half-off almost everything for happy hour! Their menu prices all fall under 15 – 20, which seems like a lot, but their plates are actually pretty large and pretty tasty!!! Got the spicy chicken, kimchi pork, lappokki, soup, and 4 large hite bottles for about 50 $ total split between 4 well-fed people. Manager is so cool too! He just walked over and said we can have 1 hr free NRB if we wanted… which sadly we couldn’t take because we all had to leave :( Cons: TINY parking lot, and random cig butts on the bathroom floor!!!

After attending a happy hour here last week, I’ve come to the realization that Kanpai is really underrated. The food is really good, the service is snappy and the outside area allows for large group events. Granted, one of my high school classmates manages the place and I might be slightly biased because of that, but at the same time, I was pleasantly surprised at how well Kanpai delivered.

Spicy chicken, cream donkatsu, spicy pork and kimchi, kimchi fried rice, fried chicken gizzards, and their happy hour special all make this spot special. I love you halmunee!(that means grandma.)

Great place to gather a huge group of people! We had of our chapter members from Houston, Boston, New York, Dallas, DC, Seattle, SF, and Atlanta in the back room. The waitresses brought soju and beer when asked and were calm… even with a large, impatient crowd, roaring for food and alcohol. It’s like Korean funplex– you eat, drink, laugh, and drink downstairs and then wander upstairs for NRB/karaōke.

Went to Kanpai for the first time after they changed from Yigaju. We drove around the parking lot for 45 mins trying to find parking. They did not have parking in the front, and also no parking in the back. Even if there were parking in the back, next door had valet parking that were parking all their cars back there. When we asked NB+(next door) where to park, they told us to ask Kanpai. Btw I could’ve sworn they were the same company. Next downside, upstairs NRB has no updated song. Probably at least 3 months old. I was kinda looking forward to singing the newer song but was disappointed that the didn’t have anything. Double whammy in my eyes. Will not be back.

This is home away from home to me! Yeah, the interior may be a bit outdated, but who cares! The food here is delish! Everything from creamy seafood pasta to corn cheese to asado to popcorn chicken… and so much more… and its good! They have happy hour from 6pm-9pm(mondays and ladies tables i believe all nite) … ½ off soju and hite beer… and even food! It’s not your fancy smancy place, more like a place where everybody knows your name. A nice place to catch up with friends over yummy food and cheap drinks… and just unwind! When you’re done doing tha, t you can head up the stairs and start singing away to your heats content! Yes… they have private karaōke rooms(no rae bang) where you can continue your drinking and rock the mic all at the same time. I *heart* this place!

My friends and I have recently started frequenting Kanpai/YiGaJu ever since the staff and management has changed. The change was definitely for the better. My review is only for the downstairs part. Drink specials stop at 9 pm, so be sure to get there before then. Unfortunately, they only serve soju and beer, but at the end of the night, does it really matter? The staff was very accomodating and all of the food was delicious! Highly recommended.

I know it’s not appropriate to say this is my new found Ktown spot, since I’ve been here plenty of times before when it was Yigaju, but I’m a big fan of the new management and the completely new-and-improved drinking food! There aren’t any changes from the outside except the sign on the building; interior renovations were minor as well. The drinking/dinning area is now filled with black/red vinyl chairs, appears very 90s. There aren’t much characteristic aspects to be speaking about. The menu pretty much consists of the usual Ktown drinking restaurants menu. I know by now you’re thinking why am I giving this place 4 stars… So we ordered; Fried whole chicken, sizzling gizzard, sizzling pork belly & kimchi, rice cake, popcorn chicken, and plenty of drinks to go with the food. I was damn surprised that the food here is better than most Ktown drinking places, and in generous portion. The wait staff and the management are the best! Great attitude and super sweet about giving us «service»(free food!). The only reason I minus a star is the lack of ambiance… since it is somewhat new, it doesn’t get filled. So if you’re looking for more of a meat market environment or to ppl watch, this isn’t the place. But if your plan is to simply let your hair down and be able to hear what others are saying, you will be delighted. Kanpai is a feel good place and that is important because everyone comes out to Ktown to have a good time. Great food, good price, and they really have a good grasp of what customer service is all about!

former yi ga ju… name change and new management… reminiscence of yi ga ju past from markings still visible… fifty-percent off happy hour specials ’til nine pm… indoor or sem-enclosed patio seating… kitchen orders little slow… starting fierce with the cham-il-sul and hite bottles… bottle caps flying… green bottles crackling open… drinks with a quickness… order of hambak steak sauced good, but little small… fried dak-ddong-chim quite the large chunks and portions… good with mayo and tabasco… he-mul-ppa-jun(seafood pancake) large and delicious… finding the lengthy wait for food worthy… hot and fresh… more caps flying… bottles crackling open… man down… man down… roughly four hours of eating and drinking for large ten plus party… only $one-eighty total after tax and tip?.. great!.. amazing!.. magic…

place used to call it YIGAJU basically they just changed the name, better service overall than YIGAJU lots of ppl think that this is a sushi place or fusion restaurant. its NOT !! they welcome you with warm greetings and very kind. I have to agree that they’re parking space is pretty small but there’s a big parking space, which is a meter parking area, it’s free after 830 pm

this place used to be called YIGAJU. food is great, service is quick and friendly, and they have combo deal or happy hour special that we need after golf. also, my buddy and I needs to watch a game or espn after a round of golf when we r eating/drinking here. Kanpai is by far favorate goto place after golf. perfect marrige for me and my buddy. also, I like the owner as well. whenever, I bring my kids –i have 3 and they are not easy :) she takes care of the so well with fries and soda, they are entertained for a while, and booth seating helps as well. the owner lady is truly nice person and all workers learns from her as well. highly recommend it. got SMALLPARKING in the backside
