicy, we tried the regular and it had a nice healthy kick of spice. Broth is rich and flavorful without being too oily. Noodles are chewy and eggy, chasiu is tender and egg is soft boiled. — pork tonkatsu curry — served with miso soup, rice and salad. Katsu is crisp and I loved their house curry. Yummy and filling. SERVICE: Excellent and friendly! We asked for extra bowls since we were sharing and they offered to split our ramen into 2 bowls for us! :D They even cut the egg in half. Super friendly staff. VENUE/PARKING: Venue is fairly spacious. There’s a large bar counter area surrounding the sushi bar and several tables and booths. Bathrooms are clean. I think they validate for parking within the structure, but we walked over. A delicious and welcome addition to Ktown! Will definitely be back for happy hour drinks!

Absolutely loved this place! Everything was so delicious and I was in a hurry to eat that I couldn’t even take any pictures, but don’t worry I’m planning to be back very soon so I’ll post pictures! They have happy hour drinks from 5pm to 9pm. We ordered a large cold sake for $ 3!!! Of course, house sake(hot or cold) aren’t going to be the best quality sake they have but… it’s $ 3! haha We ordered the fresh live oysters 3 pieces for $ 8.50 I believe. It was very fresh! The chef gave us ponzu and chili oil… thingy on the side and that was amazing! The three pieces were perfect, it wasn’t too much just perfect for an appetizer. Even someone that doesn’t enjoy oysters ate one and said it was«pretty» good haha The Aburi sushi 5pcs combo was definitely a great choice. I was thinking about the 7 pcs but I wanted to try different things so I went with the 5 pieces! Uni, tuna, yellowtail, scallop and salmon… belly? all five pieces were slightly seared. They were very delicious but it wasn’t like MELTINMY mouth quality. We also ordered bluefin tuna, albacore and ikura sushi. IKURA was not salty at all! It had a hint of sweet plum taste, and I fell in love! The tuna and albacore were good but nothing that stood out to me. We also ordered the tempura udon. The broth was a little on the bland side but they were very giving with the tempura. Mixed vegetables and shrimps were included and they fried it so it’s crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside to taste the different vegetables. We though we should get some vegetables. so we ordered the tuna poke salad as well.(this was for a party of 2…) Nothing really stuck out but I thought they could’ve put more salad. in there … hahaa It had seaweed salad inside as well. Finally I ordered a spicy tuna roll which was $ 3. It wasn’t really spicy but it was good and for $ 3, they give you enough! I’m definitely coming back to try their ramen and try their chu-toro dishes. I would most likely recommend this place to my friends. The parking is a bit confusing, it’s on oxford next to CVS and dont’ miss the sign that says«RETAILPARKING» which takes you underground haha!

My friends and I decided to come here at the recommendation of another friend, who said the ramen is really good. Came here but actually didn’t get any ramen as I wasn’t feeling like it. Our party of 6 got a bunch of rolls and shared amongst the table. We really liked the Dragon roll and Popcorn Shrimp roll. I do want to come here to try the ramen next time. Food was not bad, but I have to say the service was meh. It was a bit hard to get the servers’ attention half the time(one of them literally walked away after my friend did get her attention). And also, our seat/booth was just not good. We were seated right next to the bathroom and. Whenever somebody opened the bathroom door we would get a waft of the smells coming out… not appetizing. We asked a couple times to switch tables but we couldn’t because. All of the rest were occupied. :( Hopefully my next experience here is better.

The location of this restaurant is on Wilshire and Western, right across the street from the Wiltern, and has a Red Line stop. So it’s in a pretty centralized location. The restaurant is well spaced — table wise, with booths and bar seating available. Service was fast and friendly. Our server, Natalia, was thoughtful and really took her time to listen to our questions. We tried: Crispy rice spicy tuna Tuna with garlic chili oil Ahi Poke Salad Crispy Rice Veggie Roll Dragon Roll Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen Oyster Chirashi, in a cute little bento box. It had a bit of a fishy taste to the fish. The rice was well seasoned, though. Nigiri sampler — tuna, salmon, and a few other fish My favorite of the night was spicy tuna on crispy rice cake and ramen. I had the spicy tonkatsu ramen — flavorful, had a great pork-y taste. However, the noodles was just a bit over done. It’s possible that they were too busy and some of the items were just sub-par. Parking: Street or underground parking structure right below the restaurant. The entrance is on the side(Oxnard St) next to a bus parking lot. Also, the restaurant only validates the parking for 2 hours even though there’s a sign in the garage says 4. Overall, nice service and decent food. Would definitely try to come back. I enjoyed their ramen, and they have a great happy hour for drinks and food. FYI, beer, wine and sake offered only.

To find this place and park, you will need to go one block East to Oxford and drive past CVS and park in the underground parking lot, not up where the residents live.(They validate for up to 2 hours) This place is conveniently directly above the Wilshire and Western stop for the Metro and across from the Wiltern. Location wise, it’s in the heart of downtown. This was the old Gatten Sushi location. Came here for a media tasting of their offerings last night so my opinions are that of a paying customer. We were offered a a bite of each of their popular dishes, even including a small bowl of ramen. Inside this location, what used to be the old Gatten Sushi conveyor belt style restaurant has now been replaced by a sushi bar /dining area. We got to try: Crunchy spicy tuna Tuna with garlic chili oil Ahi Poke Salad Crispy Rice Veggie Roll Dragon Roll Popcorn Shrimp Soy Ramen Oyster Chirashi taster Sushi-Fatty salmon, uni, tuna, snapper? Everything was delicious, but of course this is Unilocal and I’m kind of super critical at times especially when I’m hungry so let’s start with the items that I think you can skip. The Ahi Poke was just Ok, I thought it needed more sea salt, maybe a hint of sesame oil, and bigger chunks of tuna. The popcorn shrimp also didn’t taste seasoned. Some of the sushi I got weren’t sliced property, so don’t expect perfection on the nigiris. As for the good and the really good stuff, you should get the oyster, nice nice & big and super briny. The Crispy rice was flavorful, crispy. The Chirashi I like a lot, has sushi rice and of course the usual chirashi type fish for the simple foodies. The fatty salmon was super flavorful, very oily, and tastes almost like butter. The soy ramen is really nice on a cold day, has the usual egg, greens, and kamaboko for topping. As for what you’ll find on the menu here, the prices are incredibly easy on the wallet for a location like this. You can get a Tonkotsu Ramen for $ 9 during lunch here! Or a tempura and teriyaki chicken here for under $ 10!(Speaking of which, teri chicken and tempura is what I usually order in most Japanese places and I didn’t get to try it here so I shall be back !) Yes, according to Kadae, server Miho IS super friendly. She was here as part of the team that helped serve us. They have Kirin on draft here, as well as some sake and sochu. I want to try to come here during happy hour one day, I believe it’s 4pm-9pm everyday. This place is now open for business. I would say this place is about 4.5 stars but rounded off to 5. Free drink with Unilocal check-in. Don’t come here expecting Katsuya or Urasawa quality. This place is a lot easier on the poket book. I would totally come here when I have a Japanese food craving when in town.

Slave girl found a sushi and ramen bar in Korean town and it is our duty to check out the place. The parking wasn’t bad at all. Besides street parking, there is an underground parking structure right below the restaurant. The entrance is on the side(Oxnard St) next to a bus parking lot. Also, the restaurant only validates the parking for 2 hours even though there’s a sign in the garage says 4. The restaurant is well spaced with sushi bar seating available. Service was fast and friendly. Our server, Natalia, was thoughtful and really took her time to listen to our questions. Not your typical k-town treatment. My favorite of the night was spicy tuna on crispy rice cake. The spicy tuna was well seasoned, especially when combined with the crunchy texture of the rice cake, and when you ate the entire piece in one bite, it was heavenly. I would also recommend the Kyushu tonkotsu ramen because of the tasty broth. It was made with pork and chicken and a hint of shiitake mushroom. If you ever want to get that, make sure NOT to get it spicy because you should really taste the broth and enjoy it. Overall, nice service and decent food.
