The «Sailor Tax» man was an absolute fraud. I checked into a hotel and delayed my flight out of the Port of Long Beach on a Friday afternoon after singing off a ship so I might physically meet with him and Bob Crickmore during their leisurely 3 day work week Tues-​Thurs 10 – 2 and hand over 4yrs of back taxes so they may «expertly» remove me from the financial grips of NY State. I had not lived in that state since graduating from Maritime but had kept my parents permanent mailing address for stability. They took from me a sum that equates to a months rent and sat on my file for over a year and half assuring me time and time again they were handling it properly. Notices of increasing severity kept appearing from the state until an actual tax warrant was issued against me, now requesting much more substantial sums with all sorts of penalties plus interest. I kept calling and emailing, all while they kept insisting it was fine and advised me not to contact the state directly. Then finally, one morning I woke up and my savings account had been completely withdrawn by the Tax Man. I finally called NYS to see what had been done and they had no record of any correspondence with any tax professional working with them on my behalf, ever! Thanks guys for all your BS. I really enjoyed the stale coffee and old Cold War Stories, but I will be contacting the police.
